Yes, that's kinda how I knew it was french.
And also of "the Count of Monte Cristo"

Graf = Count

Basically his major works are one about the most iconic french fencers with rapier(from wich a SC char is born) and one about a fallen betrayed french that after 14 years return with new identity(all believe is dead) as a Count and want vengeance.

Let's talk about Raph :D

ps: but if Nightmare is Raphael... who teh fuck is Raphael(the one with rapier)?

I'm gonna crack the fuck up if one of my ridiculous predictions is true. When Raphael died originally, Nightmare took his body (178 cm, BTW). The Raphael we have now just his spirit. That's why it's smoky.

Either that or the good side of Raphael's soul split off (you know, the guy from SC2) from the bad side and there are actually two bodies. Maybe the good part of him felt guilty about what happened to Amynesia and is now trying to save her.

It's kind of interesting that they went with Graf, the original Japanese profile uses the Japanese word for Earl (or Count). Kinda interesting. =)

Anyway, I still stand by the idea that Nightmare from here on in, should be known as Graf Dumas and not Nightmare. =)

If Nightmare is spending time in that counts court, how come no ones noticed and thought ''holy shit, theres a massive man who resembles the azure knight that fucked over ostreinburg, i should do something like ask who he is or get help from someone with a massive zweindaher''. Nightmare/Graf Dumas isn't exactly a very subtle person.

Even assuming Nightmare isn't hiding who he is, as mentioned last page, the Emperor in question was an occultist and not very smart.

maybe the emporer isn't, but what about the other people, its very confusing.

back on nightmare himself i pray to god he plays like he did in sc4, if he plays like sc2 hell be identical to siegfried (shudders), atleast that what i tthink someone implied earlier.

I wanted Inferno back :\
AGREE IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORSD! nightmare's awesome but inferno was awesome sauce, hence the name and profile pic(and caplocks) all do technically mightmare is inferno but if im honest knight in azure gothic armor is nowhere near as badass as burning demonic skeleton that steals your weapons and then turns out to be better at using them then you are

Soul Edge has the ability to create illusions based on many events we've seen (Nightmare's SC1 ending, Siegfried's SC3 ending, etc.). Who knows, maybe Soul Edge can also "hide" the hosts mutation if it wants to.

Also, a big YES about Inferno from my part too. It was one of those "less is more" kind of effective design to me (I mean he's pretty much 5 chunks linked with fire). In SC2 he was a bit more complex but still sticking to its roots.

Well since NM is in, I wanna to see how Siegfried and NM will react with each other in the game and in Story Mode.

I'm very interested myself:
Seeing as the boxart puts NM against Patroclus and in the trailer he's called the heir.
I hope Sieg and NM still have the grudge, but it will be interesting to see how it fits in around Patroclus...

u kno canonically inferno and nightmare are the same person right?
I won't speak for the others, but in my case yes, I know. What about it though? It's as if I were to argue and say "Abyss and Zasalamel is supposedly the same being" when someone wants the former to return, but even though it's true, they were both present in SC3 and played quite differently.

People are talking about the "character" Inferno as the fire creature with random weapons and its unique helicopter moves. It doesn't really matter if he and Nightmare are the same being as both can still be canonically present again (like in SC1), especially since now it has a new host and isn't a "phantom" like in SC3.

I think the return of "Inferno" might be a bit unoriginal though and quite unlikely somehow. It's no big deal with me since I'd think of it as an extra.

To return on topic, I can't help but see that "mouth" on Nightmare's helmet. I personally don't really like that aspect of it, but on a more humor point of view he looks like an evil Optimus Prime.

As for the story, yeah I'm also interested in how the two will interact with each other after 17 years. I also hope that this story mode (developed alongside Cyberconnect2) will have a straightforward "canon" story similar to how it was in MK9, while keeping the arcade mode with the multiple "single character endings". Seriously, seeing Nightmare, for example, in action during story mode cutscenes other than the endings would be a treat.
