The anime I'm trying to keep up with are Inuyasha the final act, Kobato, and Sacred blacksmith.
Oh and a hint of Fairy Tail (since my family are kinda into it).

The Eva cast was recast according to what they believed they did wrong the first time around.

but Trinity Blood is Trigun and Hellsing put together, but I will say it was pretty good. the quality was just amazing for most of it and even though they rushed the ending because the creator died, that ending was pretty epicish.

i kinda been without net for a while, so if someone can give me a top 20 of the past year that would be nice.

Clannad After Story, Toradora, Saki, Bakemonogatari, Spice and Wolf 2, Canaan, To Aru Majutsu no Index, Kampfer.

Actually, Kampfer is pretty horrible if you don't get the references, and is only funny if you appreciate the humor of Nana Mizuki, Yui Horie, Yukari Tamura, and Mamiko Noto being complete thugs. Similar to Queen's Blade actually, considering the similar voice casting in that show, except it's less porn and more thug. Probably missed a few, but those are the only shows I remember enjoying a lot.

don't you mean "actually, Kampfer is pretty horrible" and then stop there?

did you see the mirror scene? the bad quality check they did on that hurts

It doesn't matter how bad the show looks if the only reason you're watching it is to hear Ayu, Kotomi, and Nanoha being assholes.

This year I liked these...

To Aru Majustu no Index, D. Grayman, World Destruction, Chrome Shelled Regios, Valkyria Chronicles, Xam'd, Tytania, Eden of the East, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Blade of the Immortal

Need anime to watch.

I like dark action animes and perhaps dramas.

I was considering macross since I like mechas too.

I just finished Elfen Lied and it disapointed me. I ended up re-watching Berserk and Cowboy Bebop still my top 2 favs.

My friend has recommended Fairy Tail and Fruits Basket. however me being a dude with a c**K I may not like the shojo genre.

Bubbles has also constantly recommended Vampire Knight.

Can anyone tell me if Gantz or Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex is good?

what about gundam ZZ and Gundam Zeta?

Well, Fairy tale is made by the same guy who made One piece. Except its Wizards...not pirates.
And its just as popular as Naruto, Bleach, DBZ, etc.
Since you watched Cowboy Bebop, watch Samurai Champloo. Made by the same guy.
Gantz is alright. It leaves you disappointed in the end. But the manga is better.
As for Gundam, I've only watched G Gundam, 00 Gundam, Gundam Wing, Gundam Seed and Seed Destiny.
And they're what you expect. Awesome at some points and then meh at others.
Macross Frontier is recommended if you are a fan of Macross stuff.
I haven't watched Stand alone complex because I was into Shojo stuff at the time.
It gets very addicting.

Clannad is alright but nothing too special.

If you like Berserk and Cowboy Bebop you might like
Trigun.
Black Lagoon.
Darker Than Black
Gungrave
Outlaw Star
Claymore
Hellsing
Trinity Blood

Watch Baccano!

Fairy Tail I've heard nothing good about. Seems like standard shonen with standard quality problems.

Black Lagoon is retarded. But it thinks it's dark and gritty, and there's plenty of action, so you may like it.

Ghost in the Shell has almost no action, just as a warning. Most people really like it, and the animation is good, but you don't need to put a lot of effort into what's mostly a bunch of animated Outer Limits episodes mixed with CSI: NeoTokyo, with a whole lot of talking to fill the gaps. If going-nowhere philosophy isn't your thing then you may not like it. If you're not familiar with philosophy of the mind and AI theories than you'll probably miss a lot, and the payoff at the end of the first season is really weak. Didn't watch the second.

If you liked Cowboy Bebop then you should just watch Samurai Champloo.

^ Too much thinking r bad. I mean I started to not like Death Note because allot of some parts is just Light going paranoid with overflowing thoughts.

I did watch Samurai Champloo already btw: I loved it, its not the best and it wasn't as good as Bebop but it was pretty good.

mehhh I'm not sure If I can take Claymore seriously, Japanese writers always involve women in "ecchi roles or even worse and i know you know what i mean"

Darker than Black I have heard allot about that,

I may watch Outlaw Star again because I watched a bunch of it but I can't remember a whole allot about it other than the final episode.

Claymore isn't ecchi at all. And trust me I know what you mean, the way female characters are written in a lot of anime is either annoying or straight up retarded.

But claymore has a more serious tone to it, with some awesome females.

Eh. I'd say there's a difference between Deathnote's brand of "thinking" (where you need someone pointing out constantly that the two are brilliant geniuses rather than the idiots they really are) and thoughtful writing like in SAC and 2nd gig.

In DN, the whole of the action consists of the supposed mental duel. In GitS, you have a high level faceoff between Section 9 and another political entity or two, (which is interesting) but you also get the lower level stuff like Batou smashing through a wall to deliver an elbow to a cyborg that results in both of them skidding along the floor before the pressure from the elbow eventually pops off the other guy's head. (Which is awesome.)

On the thinking stuff: (Spoiler warning if someone's thinking of watching the show.)

Batou being awesome:

ya Fairy Tail is NOT made by Eichiro Oda of One Piece, it's done by Hiro Mashima of Rave Master Similar style, mediocre quality, and decent action i guess. very light hearted.

Claymore is serious, at almost all times it's serious, it's gory, it's actiony, it's serious. it may have a naked woman but she'll either be killing or being killed.

Death Note is just a straight shounen anime except instead of fist fighting it's mind fighting, that's it, and it even had an opponent show up after one of them were defeated.
Ghost in the SHell on the other hand is all philosophy and politics, it CAN be slow or uninteresting for a little bit but overall it's a fantastic series, but yes you should see the original movie first before going into this.

Fruits Basket is pretty good in general, it's actually funny on most of it's attempts at being so. But it isn't serious til the end where it was more abrupt than thought out.

Gantz is fucking stupid but all blood, tits and explosions, like ELfen Lied except Elfen had some substance under it
Black Lagoon is badass but unbelievable and can get dull after a bit

Samurai Champloo is fantastic, especially if you liked Bebop, and your thought process on "japanese writers" making women ecchi all the time is stupid otherwise ALL anime out there including Pokemon would have it, and ecchi is only a small part of anime anyway. (although growing substantionally)

WHoever recommended Gungrave gtfo, Gungrave wants to be a modern day Berserk with no action, no sense and 90% boring, but high quality boring it is.

I will second Baccano! in every way, as it's AMAZING, and Darker than BLACK is pretty sweet too (some of the best action scenes in a long time)

tell Bubbles to shove Vampire Knight up his ass because it's not very good (not terrible) at all

and Gundam Zeta is great, Gundam ZZ isn't as great but still good. Macross Frontier was actually pretty good, but still one of the worst of the Macross series (but they're almost all great)

and whoever asked if Clannad was good the answer is YES, go watch it
