Hilde: Q&A/General Discussion Thread

Heaton said he would have Hilde frame data in wiki up tomorrow, but going by guide it says -10,-13,-16 and B ender is -15.

Charging Hilde's unblockables does have some use, usually against players who back off and expect you to attack them. I can probably count the number of times i've been able to use it in SC4 buts its a sweet wakeup call for scrubs who turtle up.

Does anyone have an answer for how to do the second B input in the third level B charge release? I haven't been able to hit this once, and there's nothing instructional or helpful in the game itself, despite the fact that they advise you use it as a safe mid-range poke.

The ingame's movelist input is incorrect. It's actually A for the second input rather than B.

Are there any spear attacks with better tracking than the CE? I'm having some trouble with people spamming Quick Steps all day outside my sword range.

Hey, I've been posting a lot in the Z.W.E.I. forums, but I'm a little frustrated with him right now and am thinking of switching my focus to Hilde. A couple of questions:

1) How good is her damage (meterless, 1/2 meter, full meter+)?
2) Is she too linear?
3) How is her anti-step?
4) Other comments on her general kit - what she does well, what she does poorly?

I'd love it if you were as detailed as possible, but I'll take what I can get.

1) She can easily deal 80-100 damage no meter off staple combos. She can combo CE from c2a and he BE grab, the grab deals like 140 or something crazy.

2) Her B attacks have long range and are linear but that is ok because...

3) She has great antistep 66a, A+B, [A+B], 22aa, c1a,c2a,c3a, the list goes on.

4) She has great movement and backdash seems to work really well for her. Her weakness is that some of her multi hit attacks can be just guarded or flat out stepped before the 2nd hit connects. Also if you happen to be holding a charge, you have to let go and retap the button in order to break grabs which means you are basically free when charging.

-You can be at advantage all day if you scare people enough and stop them from stepping.

-22b is a tech crouch mid that leads to near 100 damage combo and gives +12 on block.

-She can break guards really well.

-Her lows are not very good but they at least serve a purpose.

-She isn't easy to play. It will take time to get use to charge mechanics and how they interact with normal attacks.

That's all off the top of my head, hopefully it's enough for you to figure out if you are interested or not.

How do fight when the opponent is rushing you? I feel that her moves are quite in the slow side.
I'm certain a more experienced Hilde can give you a better answer, but her AA and 4A are i13, and 66K is i14. Since Hilde doesn't need meter to do great damage, you can Guard Impact as well. Most often I just watch for an opportunity to backdash or sidestep and punish their whiff. Hilde is also blessed with a large number of Tech Crouch moves if your opponent abuses too many Highs.

Both 1A and 1B seem to be + on hit, very usefull moves for pressure.

4A is a lot more + than AA is, doing 4A, 1B against Hilde in mirror beats out her trying to do 4A.

Ok, time to entertain the idiot. I picked up Hilde a few days ago and for the life of me I cannot find where the third hit is in c3b. I have no problem doing stuff like 236 b4 on hit w/ sophie (although I refuse to touch any of the sisters for this game), but I can't find where to time the B. Amy's 236 ka was also pretty easy on hit . . . but I just can't find where to hit B on c3b for the third hit. I know it's a retarded question, but any help?

First time poster here, and chomping at the bit to be able to get some practice in (my new puppy just chewed up my stick, have another one on the way tomorrow, ugh)...but to answer your question Tulips:

The 3rd hit of c3b is actually an 'a' input, not an additional 'b' -- the command list in game is incorrect. Your timing is probably right, but no matter what you do, you aren't getting it because of the incorrect input.

Told you I'm freakin' retarded.

Thanks!

Additionally, I wasted 45 minutes in practice mode completely puzzled to all hell. I want 45 minutes of my life back!
