lol I believe no-one has yet posted this; but I think that we should see how his style of fighting will turn out to be like before we make assumptions. In my opinion I think it will be pretty cool from the gameplay we have seen so far.

Typical evil, what do you have against black people? I know you meant no harm, but it kinda harms me as someone who is black even though I'm half asian. We have to look noble? Screw that. Zasalamael would have fan favorites if he was voiced by Samuel L. Jackson in a Afro samurai way lol. But seriously, I didn't find shakka jah offensive but educating otherwise. Gatsu's approach is basically exposing the culture that not many people care about. As for image? I wouldn't care if he became a goodie two-shoes or a bad man for it's a fantasy game. Point is, a viking, tribal character, etc.? I would interested in variety instead of stereotypical. In any case, this is my opinion on the matter.

yep...early built so far thats true..and i m sure his fighting style will be at least more "manly" than soph/cass (concerning moveset,animations,stance etc ) if you know what i mean.
but the shield size...its too small for the fighting style i d loved to see...leonidas would disaprove :D (also i meant with change spear/sword)

I don't think it is racist when you are acknowleding an actual culture base.
racism is either being an antagonist to a group of people for no reason beyond race or belief that a race possesses characteristics unique to itself that create a hierarchy of superior and inferior races.
Making a character designed after a person that really existed and should, to this day, be respected is none of the above things.

Soul calibur is a medieval times themed game and I believe it should stay that way, I want black people but, in elegant places in SC's history. I want more black characters in high status, not how WE knew them from the past. I still say that there is just not enough of just regularly likable black characters in japanese media. I don't see where a tribal can be an embrassing stereotype and rarely anyone of that culture living in america wants to be seen in that way. Everyone wants to and rather be moderned or Europeanized rather. Not enough black people getting bigger roles to the characters. I'd hate to see another lizardman if a tribal man's motivation will be no more similar.

The way you say that you want them in high status rather than a damn military genius makes me think you want Obama to show up in a suit wielding double SMG's.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with having an African tribal character in the game since that is historically accurate (since when was Zasalamel even accurate, or African for that matter, he seems more Babylonian-influenced). Besides, Namco has a great way of introducing characters that are nearly culturally accurate (I mean, was there ever racism backlash over Taki being a ninja of all things, or Zasalamel wearing a white robe and carrying a scythe?), and even if Namco does introduce a new African tribal character, I don't think they'd actually be grunting like barbarians and yelling nonsense like what modern (and stupid) media represents them as.

Why would anyone hate Taki? there were ninjas in japan, TAki is japanese, America loves ninjas. High status? I didnt say they had to be king or queen status, but on a respetable educated level. I see nothing wrong with the picture I posted and would rather it. Id rather see eveyone on the same level of industrial weath (with small if not some minor or unnoticable difference) I'll be open minded. I just dont want to see them look like Lizardman, I would be satisfied with:
(being accurate also means looking at all areas, Africans have clothing and fabric, may not be of china's elegance but this is soul calibur and spiritual shaman should stand out.)

lol, my own idea for a fan wielder. You can see she's based off of Setsuka, but moreso a traditional geisha. I don't think she'll actually be a geisha, though. Just someone who poses as one, to steal and get her way around things.

...Shaka Zulu was a king, and a renown military genius. That alone is higher status than pretty much everyone in SC. Again- he was the black Napoleon. You know that french/italian guy, emperor of most of europe?
The only other way you'd get a high status black man in the SC era is by way of the Moors, who by the time of SC, had been pushed out of Europe. Heck, by the time SC happens, the slave shipments from Africa had begun.
You could even have that be the motivation- a tribal warrior realizes they can't win against the technologically superior europeans, so he sets out to get SE/SC to drive them away. Kinda Yun-Seong/Hwangish, though.
And again, Shaka Zulu chose his clothing over the european one, seeing as he traded with the European(he got guns). He was PROUD of his heritage.

Double fan? Do want. Well in fact I want anyone with a bran new fighting style. Also a dancer-theme character would be interesting.
A character designed after Predator would be cool too. I don't mean a monster, only a character inspired in him. A male character with dreadlocks and an armor similar to Predators, with bones and teeth decoring it. For weapon...a spear would be nice.

Now, when did I say they were? or is that one line the only thing you read to base your argument on? why not go back a page. And I doubt Native Africans play SC. Most blacks in North America are over urbanized and have forgotten their real roots.

You may certainly be right that FEW play SC in Africa. But to claim none, is likely not correct.
