In-game character ratings

Punchdrunk

[09] Warrior
If you press square on the character select screen you get a short bio for each character and a rating on their attributes as well as two signature moves and two useful quick attacks. I thought I would throw at least the ratings up here so people have something to argue/speculate about.

Yeah I've got some spare time. Why do something productive when you can color code for half an hour ;)

So how do you think this compares to SCIV? Could it be hinting at some changes? Or do you think it's just a load of bull, since it probably won't correspond to the eventual tiers?

Lol i think this is how Namco balances their games :) What do they mean with "Moves"??

Hilde advanced? WTF? In a row with stance chars like Ivy, Yoshi and Voldo?? I dont get it. This is clearly for newbies....

And yeaah Algols difficulty is NORMAL, take this Algol Haters!

thanks for the list...

Maybe Namco doesn't add an extra A and B for charging, so they play her 'arcade stick' style. That might be why they have her as advanced.

woohoo, all the beginners' favourites/online bores/my personal most hated characters are labeled "easy"...just for the record ;)

hmm lets analyze this a bit.

"A" categories moves are
Amy
Maxi
Raphael
Taki
Talim
Xianghua

They definately are not the most mobile of the cast (so not movement)
It's not safety of the move (why is maxi there)
It's defiantely not the flashiness of the moves ( lol why is talim there?)
I'm thinking it's a strong frame-trap stance game...

Im thinking mobility as in auto-evades and such.
Seems to make the most sense, tho its still not perfectly accurate. Especially if you look at Algol.

Most of these rating make alot of sense, including what has been posted about character changes so far. There's very little I disagree with.

And as OOF already said, it's pretty obvious Hilde's not designed for shoulder button auto-charging, being rated advanced and all.

Moves means difficulty to pull off certain moves. If you have a C, its very difficult to successfully pull off the move you want in the given situation. Ivy's throws and stances are quite a bit, Pulling off lizardmans crawl correctly with attack and GI, Voldo, and Hilde's charging timing.
For B's, you have simple stances, Kilik's Quarter Circle and Sieg's lock stances.
For A's... and now my entire scale gets blown away after seeing Maxi with an A... god damnit...

Pulling off lizardmans crawl correctly with attack and GI
Idk what you're talking about that Crawling Stance is the easiest thing in the world to learn. and the GI on Crawling Stance is weird, since it GI's pretty much every vertical before it even touches Lizzy's shield.
But since this is a PSP im not sure if its harder or not.
Hell even a caveman could do it.

Yay my mains are labelled as Easy... now to feel like a decent player I need to go main Setsuka or some shit.

For A's... and now my entire scale gets blown away after seeing Maxi with an A... god damnit...

Well, Maxi's moves are not difficult to perform, except his JF (and only like two or three are important); they are difficult to apply. Maxi is an easy character (execution wise), but he is very complex.

Come on .. "moves" imo is the amount of pressure the character's stance game can be used to apply a rushdown

taki has her PO/windroll
maxi has his loops
raph has prep/VE
X has her SXS
talim has her stances
amy is amy

However.. that is not as broad a category as difficulty, power, speed, or range thoguh

Mitsurugi
Range: B Strength: A
Speed: B Moves: B
Difficulty: Easy

Yoshimitsu
Range: B Strength: B
Speed: A Moves: B
Difficulty: Advanced

Ok, whatever!!!
