Let me congratulate Thugish_Pond for coming in first and making a great comeback.

Also I want to extend my congrats to NoFaceKiller for putting up a good fight and representing the online scene.

Although there are possibilities of more online players that may also do good offline I rather see for myself.
 
Props to whoever made the bracket for putting me against Thugish in the first round of my first major, needed more asura.

BTW NDK, did you catch your flight or did you have to wait for a later one?

Shoutouts to come later, you guys know how long winded I am so it might take a while. All I'll say is that I forgot just how fun it is to hang with the folks in the community, even while doing other things not involving games. Although I suck at this game I will make more of an effort to travel to events now just to meet other players, have fun and hang out.

Yeah I missed it by like 10 minutes, had to wait 3 hours for the next flight. It didn't cost me anything though so I guess its all good

After playing lolo in FL a couple of weeks ago and seeing how much he's improved since Nats, I'm also quite confident that he would have been the man to beat had he went to Dev. Yoshi is no joke.

Much respect for doing so well with Ivy, Noface. Knowing how dedicated you were in preparing for this tournament it was no surprise to me that you did so well. If you continue like this I'm sure you will be USA's best Ivy come SC5 :).

The drama in this thread is amusing. Sometimes a bit of drama is good. Keeps the forums alive. ;)
 
WTF? Where was all this delicious drama before Devastation? Now people want to post and be all interested in Calibur. At least start some drama before the event or at least bring yo ass. :-P

I do hope that with this drama gets people back into the game because Calibur is still the shit. Plus you won't have the same level of fun in any other game or community. And SC5 is not coming out any time soon if ever, so you might as well get back in and join the fun with the rest of us who play offline.

I think I came up with like 5 pages of shoutouts to post. I'll have to find the time eventually to post it. But just hanging around Calibur folk is so much fun. I don't know what is about yall, but do continue to travel, and possibly bring some of that drama to Philadelphia where I'm at. I got more infrastructure over here.

It maybe to some people, but not to me. All i've done so far in this thread is the following:

1. ask lost providence to stop posting items that'll lead nowhere.
2. correct Mamba
3. Gave shoutouts
4. correct mamba AGAIN

Other than that i can't speak for anyone else. Maybe if Mamba would watch what he posts, i wouldn't have to waste my time and correct him. He seems like one of those dudes that if you don't tell him he's being an idiot, he's going to continue to be one.

I should know....i can be like that too. Normally had Thugish been a mod or admin him and this was the old me 5 years ago....i probably would've been banned from here

Someone else mentioned it but I also wanted to congratulate NinjaCW for top 8 at Dev SSF4. But more so for that ass whuppin u almost handed down to Filipino Champs Dhalsim. So close and that shit was godlike use of Makoto. The look on his face while I was watching the stream after u beat his ass the first match was priceless! Yea he didn't probably didn't expect half the things that happened to him to happen. Plus once I actually got in he couldn't safely get me out.

After the first match I was kinda clueless as well because it happened so fast and I didn't expect it to happen that way. Then he took a breather and adjusted and kept me out as well. I had never fought a Dhalsim until then that could keep me away so it was quite the learning experience for me and I know what to do next time that will maybe give me the edge.

I only lost to Filipino Champ and Combo Fiend in tournament play so there was no shame there. I did get to play with Valle though and that was quite the fun match haha.
 
Hopefully there is a next time, cause if a major like Dev only brought 32 people, I'm scared of the attendance of future majors. Either way, met new people and hopefully see you guys around sc5 or whatever
 
If anybody made plans to go to Evo thinking that there would be a SC4 tourney and realized that it's not in the roster, or wasn't able to make it to Dev and can't wait for the next tourney. Come to Houston which will have Texas's best in attendance, Including the BEST Cervy in the Universe (Nori)

Well, DEV was an absolute blast. I really hope SCIV is there next year, or there's a side tourney. Anyways, shout out times.

Vodka: For making me drink you, and make fuzzy yet great memories.

Destinizish: Thanks bro for the place to stay. You were fucking awesome with the car and staying sober while we all drank our asses off. Thanks so much, great player and great friend. You are still a creeper though.

Lobo: We got incredibly drunk, and I'd have to say we were the top 2 most wasted Calibur players there. Props, good games and hope to see you again. You were also one of the most hilarious people I've ever met.

DREAMKILLER: OMGAH, Max, you are fucking hilarious. Thanks for being the one to make me laugh the entire time, and thanks for hooking it up with the drinks at the bar and paying half of it for me, lol. You are truly an amazing Calibur player, like I said before, and we need to kick it again soon and kanoodle.

Thugish_Pond: Aside from you horrible SC skill, you were an awesome person;). just fuckin, you are an amazing player from what I've seen, and pretty much what NFK said, that it's the players skill and Amy just compliments your style very well. Congrats on 1st place. We did have a lot of laughs, and yes, I remember some of the drunk ones too. I need to see those vids again, lol. Anyways, hopefully I'll make it out to the East to Idle's tournament. If not, we'll see each other and kick it again.

Noface: Fucking yes! You were playing so well, and then that last round was just a mind-fuck. But bro, congrats on making second place, and awesome that you put up a tough fight. Even though you've played in offline tournaments before, you and I man... team online. Sad to see you retiring, get a PS3 and hit me up. Good meeting you bro, best Ivy I've played.

KrayzieCD: Good to finally meet you man. You are an awesome player offline and online, and the shit talking was very entertaining. Hopefully we'll meet again soon and I'll get my ass whooped by Maxi again, lol. Good Games man.

Nori: Thanks for the side-line coasching, and the compliments on my skill. Your Cervy was the best cevry there. mine was just the one trying to make it through to 6thplace, lmao. Anyways, awesome dude, loved the shit talking, you were great to play against. Hopefully we'll do it again soon.

Chickenwing: Thanks for the compliments too, and I think you're an awesome player as well. Sorry for the drunk MM threats, I was pretty much blacked out. Anyways, good games from the little we've played.

AUGUSTIN: Good Games man, you were the one person aside lobo and dest who I played the most. Nice Yoshi, and Mitsu, hopefully we'll get more good games in too.

King_Salmon: I can't believe you broke the B grab....... lmfao, nah, great games man. Awesome Mitsu, very solid and very patient. Add me on PSN, I know it's not the same as offline, but whatever. You were tough, I was rooting for you man to take the gold since you took me out of the tourney lol. But yeah, good shit and hope to play you again soon.

There's also NEC XI here in Philly in December. And people are more than welcome to come through and get games in with us, or just bs and drink.

As far as numbers, we're not going to have the numbers like Street Fighter or Tekken. As long as the talent shows up, it doesn't matter to me. But I don't mind the smaller numbers because I was able to pretty much meet everyone who came through including DivineChaos who also came through but did not enter Calibur and have a banging ass time. I can barely get anyone in Tekken or SF to give me a hello. Whatever.

And I know no one from overseas was able to make it to anything here in America this year, but Calibur is still going and there's still stuff to go to. Or if we're back at Devastation next year, plan to come to that. I hope to see you guys soon and meet more new faces.

Regardless good stuff man! Is she ur permanent main? I'm still struggling with a permanent main character. Not sure who to main at all. If she's ur permanent main its a good look to since people dismissed her. If u get good enough u'll even have a unique identity as pretty much the only Makoto that places great :)
 
I enjoyed NinjaCW fights in SSF4 as well. Good stuff man, that sim was running scared...if you had been more patient you would have outclassed him I am sure.
 
That was best time i had in along time.! I saw new and old faces. Great matches! during and after tourney. I will post props later......
Hajime- My bad dude. Some of the vids I recorded of u had focus issues, so I bought a cannon camera. I will post up the vids anyway.
