Nightmare's Movelist Changes and Move Speculation Thread

So far NM looks great, I'm pleased with how he's turned out. Except for the decreased range in most of his key moves; 3B, 33B, agA, etc...

0:04 - 4A is no longer a guard break?
0:54 - WS A??
1:20 - WS AA...but is he really doing that from a crouch? it doesn't look like it...and then he does a 2 hit B string that looks new. maybe he now has a BB instead of BBB like he used to have in older games?

yea that WS A does not seem to be coming from while rising, i notice he was side walking, so probably that's how it's coming out.

maybe the new WS A is actually the overhead slam/fist from the first video.

that BB string is from SC2 i believe.
 
It looks like his CE can be charged for that massive damage. After a guard burst, possibly? Because even if they recover in enough time to attack, the aGI could still eat it.
 
Oh my..o_o that's fuckin insane.

I hope the damage is the same if it AGi's. So the new Mare may be gimmicky on the frames but if baited correctly his CE can just straight up win rounds. Not sure if I like that but damn did my jaw drop.

What does Nightmare do at 2:00 and 2:10? It looks like his 6K except he glows blue during it. It also doesn't take meter. I think the message that pops up for it says "coup parfait" which means something along the lines of "perfect hit", I think.
Maybe just frame?
 
Thanks for that video. It answers what both the damage and the range are for his CE. Full charged seems UB and does like 90% of your life bar (!!!!). If it counters, it's around the same damage as most other CE's. Range is just the length of the sword, as opposed to some kind of projectile wave attack like Sieg's.

Now I wonder about how long the aGI window lasts and what kind of attacks it GI's (lows? kicks? throws?).

EDIT: I also just wanted to say, at parts like 0:55 and 2:10, where the last hit to KO is replayed. I suggested in a post here in 8wr to make it so the camera angles changed with each replay, and PS totally adopted it! Just look at any video before the Ezio build and you'll see that the camera is static for the last hit replays, and now it's dynamic. Woo! Namco Bandai/PS I love you.
 

0:32 - NM BB is not NC
0:35 - 44BB launches on CH combo and I assume NH as well
1:18 - fully charged CE does OMFG damage
1:59, 2:09 - 6K has a blue flash with "coup parfait" underneath NM's lifebar
2:07 - A2A is interruptitble now compared to SCIV iirc
2:13 - just wanted to note that the animation is the SCIII 4A+B unblockable
2:21 - 22B was interrupted, glad to see its still in
2:45 - 44BB no longer ground stuns :(

And that's all I saw worth noting from that video.
 
Thinking about it again, NM's CE is good news. The fact that the directional input for all CE's is 236 236 means that NM has to be able to 'cancel' GS into CE. If NM can CE out of any GS transition, then NM now has a counter option against 2A which used to completely stop every GS transition. I'm sure that NM could be punished pretty hard because he's a sitting duck while fully charging his CE, but I think that's better than having no answer to 2A vs GS at all.
 
the CE can probably be sidestep easily and i think it's more of a defensive, baiting move.

the aGI windows seems pretty big from all the videos i've seen, even amateur players aGI easily with it.

It's a good thing because it keeps other opponents at bay when NM has bar. Let's hope it aGI most stuff.
 
Oh my god, that new attack throw looks so sweet. I really can't even begin to imagine if NM's going to be better or worse than he was in SC4, since they've changed him so much.
 
One sad thing I noticed (which probably needs confirmation) NH WS B to GS K doesn't combo anymore (similar to BD). In the same video, it's 3:55.
