Originality

Apparently bad CaS still exists. I've been watching the same tacky Astaroth clone and the same black and blue Siegfried/CaS battle it out for nearly an hour now. You'd think people would be more creative with all the new tools we've received.

I think for some people, this is like their--Little Big Planet. There is so much you can do some people find it overwhelming. I know I just started using patterns on clothing and fully realizing what a person can do with all the stickers and the like. There is a lot of creativity that can be done and so, like Little Big Planet, some folks just don't have the knack for it.

I agree. But in times like that, it's just better to...not make anything, lol. No better costume to wear than the actual design, y'know?

Which is precisely why I never built levels on Little Big Planet! XD I knew when I was out of my element. I don't care about created characters that--well, it's hard to put it in words. If a person makes an amazing looking character, or a series of them but never names any of them, that pisses me off. If someone makes a character that is horrid to look like, [refer to: Old Man/Pink-Thong Voldo] then that also pisses me off.

But if someone just sort of throws something together and even just gives it a generic name like 'Ryu' or 'Shadow' I can't fault them for at least trying. It would be like berating a child that had all the tools to paint 'The Last Supper' like Davinci but wound up painting a very primitive picture of house. Some people want to do the things we do and have ideas for great characters in their heads but just lack the skill or patience to get it onto the medium before them.

P.S. In the heat of battle, my first and best way of insulting someone is how unoriginal they are, either by picking one of the canon characters or by making one of the clones, like you said--The above statement is something I try to remind myself of when I became an unquenchable ball of rage.

What people make may be unpleasant, but it's their customs. Generally, I find something than nothing more fun than say nothing. Na-mu.....

I'm learning to tolerate it. I don't play enough online to warrant getting as upset because of how broken the game is and until I have gotten better with Viola, I won't be online to see creations unless invited to a fight by someone on my friend list. Even so, you're right; their creations may piss me off with how trollish it is, but it -is- their creation to do as they see fit.

lmao, glad I'm not the only one who gets really irritated whenever they come across an awful looking CaS. I just want to TAS B something to death whenever I come across that generic CaS type: western emo guy with a katana, dressed in bright, clashing colors, and aptly named something made up in Japanese.

And I'll have you know, I did make some rather decent levels in LittleBigPlanet. It's just that...they looked better in my head, and I lack the patience and knowledge to create something that would equate to some of the greatest user-created levels out there.

Though, my characters were fresh and original and normal; they weren't running around wearing fangs, cat noses, bunny ears, or weapons. :P

That's exactly how it was for me--though the tutorials were always fun since the narrator is Steven Fry, who has the most awesome British voice ever.

Anyway, now that we can do screenshots in View Mode, expect to see ALOT of my characters now in my own CaS thread~

Looking forward to those. ;)

Now I ask of you to be patient and do the same with me, as there is a chance a UPS truck will probably stop by my house tonight or tomorrow morning with a certain 2lb package in wait for me. From then, I'll be working my ass to start unlocking as much CaS pieces I can get within the weekend, then I'll be able to show off my own creations. :P

I bought the guide book today; you'll be unlocking stuff all the way up to player level 99.

But just for anyone wondering, the elf ears come at PL 46.

Add me on psn and I will show you my cas. I garantee they are not bad.
me too, me too!
I think somebody mentioned it already in this or the character creation thread, but if you are on PS3, you can take screenshots in CAS.

When editing the CAS, press START and click "View". When in view mode, press the PS button and scroll towards the "photos" section. You should see "Take screeshot [SOULCALIBUR V]" or something like that. This will save the screenshot to your HDD and you can transfer that file to your USB key, if you have one.

Here are some examples to show you what it looks like. The original size is 1280 x 720, saved in PNG.

As you can see from these, the things at the bottom of the screen doesn't go away, so keep that in mind when you take these pictures if it bothers you.

A side note. You can try timing right to when the notes at the bottom changes to the button for "Back", since it's the shortest (seen in the second picture I posted). Just be patient, it's a no-brainer.

Thanks ;D I won't say all of them are "official" yet since I haven't unlocked all items, so expect a few changes here and there.

Yeah you can crop if you want to of course, but the camera angles and movements when taking pictures is very limited, and sometimes complicated depending on the poses you want to use. Mitsurugi for instance has a loop animation of him drawing his sword out, but he's also walking. If you want to take a sideshot of him when he's unsheathing his sword, it is a bit troublesome since he's further away from the screen in such angle, and probably behind the SCV logo.

... I just noticed that the formula option also disappeared. Oh well.

Your characters look boss! They almost make me want to create knights. ALMOST.

got a vid here but not sure whether to post more of them here since they're with my original characters or make my own thread to avoid cluttering. let me know.
