SOULCALIBUR VI Patch 1.30 Coming March 26

Project Soul just dumped the patch notes for 1.30, which comes out on Tuesday... although all the patch notes are in Japanese. With rudimentary Google Translate, we can give you some of the more important overall system changes. Unfortunately, the battle adjustments are images, so Google can't handle that. NAMCO-BANDAI tends to post the full patch notes in an English PDF the day of the patch, and as soon as we get it, we will embed it in this post.
  • Amy is now available, with her four character creation parts.
  • You can now edit controller settings on the character select screen.
  • You can now set pausing to require a "long-press" during matches.
  • Quick-rematch options are now available on the victory screen.
Namco-Bandai Announces Amy for Next DLC

It's been a while since the last DLC character was released, but earlier today, at EVO Japan, Okubo revealed the character trailer for Amy. We don't have anymore information, such as release dates, or what character creation pieces will be included with the release. All we know is: "coming soon". We will update this post as more information is available.

Major 8WAYRUN Platform Upgrade

You may have noticed that 8WAYRUN has been down for an extended period of time (instead of the scheduled 3 minutes of downtime each morning). This was due to a huge upgrade to the platform in which this website is built upon. This is not an insignificant upgrade, so I wanted to go through it all explaining some of the new features. As usual, a lot of the changes are behind the scenes or for the moderation team, which will be left out of this announcement.

When v1.10 came out, we already knew that the next patch was scheduled for January. Because of the release of 2B, they had already announced their intentions for changes. While we had basic planned changes, we didn't know character specific nerfs and/or buffs. Well as of this moment, we have those details... in Japanese.



We will update this post with the English translations when we get them. Namco-Bandai does not communicate with us at all, so if you guys find a link somewhere to the English patch notes, let us know.
Create-a-Soul Contest Winners Revealed!

Last month, we ran a contest based on people's creativity with create-a-soul. The contest prizes (and the idea for the contest in the first place) were provided from QanbaUSA (use promo code 8WAYRUN2018 for a 10% discount on all orders). We asked you to post your best CAS creations and the moderation team and Qanba would select our favorites, and reward the top three with some Collector's Editions for SC6; featuring a beautiful Sophitia statue, and a steelbook that yells at you when you open it.

2B To Be Released on Tuesday! (December 18)

In addition to today's patch notes reveal, Namco-Bandai has also confirmed that 2B, star of Square-Enix's Nier: Automata, will be released this Tuesday! Included with 2B, will be her special stage, custom character parts and music.

We've known for a few days now that a patch was coming soon for SOULCALIBUR VI that addressed some network and character creation issues with the game. However, we did not know how the upcoming patch would affect balance, or if it would affect balance at all... well now we do! Namco-Bandai has posted official patch notes, which you can find below:

Man, Qanba USA really loves you guys! For the third month in a row now, they have been supplying us with arcade sticks and goodies to show their support for the SOULCALIBUR community.

This time, they have given us three, yes three, collector's editions for SC6 for the Xbox One. Yes, I'm sure by now, all you already have your copies of SC6 and have been playing furiously since October. However, that doesn't mean you managed to get your hands on a collector's edition, with it's beautiful Sophitia statue. Last month's contest was a test of skill (congratulations to @IvantheTerrible for his win); but this month's contest will be a test of creativity!

What do we want to see? It's simple, Show us your best create-a-soul characters. You can include them in the comments as screenshots or videos on youtube. At the end of the month, the moderation team here at 8WAYRUN will review all the entries and pick out our top 3 favorites!

SOULCALIBUR VI v1.02 Patch Notes Revealed!

Scheduled for release tomorrow on PS4, and later in the week for Xbox One and PC/Steam, the first post-release patch for SOULCALIBUR VI has been revealed. These patch notes are being taken from the Japanese Soul Archive; so bear with us for the translation:
  • Voldo and Tira Soul Gauge bugs have been fixed. They will no longer be able to use Soul Gauge techniques before they actually have the required amount of meter.
  • Adjusted the tracking of Geralt's and Tira's unblockables. Not quite sure what this one means, but it is assumed to be an adjustment to their ability to tech trap.
In addition to the above changes, there is also a fix to the rankings display for the PC/Steam version of the game. Again, we don't really know what this means.

However, unlike last time, where the winners were chosen at random, you're going to have to work for this one! You're going to have to pour your time and skill into this one.

In Soulcalibur VI, there is an Arcade Mode. By default, you can play this mode up to "Very Hard" difficulty. However, after beating very hard, you will unlock the final difficulty, which is known as "Legendary". Your mission is to record video of you beating Legendary mode as quickly as possible... and I warn you, this is no easy task.
