With season 2 of SOULCALIBUR VI finally continuing after several months of hiatus, comes another set of battle adjustments!

Setsuka Officially Announced at Today's Fighting Game Roundtable!

Long hinted at, and long awaited for, Setsuka has just been announced for a return to SOULCALIBUR VI! Setsuka was first introduced in SOULCALIBUR III, and her moveset was adopted by Alpha Patroklos in SOULCALIBUR V. Official release date for Setsuka is set for August 4. Along with Setsuka, also announced was the 2.20 balance update to be released alongside her, as well as the next character creation pack.
EVO 2020 Has Officially Been Cancelled...

We reported a few months ago that SOULCALIBUR VI was added to the official lineup for EVO 2020. EVO 2019 being the largest SOULCALIBUR tournament ever, it was nice to see VI get another year at the premiere event. Unfortunately, due to complications caused by the SARS-CoV2 virus, the event has been officially cancelled. This was just announced on the @EVO twitter.

Samurai Shodown's Haohmaru, DLC9 and DLC10 to be released on March 31!

We've been waiting patiently for the release of the next character: Haohmaru. Finally the wait is almost over! NAMCO-BANDAI has confirmed that the next sets of DLC will be released on March 31. In addition to Haohmaru, DLC9 will contain costume pieces from Samurai Shodown; most notably costume pieces for Nakoruru.

EVO 2020 Tournament Announced to Include SOULCALIBUR VI

EVO, the yearly tournament just released their games list for the upcoming championship this summer. Among the staples of Street Fighter, Smash Bros, Marvel and Tekken; SOULCALIBUR also made the list for the second year in a row! Last year's EVO was attended by over 700 players and was won by Yuttoto from Japan.

EVO 2020 takes place this year between July 31 and August 2 in Las Vegas. It is considered the largest and most important fighting game tournament in the world and players tend to save up all year to be able to attend. More information about the event can be found on the EVO website.
First Haohmaru Gameplay Trailer from EVO Japan 2020

For a while now, we've been wondering what Haohmaru would look like in Soulcalibur. Mostly, we wanted to know how he would be different from Mitsurugi. Well at this weekend's EVO Japan 2020 tournament, they revealed the first gameplay trailer for Haohmaru.

Namco-Bandai has made it a point to mention that Haohmaru will not have a story mode in SOULCALIBUR VI. This trailer's story is just for the trailer and will not be further expanded upon in the game itself.
Version 2.02 Hotfix Patch Notes Now Available!

Two days ago, we learned from Namco=Bandai that a hotfix patch was coming out today. Since season 2 just started, there were a lot of unforeseen problems due to all the new mechanics in the game. Rather than waiting for 2.10, Namco-Bandai has opted to release a hotfix with a multitude of fixes and changes. Check the patch notes for some more in-depth information.

SOULCALIBUR VI World Tour 2020 Announced!

Yesterday, Kayane had the distinct honor to formally announce the SOULCALIBUR VI World Tour for 2020. The tour will be similar to the Tekken World Tour, in that it will be a circuit of sanctioned tournaments around the world, leading up to the eventual finals. It was also announced that the first event in the tour would be EVO Japan. EVO Japan is on January 23; so not very far away. Because of that the deadline to register is on December 15. So if you're going to be attending EVO Japan, don't forget to register as soon as possible!
