Soul Calibur 5 Guest/Bonus/CAS Character Discussion

Lmao Samurai Showdown? Jesus I would rather jump on the Mario/Sonic/Lightning Bandwagon before I allow SS in this.
Fuck ignorance
SS is probably the closest and most compatible thing to SC in the BeU world

To be honest some (many?) SS characters are MORE "Soul Calibur style" than some true SC characters

Yes demonic-dark-gay-biker-steel-pokemon-trainer, 90% of the SS characters is more SC than you

HELLO!
In soul calibur 2 they had a guest character that was specific to that gaming platform. Not Yoda for xbox and Vader for playstation. And you can buy them at some point so you can have both. BOOO! I liked spawn and link and heihachi. I think that they should do something like that again. And only one guest character, not three. Like how they used kratos(sp?) for broken destiny. If they were to bring any final fantasy characters into the soul calibur world, how would that work? How could they work that into the story? Isn't Lightning on another planet in FFXIII? So they would have to write a final fantasy character in the story like how they wrote in darth vader and yoda which did nothing for soul calibur. It would be nice to play as a final fantasy character in soul calibur v but it isnt very realistic to the way the story is going in soul calibur v.
As far as bonus characters NO MORE ANIME! Angol fear....all i can say is why? They should have brought li long, hwang authur, and the people that sealed algol away and left it with that for the bonus. I didn't quite understand why they had these four random females that other people designed for the game. Not only that but they had other characters fighting styles. If they are going to bring bonus characters back i think they should be characters that were in previous soul calibur games.

unless the french man appears in SC5 wouldn't that mean he was a guest character too? He wasn't bonus character status because he was a copycat character that knocked off someone else.

I noticed that there isn't a thread strictly for creating a character and I wanted to know what you guys thought about character creation and customization. What are your expectations for the two modes? Example, I feel as though you should be able to give your character a real character's fighting style, or give them something unique. I also feel as though their clothes should be more detailed and I think that you should have first and second costumes of characters availble for your character like in Broken Destiny, except the clothes should come from all of the other SC games.

if they stick with having standard and special versus i think they should keep stats and skill points on clothing and equipment because that gave you a lot more to work on with your characters than just looks,i know id spend hours on mine,it would defintly add something more and fun to the game so it should be improved,in particular edit characters need to be concentrated on to make there more like your own,so obviously more voice and face options, hair etc,you should be able to control there size to about as small as talim or smaller to tall as ivy(obviously talking for females)but your characters should be able to get a bit taller than the characters i think, apart from astaroth

you should be able to change the colour of your weapon for anyone ofcourse
something really cool would be to make your own style!maybe it would be a bit much but it would be amazing, pick your weapon and be able to pick and mix between certain characters moves aslong as they could be balanced somehow? infact no thats a crazy idea and woudnt work, forget that so how about

been able to pick from a few edit characters moves for each style and the real characters should have a few of there own unique ones too so your edits and the real characters dont have excatly the same style

Things I'd love to see in CAS? I like the menu system they used in IV, it works fast and easily so I'd like them to keep that. Broken Destiny let you use the standard character outfits on custom characters and I really liked that, hoping it carries over. Maybe physique options seperated by body part would be nice instead of the muscle/skinny or fat grid they had in IV. Also individual facial feature tweaking, even as simple as face/age/eyes/nose/mouth and ears. Also the ability to alter the facial expression to match the voice, as well as more voices. I personally would love a height and age slider, though I know height has hitbox issues maybe having a range between Amy and Ivy for the female and the shortest male to Asteroth for the guys would limit the problem somewhat.

Clothing wise, of course the more they have, the better. Would be nice if every color area of the clothing parts was alterable, weapons too, and the ability to "layer" pieces that make sense on the same body part.

Perfect example, I made Saber from Fate/Stay Night using the princess dress, iron gauntlets and iron boots and I think she came out great but if I could have layered a breastplate on the dress it would have been perfect.

I want:

- The variety of clothing layering found in SC3. Though this time, instead of Armor (Top) and Armor (Bottom) having completely different items, it should be the same for each one, so you can mix around with clothing more efficiently. This goes for all other layered sections.
- Give us the 1P costume pieces, as well as any bonus character pieces (not guest). You do not know how much I wanted a character with Shura's katanas, Ashlotte's metal skirt, and Kami's horns in SCIV. Oh, and Ivy's strings.
- Put various costume pieces from previous Soul installments on sale in DLC packs.
- Remove stat changes from clothing pieces. I can never make the perfect fighter without him having abysmal statistics. Leave the stat changes to the special equipment (jewels and rings, etc.) and the weapons.
- Have better facial options. It annoys me to no end how the male faces are one young, and nine old. And how the first two female faces look beautiful, while the rest look like manly bodybuilders. Give us some facial sliders and facial hair options.
- Combine the Muscularity and Physique graphs with the height option on Broken Destiny.
- Give us the option to rotate and resize equipment from Broken Destiny as well. Everyone hates it when your character's leg goes right through their skirt.
- Want more legible underwear. Boxers please, and keep tattoos, body hair, and possible scar options in another section.
- Give us a proper variation of hairstyles.

...That's about it right now.

Oh hell no. Like WTF? Are you serious? DLC? I hated having to pay extra money for content that was already in the disc... I mean, why would you want them to make you pay twice for a bunch of CaS clothes? If they put CaS clothes in DLC it would have to be in the disc, but locked. Otherwise, you would not be able to play with someone that has one of those pieces equiped...

As for what I expect, is that at least you can make any possible SCIII and SCIV CaS from the very begging of the game, and you can unlock all the pieces needed to make every single playable character in the series in all of their outfits. That includes lizardmen and demons.

...lol, what the fuck are you talking about. I was able to play online with my friend perfectly fine when he used a character with DLC pieces on.

Does anyone else find this statement terribly funny? Supernatural? Nightmare/Taki/Cervantes/Ivy/Siegfried/Raphael/Astaroth/Lizardman Says hello.
Yes, this was badly expressed. I confess that I don’t have an especially good reason to not want Dante in the game (handgun-wielding aside) other than “I don’t like Dante.” So sue me, I think I back up most of my other points well enough to compensate. ;-)

I agree! U brought up a lot of points I didn't consider, like the body types. I agree is all I can say!

I feel you! U also brought up valid points! Keep it coming lol

That's exactly what I mean. The DLC shit is already in your disc, what you play for is a one-line-code that enables you to use them in your CaS. Same with Vader. Otherwise, load times for a match with any of those elements would take FOREVER.

well by saying stuff like that i forgot about all the more obvious things id love, what these guys have mentioned like having pieces of characters costumes likes ivys strings etc,all the facial options need to be specific instead of just picking a face you should be able to customize, eyes, facial expressions and so on
another annoying thing was for the women in particular if you wanted them more bulky instead of skinny it would also give them a six pack, the muscularity and physique wasnt set out very well and all the different aspects of the body should be set out seperatly

umm therell be loads of things but its just not coming to me right now..
well all the costumes from past soul calibur games should be available too, things should be free we dont want to have to pay for these things, though i can see them doing it,theyll make money out of it some way
in general there just needs to be full scale customization available, for all face/body features/clothing layers, need to be able to change colour of eveything,so it even alows extreme things that people may not use but we want lots of options open to us so we dont feel limited in any way i dont want to go into too much detail or ill end up writing pages, but you get the idea

Cloud/Sephiroth would have actually been good if the machine behind the franchise didn't completely exhaust (or shall I say exploit) the game for every single penny, completely destroying the credibility of the characters in the process. The problem is is that SquareEnix is trying to convince everyone that FFXIII is the new FFVII and Lightning the poster girl for the company, so if SC gets a FF character you can almost guarantee its Lightning, if only for franchise image purposes.

Or for a blast from the past, Anyone from Legend of Dragoon(most likely Dart). How crazy would it be to see them either unleash some high powered magic or summon a dragon as their 'critical edge'? Besides how awesome would it be to see a character from LoD again?
Man i would main Levitz if he was in Gust of Wind Dance FTW

I would like to see some characters from the Tales series like Jade Curtiss and Guy Cecil from Abyss or Yuri Lowell and Raven from Vesperia

Edit: Please no Bayonetta her charactter design and fighting style is terrible IMO

That is true. Whatever guest we get is merely for advertising purposes. They did it in SCII and, since it was sucessful, everyone wants to use it as a way of advertising badass characters. The living example would be using not one, but THREE StarWars characters just to advertise the force unleashed. Namco Bandai's upcomming games also has a lot to do with it -or why else would we get the apprentice instead of ObiWan or C3PO or some other more important SW character?

I just hope that they use a recognizable character and not just shit to advertise their upcoming RPG's...

If Dart was put in I would enjoy using him to destroy scrubs who desperately wanted Cloud and Sephiroth. Unlike FF7 which is worshipped to an insane degree today LOD was a pretty solid game for its time and could use more respect. While its story was far from original its Additions mechanic actually took a fair amount of concentration and practice. You had to be awake to win fights in LOD which is more than I can say of FF7. So he gets the stamp of approval from me that is if they were to actually put him in.
