Soul Calibur 5 Guest/Bonus/CAS Character Discussion

...lol, what the fuck are you talking about. I was able to play online with my friend perfectly fine when he used a character with DLC pieces on.

That's because the "DLC" is already on the disc.

If it was really extra conten't you couldn't fight against them, because since you don't have that content installed. You can because you have it in the disc, is blocked, but is there.

That's why I said in the other thread that they shouldn't put DLCs at all, because it aren't DLC it are "blocked content".

It would be nice if a game would get some new features thanks to dlcs time to time, to extend its life, but the reality is (at least in fighting games) there is not really true DLC, so it's better if it doesn't have "DLC" at all

Some DLC will be required to keep people wanting to play this game. It's simple marketing. If it was me I'd make all character's old costumes (from Soul Blade to Soul Calibur IV) DLC because I would certainly buy it. But make it so you are able to buy which characters old costumes that you want.

Ezio Auditore. He has a nice arsenal and a badass style. I'd love Nariko more than anyone, but I think she is way outdated to make it in. Another unlikely possibility would be Jamie Lanister, from Game of Thrones.

NBG is going to put a character in this game that is at the very least relevant so people will go out and buy it. No offense to a few of the suggestions placed here, some of them are just simply umm "out there." I don't know when this game is coming out (2012 I know), but I figure that it will coincide with any hyped games that are coming out within the same time frame.

Ezio = Assassin's Creed Revelations
Lightning = Final Fantasy XIII-2
Commander Shepard = Mass Effect 3
Booker Dewitt = Bioshock Infinite
Jin Kazama = Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Ryu Hayabusa = Ninja Gaiden 3

Much like the vibe I got from SCIV, I expect them to appeal to a more western audience (what major J-Games aren't these days) and if that is indeed the case, I highly expect the above mentions to draw some sort of casual interest in the game from a marketing perspective. This isn't even considering that they may have console exclusives.

1-Kudos my friend,Ezio is THE solution :D

2-and aside this, she's from a PS3-only game and this alone kill her chances (they said no character specific guest)

3- As much i usually hate the idea of guest from fantasy world (SC is yes fantasy, but set on "real" world)
GoT characters are so fucking SCish!
Not only Jaime, think also Syrio Forel,Khal Drogo,The Hound and The Mountain and many many others... "Shagga like axes" XD
SC need a Bronn like char :D
Just to say,is not going to happen, but still GoT epicness deserve respect :D

Just picture Ezio having stances to use the short blade and a big weapon... using the hidden blades at throws, hidden gun and throwing knives for unblockables and the apple for a Critical Fin... oh... I forgot they won't be in the game :(

as if time matters?

I take your point, but then retaliate. The Star Wars characters truly ruined the aesthetic because they didn't fit with the time/continuum (and style) of Soul Calibur. While it is true that 三國演義 wouldn't completely throw off the historical aesthetic, I still don't see the "point" of them showing up in the 1600's.

why is everyone getting boners for Ezio
-is from a multi-console recent games and will sell A LOT (wich is GC only real reason)
-rare case of cool western chara design, and will fit well with SC style (just to say, Ezio is waaaay more SCish than Zwei)
-as background too he will fit with SC (Europe during Renaissance)
-he will bring in a original style, but without have bullshit special/magic powers
-they may consider a remake of the epic awesome Venice stage to give him a personal one
-It will give a good popularity boost as guest, but still will not be "invasive" at all, basically the opposite as SW trash that you can't ignore even if you want

The points above will make him the best Guest SC ever had,by far

Well, Heihachi "fits" the best. :-P

I don't know either i think he would be better in a hand to hand fighting game
He use blades

And specially, basically Namco yet made a SC character that copy his weapon

Is just about build a badass deadly moveset instead a clown joke one

lmao, while having Ezio seems cool, the character alone is kinda...boring haha. Being an assassin alone seems bland for SC standards, which is known for their unique fighting styles and outrageous character design.

Ezio pales in uniqueness in comparison to other SC assassins, such as Taki, Tira, and Voldo. (The latter two not having any "magical voodoo crap" to use with them)

Don't impute Taki's bad-ass ninja-ery to be mere "magical voodoo crap."
