Pyrrha Omega General Discussion

Please tell me you're not seriously reading tier lists already?
Dooms biggest problem with lv3 is controlling the ariel game at mid-fullscreen imo. 30% speed boost to t.jump mixups is a lot scarier to figh than you think I'd say. And if he's maybe top 5 name me 3 characters who are undoubtably better than him? I'm not sure I can... Yes Wesker has no bad matchups, but Doom doesn't get raped by anyone either...
I'd take him as an anchor in preference to Wesker myself even if it is close between them because as far as I'm concerned he's better in general and ToD's just as quickly when red.
[-___-]....

Moar Mahvel Beware
First, the tier list was only to show that I'm not alone in my opinion. It's not the end all be all. But people can gather general information from it, just like looking at a SC4 tier list and seeing that Hilde is 'S tier'. Why I have to explain this at all, I don't know. I will also say that I largely agree with this particular Marvel tier list.

Second, you didn't address anything about Doom's problems as an anchor or Wesker's advantages as an anchor that I listed in my last post. Instead, you gave me something about a speed boost, which is almost completely negligible if I can play keepaway with the lifelead as Trish, or s.H you out of footdive with Hulk. Or just, you know, block (and chicken block). Also, I didn't say anything about bad matchups. I was talking about the comeback factor (which is pretty much sums up the primary purpose of a good anchor).

Third, Wesker DOES have bad matchups (aerial characters like Trish, Firebrand, possibly Morrigan for her stupid zoning game, and some might say Zero, but I don't know). Doom has similar bad matchups, but has more tools to deal with them, while having less capabilities to turn those tools into full combos/K.O.'d chracters.

If you prefer Doom over Wesker as an anchor, that's fine. Doom's a solid anchor, no doubt, though he takes a bit more effort. But to say he's better (as an anchor) than literally THE BEST ANCHOR IN THE GAME? That's like telling me SC4 Killik's more broken than SC4 Hilde because you might lose to Asura. I'm going to assume that you don't play this game very often.

I have to travel half the length of the country to play more than one differant player for a few hours, which costs me the equivelent of $200 a pop. Don't give me that shit.
And how many regular Joe's can afford that??

It's like he said, inconvenienced. Not being rich really makes things harder, you know.

I love SC like anyone else on this site. I'm sick and tired of rich-boy elitism on this site giving us casuals crap because "we make excuses for not showing up an tournaments", you see, in the REAL world, most people can't afford that, especially for a video game.

I really need to assign a mod to this forum it seems.

After Hates dispelled your entire argument on the front page, you are still spouting off this nonsense? Post less, play more.

@Idlemind
How exactly is me not having enough money to travel nonsense? Do you know something about my financial situation that I don't?

I'm sorry, but anyone who has the luxury of traveling all over the country for a video game is well off. Please explain to me how 9 bucks an hour while paying through a college automotive program can afford multiple road trips? I can't wait to hear it.

And besides, didn't I tell you to leave me alone a long time ago? I won't beat around the bush, I don't like you, and you don't like me. Don't you think it's best to just not comment on each other? I do.

And besides, I'm meeting up with someone this weekend that's only 20 miles away. Cut me some slack, I'm doin' the best I can.

The usual shit

You are characterizing a group of people as rich when that is not the case, and you really believe it, even after a more patient man than I, whom you claim you respect, disproved your claims. I made it to tournaments when I was fucking destitute, you know how I did that? You get friends and you collaborate together for the benefit of all. Maybe if you weren't such an abrasive prick to everyone, you'd have some people who wanted to share in those good times with you, and thus make it easier. Of course, if you are even proven wrong, you will default to the "it's just a game" category. I guess you weren't raised with the mentality, love what you do- and anything worth doing is doing right.

As an aside, I live an hour and 20 minutes (about 60 miles) from what I consider to be my LOCAL tournament venue. GUESS I MUST BE RICH RIGHT.

@Idle
I've stated this over and over and yet you seem to conveniently forget it.
I HAVE NO COMMUNITY WHERE I LIVE. In order for me to make it to ANY tournament, it's gonna be a plane ticket. Your lucky that you have such a scene so close to home. You know where I live? Greensboro NC.
And YES, anyone who can afford to travel across the country multiple times for a game is rich, plain and simple. If you were REALLY destitute like you claim, you wouldn't be stupid enough to blow your wad on a video game when your trying to pay bills. You honestly think it's reasonable that I convince people to throw down money for a guy they don't even know to play in a tournament? Sure, I have "real" friends, but only one of them plays SC and he's even poorer than I am!
No one in their right mind would pay my way, and I wouldn't even ask them to. But, you know, with my limited resources, I'm doing what I can to get some offline competition. But, I wouldn't be surprised if you conveniently forgot that too. Go read my post on "How I fell in love with Soul Calibur", and see what destitute really means.
And despite what you may think about me personally, I have lots of friends and people say I'm extremely easy going and hard to piss-off. It's your attitude that gets me. Right off the bat, you say things like "scrub, idiot, ignorant" to many people on here making legitimate points.
Or, you can be your usual self and just completely ignore any and all valid points I'm making, while at the same time cherry pick my argument and take one line out of context. It's like when you argue with me, you only hear one sentence and conveniently ignore the rest.

Shut up poor kid. We don't take kindly to "Your kind" around here.

I had a post here about you, but I realized I would be off-topic, so:

I think I might give the Sophi clone a chance in my roster this time around as long as she doesn't "HahhAHAHHAHAHNhhh" like others have so thoughtfully complained about. Honestly the whole "Alpha/Gamma/Rho/Omega" thing is sort of putting me off about the game.

If I had the money to travel to tourneys, I would. No one can argue and speculate about one's financial situation.

When I have extra money to spend, I'll be there.

God that Omega, Alpha thing has turned me off.

Pocky Yoshi chuckles at the following: whiny people who don't know better.

I'll leave it vague because I don't wanna go listing the idiots who made Pocky Yoshi facepalm.

Aside from that, I really want to see how much tears I'll make once Omega Pyrrha sticks her sword in me.............okay that sounded homo lol. Joking aside, I hunger for vids now that I've seen everyone in action(excluding mimics) but her.

Sorry, but it looks to be like you guys are truly arguing over some top-rate bullsh*t @IDLE & damn-I-suck. It had less the anything conducive to add to the topic of the thread. You guys get a big fat F for reading comprehension, but I love you guys anyway.*winky face* Now........Yes, I'm more then excited the more of Cass's moves will make it into the game; cause I was a little sad when I played the demo, and didn't see much of her at all from Pat and Pyrrha. I'm looking forward to 2B+K, 33, B,4 B+K, AS B hold, 33 k,k, A+B, just some of my fav's that would please my palette.lol I have my fingers crossed.

As if this thread were on topic anyway, most of what I read were peoples ideas of whats broken in different contexts (with the oft repeated and generally uninformed opinion that TAS B is broken being the closest thing to on point discussion). Since we don't have that much info yet though I guess speculating is all we can do...

From the moves described, since some of them were attributed to sophie and some to pyrrha, but are also basically sophie's moves, I wonder how similar OP will be to the elder Sister in the end and whether making another such similar character will add to the game or not.

Yay, a new thread to follow. Anywhoo, I believe that Omega Pyrrha will a new style. Well not really new, but returning. According to my sources, Amy's rapier style. Also, she appears to have a disformed right arm. And her accessories (hairpin and more) are gone, and her clothing is darker respectively.

Will Omega Pyrrha hop in place, side to side, like Cassandra use to do? It made her seem hyper and ready for action, lol. I thought those kind of "hop in place" stances were neat since Yun-seong and Maxi also have it. It's like, their trying to be unpredictable so you won't know if their just gonna hop again or strike out at you. D:

Only downside is that they'll probably get tired after hoping in place for so long.

Natsu player as well, huh? Welcome to what we have to face in the next game. We ninjas probably need to stick together, lol.

Seems that way. I loved my Taki but since she's not gonna be on the game I'll get the closest thing to her. I heard her A:6 is easier to do but I won't know until I get my hands on the game. I got Taki's A:6 to about 55% in gameplay so maybe I can get Natsu's t 100% if it is easier.
