Games with not enough attention?

Tactics Ogre > FFT, or any other SRPG.

Beyond Good and Evil was actually pretty weaksauce, and I played it before the hype. To this day I cannot understand what the big deal was, and the ending was just dumb.

KOTOR was bad. I played a bit of KOTOR 2, and that was also bad. And I was a massive SW nerd when I played them, too. The games are just a chore to play through, with dumbed down d20 rules and combat that's basically just walking from one enemy to the next, like an even staler MMO, but without anyone to chat with on the way. The story was pretty forgettable, but I'll admit that it takes place in my least favourite SW timeline, and the twist did absolutely nothing for me.

In fact, the only really underrated Star Wars game is Rebellion. With some improvements that game could have been wonderful, as is it's still a lot better than any other SW strategy game.

Rogue Galaxy was so bad. So very fucking bad. Worse than DQ8.

If I were to contribute, I'd go with Darkstone, which was the only Diablo-style game I've ever managed to plod through properly with friends, besides Diablo 1 and 2. It came out between them, and had a lot of neat features, like male and female versions of every class, class based equipment, food (kind of dumb), easy dupping (easier than Diablo, from what I remember), and the ability to steal from other players in town (always a hit with friends). There was some singleplayer business about controlling 2 characters at once, but I never played it alone. It got a PSX port, but I can't imagine how that worked out.

Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear, the only good Rainbow 6 games. Everything after them was and is ass, and once they made the jump to consoles it was all over.

Last Blade > Samurai Shodown, and Depths of Peril is a pretty fun game.

Tactics Ogre > FFT, or any other SRPG.

I have them both, and i love them both. But I just love Ramza too much. FFT will be and will always remain my favorite game of all time. The story is amazing. Forgive me Denim! :(

What is so great about Ramza? Granted the story as a whole is amazing, Ramza didn't strike me as anything special.

Page why do you dislike Rogue Galaxy? I thought it was a very well done game. Much better than FFXII.

oh nasty, Rogue Galaxy better than FFXII? Someone has been eating too many shrooms.

Rogue was choppy, and the story wasn't very good, and on top of that, rushed and horribly told.

I know Rogue Galaxy didn't have the best story, but IT ACTUALLY HAD ONE AT LEAST. XII is an insult to Final Fantasy. The story ,if you can even call it one, is horrible. The characters aren't even really developed outside of Ashe. The game as a whole was a huge disappointment.

The Ivalice Alliance is probably Square's worst idea ever. Not only was XII theirs, but they ruined FFT with the stupid GBA and DS tactics games.

Rogue Galaxy's combat was fucking terrible. Nothing but mashing, and the animation and hit detection was terrible. Plus, having to pause the game to search through menus just to equip a special gun so you could fire one shot at an enemy then go through the whole process to switch back was the worst design decision ever. It was incredibly tedious, and I can't think of any reason why you should need to do that, or if you did need to do it, why all the special guns couldn't be combined. The weapon upgrade system was pretty much a waste of time, and the item factory was a pain in the ass. Like I said, the bug minigame was the best part, but it was way too easy (flip beetles basically mangle everything but the hardest fights).

Other than that, the game was linear and ugly.

FFXII STORY was the normal war torn fantasy world spill, with uber baddy deciding to become bigger baddy and then you defeating him. The story is fine, just unbelievably straight forward and generic...... and slightly bad lol.

But yes the character development didn't exist outside of their first meeting, and Ashe at all. Well except maybe Basch. But it was BAD, and Vaan didn't even exist, let alone be our "main". This is THE most annoying and stupid thing i've seen in a long time from an FF game. I mean really.......

but still it was MUCH better than Rogue, better looking, better music, and definately played out much better than Rogue galaxy even if they were both bad. But FFXII wasn't bad at all, better than XI and better than III lol. I found it quite good, even though i REALLY didn't like it

I have tp agree about the gun PAge, but aside from that I would take Rogue Galaxy any day over XII. Plus XII really was essentially the same thing since attack is so overpowered. Items and Summons are a waste of time, and the magic system is awful. I don't see how they let the magic system stay the way it is. With the slowdown magic takes freaking forever to caste unless it is a really low level spell. Plus the fact that only two high level spells can be caste at the same time is just stupid. I remember I actually used that against a boss once so he was getting a spell out maybe once evry 2 minutes.

BTW I thought the item factory was really addictive.

At last Melee was a good game(heck its a great game). It should be pissing you off that Brawl(which is a terrible fucking game) is more popular that pretty much all non SF fighters combined.

Anyway these games didn't get nearly enough attention.
Jet Set Radio
Tomba
Killer7
Psychonauts
Gun Valkyrie

lol yh phyconaughts was pretty cool. Confused me at times tho.

okami
dark cloud 2
valkerie profile
ogre battle 64
final fantasy tactics(although, i think that got most of the attention it needed)

Tenchu - Wrath of Heaven PS2

It reviewed well but didn't sell nearly enough copies because this game was epic as hell. Especially the mulitplayer.

Rogue Galaxy hate? OMG

Although really, I'm not going to lie, I enjoyed Dark Cloud 2 way more than I did Rogue Galaxy. Granted, I still did enjoy RG (even though it's story was so dumb).

As for RG vs FFXII; give me RG's real time battles with the brilliance that is FFXII's gambit system set up for your AI partners and we're getting some where.

But Valkyria Chronicles mops the floor with both games anyway so lulz.

Onimusha Blade Warriors was so bad......chompy and jumping plains mid battle. But Megaman was fun as hell to play.

for FFXII (this aimed at ID), you have to think on how you use spells, if you think it's too slow then you're clearly using it against something that's right upon your shit lol. Because you can move, how your stationed is important now. I'm not saying it like you're stupid, but you can't pick and choose your moves like you could in any other FF game with this one, although it's not difficult in any way to use any spells, i saw no problem.

Onimusha Blade Warriors wasn't great, but it was good enough, and I'd love a sequel with all the obvious improvements. Jumping from level to level never bothered me.

Rogue Galaxy was a chore to play, who cares about the story? It didn't even look that good.
