[12] Conqueror
With SCV around the corner, what will be in store for Chai Xianghua? Will Namco rescue her storyline from the forgotten trenches of 16th Century warfare?
To summarise:
X was taught slick sword skillz by her mother, from the moment she was old and strong enough to hold a sword. She learned up to 10 years old, when her mother sadly got sick and died.
You see, X's ma was a child prodigy, trained at a super-awesome monk temple, and surpassing most of the teachers at swordplay while still young. Presumably she was also a piece of ass, as she was getting regular pork sword from a sex pest called Kong, who was also pretty nifty with the bo staff (think an older, uglier Kilik).
Things didn't turn out too well for the young lovers, as poor Xiangfei (as she was known) got pregnant, and one of the more worldly monks must've noticed, 'cos they took her baby after 2 years of nurturing. She went back to her wealthy family, heartbroken and dejected, demanding that virile Kong continue to train at the temple.
Kong thought it'd be better to steal Soul Calibur (which the monks kept at the temple as a sacred relic) and give it to Xiangfei, even though it changed to a battered, sorry looking blade by the time he gave it to her. He promptly left the temple in much shame and dishonour.
In the meantime, young Xianglian trained at the temple, never knowing of her shameful past, and making very very very very very good friends with a young orphan named Kilik (though their relationship was purely plutionic, the SC developers assure us).
Unfortunately things were never going to end while for little Xianglian either. When the lad Siegfried decided to pick up the inert Soul Edge (at the end of the first game), this action completely plausibly sent random pockets of people around the world completely mental. One such pocket was the assembled monks at the Ling-Sheng Su temple, and they all proceeded to kill each other, except for lucky Kilik who was protected by Xianglian throwing her inherited mirror of awesomeness, the Dvapara Yuga, around his shoulders. He returned the favour by murdering her, along with lots of other bloodthirsty monks, awaking to find he was the only one left. (Disclaimer: certain important details have been left out here for the sake of space)
What Xiangfei hadn't told anyone all those years ago is that she'd left the temple carrying Kong's second child. So X grew up knowing nothing of her older sister or drunken father.
Anyway, undeterred by the passing of her mother, X carried on training, got to join the Imperial Guard, went on a secret mission to find Soul Edge, met Kilik and Maxi, single-handedly beat the Inferno, thereby sealing away Soul Calibur and Soul Edge for a time, and then didn't tell anyone.
That was an abbreviated version of her awesome SC1 story. Now for 2, 3, 4...
X wants Kilik to do naughty things to her. Kilik is too busy playing with his rod. Zas busts up Kilik and X is frickin' too scared to fight him. X is full of doubt. The end.
X now (and by now I mean around 1595 A.D.) waits patiently for SCV to come out, in the hope that she hasn't been completely abandoned to the character recycling bin for teenage dating novels and softcore FanFics about lesbian romps with Seong Mina.
Do you have any ideas for X's story to develop a little this time around? (I guess we should be thankful that she's even still in it up to now)
