SCV- New CHARACTER ideas

I would say someone with hookswords, but that style would be so similar to Zas to not notice. . .

Hmm. . . .

A YO-YO. They were originally designed to be used as weapons, so why not?

Or maybe a flail user? Hell s/he can even use those stances Ivy had in SCII where she would swing her whip around.

No.
Another popular but fabricated story of the yo-yo is that of a centuries old Filipino weapon. The story is about an assailant in a tree with a heavy oversized yo-yo waiting for a victim to pass below. At the critical moment the yo-yo would be hurled at the victim’s head presumably rendering him unconscious. A near miss would still allow the assailant a second opportunity. Physics of the yo-yo make the story improbable. Although there is no question that the toy existed in the Philippines for centuries, as a popular toy, there is no documented evidence that it was ever used as a jungle weapon. The story was popularized by Duncan yo-yo demonstrators in the ‘30s, many of whom were from the Philippines. It was a great story and helped to sell yo-yos, but it has been repeated so often that it has become an urban legend.

About the viking axe, this style of one-handed axe is what I'm talking about:

day_ward_axe.jpg

Yes,but bet your house that if Namco do it the size of the axe will be at least similar (if not bigger) of the one in the video i posted... is like Sieg zweinhander be nearly big as Gatsu's Dragon Slayer, they just love the thing of the western warrior with big ass heavy weapon :D
Even Sophi's "short sword" in real world will be fucking heavy :D

But i get what you say, with a "little" axe like that the style will be waaay faster than the usual viking slow-powerfull stereotype.
Maybe they can give him a body built and one-hand-axe like SC2 Spawn (muscular and very tall)

where else is a source of blue eyed blonde caucasians closest to japan ?
Arthur is a blond blue eyes in Japan too and he's from England
Really no reason to say that Setsuka is from Russia
Wich place is more "near" make little sense (specially if you have to travel walking through Mongolia, good luck), since at the time most europeans that reach Japan where merchants that reach it on ship. Most probable places are imho England (the "Mary Poppins" SC4 costume may be a hint?) or Holland

Going by the european people with the most presence in Japan, it would be the portugese, in this era. But Setsuka certainly doesn't look hispanic, making England the likeliest choice.

Yep,exactly my reasoning :D

Though it would look stuper anime-ish, I think a 14 year-old Asian kid that looks and sounds exactly like Short Round from "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom", wieldin' a bladed Yo-Yo would be Hilarious and pretty damn cool at the same time [joke, but not really]!

some have said Scandinavia too, in particular Sweden because blonde hair is very common there. but maybe England too, especially because of her 2p in SC4

what do you think about Tira too? some just keep assuming German simply because her weapon has a German name but I'm not that sure.

Tira was raised in Germany, her weapons have manily german names, so is fair to assume she is german, besides German people is crazy XD (i'm looking at you ger-calibur community XD)

People from Portugal are European.

That said, I figured Setsuka was supposed to be British based on her anachronistic Mary Poppins SCIV 2P outfit.

1- Camon dude, you know what he mean :D
Tall blond pale skin babes exist also in Portugal,Spain and here in Italy too, but you know that usually are an awesome local product of north Europe, specially Sweden,Norway,Holland,Germany and so on... but yes,is a reasoning that make a little sense in a game where we have an entire greek family where all seem swedish :D

2- Yes,i support this theory :D

I want a freaking RUSSIAN!!! and plz no more characters from: Greece, France, England, Germany, love those countries but enough is enough.

Some bullshit theory/dream about what type of gameplay can have the characters i will like see in SC :D

-A scottish or Irish warrior with bastard sword. Somebody with that tough mercenary look.
This i must have a brawler aggressive pressure gameplay.
Poor on defense, often unsafe and not the most umpredictable dude around, but he compensate with a good combination of power-speed-range and decent RO game with some good launchers.
A lot of guard cruching moves.
Maybe a couple of dirty mercenary style tricks, but overall his gameplay is just to beat up you
Basically the straight simple angry badass with heavy hands
Whe have a Musashi,we have a Sigfrid,we have a Conan,we have even a Lestat
Why the fuck we can't have a Wallace in SC :D

braveheart.bmp

-An arabian warrior with scimitar, no middle east is a big lack in SC history.
Give him a turban, give him that fucking evil-villain-90's-movie little beard, make him fast, elegant and deadly.
As way to move visually may be like Hwang, with a lot of A (horizontal) elegant and precise slashes, but more balanced about attack-defense,he can do well both things.
Weak at RO and may have problems even at get knock downs, but he compensate with quickness,a lot of combos and a lot of mid A attacks. Basically not an epic original concept, but something that as etnic/culture variety SC need a lot

-An italian "Weapon Master",with rapier + parry dagger. All technique and full of counters.
Oh,my favourite one :D
Assuming that Raph is still here (i fear not),they can give an ancient fencing version of Ken vs Ryu
Where Raph travel forward,he prefer use the 8wr and move circle, Raph have the first move, he prefer defend and punish, Raph like multiple attacks, he work to find an open and use a massive damage deadly combo at the right moment.
Imagine him as the classic skill-reward character, weak in noob's hands but deadly if used by a technical player

-A Zulu warrior! Big ass wood shield and a spear. Make him tall as Asta but slim.
Make his rythm frenetic and unpredictable.
A true example of body type apply on a BeU.
On SC we have the classic BIG-power in Asta and the classic SMALL-quick in Talim, but that's all.
That Zulu warrior will be the TALL-range character, but a true long range character, not a well rounded like Kilik.
Remember Bruce Lee vs Abdul Jabbar? Imagine Jabbar's range if he get a spear :D
tumblr_l55f8ucb2e1qahktao1_500.jpg

Make him built like a basketball player: tall, long arms and a spear.
His gameplan will be all about keep you at long distance, where all his best moves are,he got good variety of attacks and most of opponents can't reply and anyway from that range is waaay better than the few people(Ivy,Kilik, maybe Asta) that can.
On the other hand he have obviously big problems when the opponent gain the close range, and from here he must work with shield push/hits/punches,throws and push kicks to gain againg the long distance

-An heavy armored european kight, maybe a fat-ass (SC never got a fat-ass :D) with an huge flail, all based on follow the flow... as gameplay imagine him as a epic powerfull but slow fat ass Maxi :D

I said kinda like Maxi, why? Because like for the Zulu i will like another example of body type apply on a BeU.
I will like it being a HEAVY-inertial force character.
Heavy him, heavy his armor, heavy the weapon... i like the idea that when he start he can't stop himself (obviously he can,but being a lot unsafe and punishable) or being stopped by the opponent, his only option is follow the flow and continue his slow(but like Maxi with many options) fatass combo.
Difference with Maxi will be that where Elvis work with speed to surprize you and beat your reflexes , the fatass want force you to block and be pushed untill he can use his guard crush attacks (3rd? 4th?) of his combos,to break your guard and inflict massive damage.
Not powerfull damage as Asta, but more powerful than him at pushing(RO and wall combos)

Basically if Asta is the muscle wrestler of SC,he can be the unstoppable sumo fatass :D

I agree that a Zulu Spear and shield would be awesome. Make a beautiful black girl like Elena from SF3 use the Zulu weapons. Also, I'd like to state once again, that we need someone from the UK who wields a longsword. NOT a massive anime Buster sword or a fencing rapier, but a good old King Arthur's Excalibur sized Longsword. Please! A proper Knight's weapon.

I just had this really random but potentially awesome idea for BANGOOOOOOOO!

Bangoo fights with a combination of awesome wrestling, half-MacGyver-ed martial arts combat he picked up from some random shoulin monks and ninjas and a sizable viking-esque battleaxe. (I know Rock uses a mace these days but I kinda want to relive the axe days . . . call it sentiment).
His neutral stance has his axe strapped to his back most of the time where he draws it in vainglorious flourishes when he swings. On top of that, his attack patterns should be mixed and varied, giving him this awesome albeit slightly chaotic fighting style a la Yoshimitsu with less ninja magic and more boisterous youth.
An example for some of his moves would be:
*AA= He swings his axe and follows up with a quick roundhouse to the nose.
*236 A+B= He dive-tackles someone to the ground and give their exposed face a punch or two.
*6BB:K= After two heavy battleaxe swings, BOOM! Surprise GB uber-fancy token martial arts spinning dragon kick to the kisser that sends the opponent flying backwards.
*WR KK= That flipkick-to-dropkick combo Necrid had back in the SC2 days, complete with the GB drop kick, but Bangoo executes the flipkick in a messier fashion and after the drop kick he lands prone and wallows in pain for a second and says "Ow, my ass!" unless you just-input the second kick to stick the landing or something.

Also he should have grapple options out the wazoo, something to give ol' Astaroth a run for his money. Overall the idea is that Bangoo should be fun and funny to play. I guess I'm taking him on the same vein as Yun-Seong with both the excited youth personality and the whole combine-your-weapon-training-with-crazy-crap-you-made-up/learned-from-random-strangers fighting style, but that's my two cents.
If they did this, I'd main Bangoo in a heartbeat.
