Taki's Replacement Revealed?!

This week Daishi has been teasing that he might do an early reveal of one of the two silhouettes posted about a week ago. He's been asking which of the two silhouettes people want to see most, and today he gives us an early look at a brand new female character!

Daishi has been rather glib on whether or not Taki would be returning. However, with the reveal of this character, it can be assumed that Taki may only play a secondary role in Soul Calibur 5.

Such a disappointment,such a character can never replace Taki.
I guess there is still a chance that Taki might not get replaced,the characters of SCV are trash so far..

 

People are seriously hating on her because she's blonde and has what could be loosely interpreted as a smile. Must be a outcast-in-highschool-white guy thing. I swear I should've gotten even more fucked up tonight before I came here.

 

taki was a serious type maybe they just think there should be someone with a more outgoing energetic attitude. they probably got tired of the whole demon begone thing. plus she is a teenager probably so she will be somewhat immature which makes sense because of the feminine but somewhat childish twist on her clothing. i like her. she could also be one of those "i enjoy what i do" or "appearance is decieving" type of people. when we see her fight we will know.

 

Dude, what are you talking about? Are you saying it's a dumb design? Your line about sexism doesn't really connect. Are you saying she looks dumb as in mentally? Pretty sure that would make you the one generalizing dude.

i'm referring to the fact that in japanese (popular) culture, women (and girls especially) are often portraited as being the naive, dumb (+blonde) pink poodle that this new fella embodies quite accurately (at least visually). taki was pretty much the opposite of that and men usually aren't portrayed that way at all. i honestly can't think of any such male character in a fighting game right now...

i've lived through such a transformation in several game franchises. take ling xiaoyu from tekken 3 versus ling xiaoyu from tekken 5 or 6. they just aren't comparable personality-wise for the later ling is much more naive and "cutesy" as some like to put it here.

and btw: as you can obviously infer from my posts, i'm not very fond of that kind of concept.

 

Ya know though I am thankful to Daishi for the early peek. Just gotta say that. Wouldn't want him to think against doing such a thing again in the future.

She's a ninja... with pink hilts, pink sheaths and pink fingernails. I think it's understandable some people would find that ridiculous. Especially for fans of Taki who got used to a more serious type of ninja (even though she was oblivious to what she was wearing).

 

Nope, that's fuckin' silly. If anything, just proves how quick people are to judge others without knowing a thing about them! But wuteva, it's fuggin' four, so I'm going sleep. Toodles.

I don't want the moves,i want Taki herself,her personality,sexiness,almost everything that Taki is.She's the demon killer,none can replace that.

 

If Tira is not returning, i think this girl is going to be my main since i like Taki too.

You gotta remember something. Thing is there's been a time jump. The time jump we made has moved us from the situation we knew and put us all the way smack dab in the middle of a little territory I like to call " terra incognita" or in layman's terms: in the dark. Bearing in mind that time has moved forward on us most of those characters are likely not going to be young anymore. Who knows which ones will be back or how their personalities have changed?

So let's avoid making judgments on how full the roster is of anything before we know the roster.

I couldn't careless about her,aslong as she's replacing Taki,she's just trash,even her look,she looks 12,if Taki's leaving,it's all her fault,alot of Taki players that i know will hate her..
