It was fun to watch. Omega seems really strong.

Josh, stop hitting your head on the stream xD

My stick broke halfway through the day, so I had to use the new SCV TE, which didn't agree with me, execution went down the toilet, I wasn't happy, lol.

On a happy side note though: Duncan, Talon, myself, Joel and Shawn have been offered potential sponsorship! ^^

Now, my very brief first impressions on the Alpha Pat X O Pyrrah matchup from playing Talon and getting back to training mode:

O Pyrrah has her flaws, I've had a chance to train against her in practice after playing Talon and I feel this matchup is actually in Alpha's favour - he wins on throws, pressure and punishment. The best part is, its a lot safer to lame it out and turtle with A than it is for O from what I can tell, if your execution is good enough, you can easily keep up on damage and I would argue take advantage in all close to neutral frametraps that O can dish out. Because of this, O has to use her collossal damage potential to force an answer and that means the TAS B throw mixup has to stay for this game, but A can punish it for 80ish dmg a go. With meter, I feel O wins as her 44B+K?BE can set up some sick mixups and her CE is basically A's, but a LOT more damage. I feel she also has the upper hand on RO potential and really takes advantage of A's weak guard crush game, to the point where I think A suffering 1 in a 3 round match is almost unavoidable. O has a lot of staple moves that are umbrella punishable which she must use to try and find an opening, so this matchup rarely for her revolves around high risk (for once)/high reward.

In summary of my chaotic collection of impressions:
Alpha Patroklos should turtle up in this fight, punish consistently and save meter for the CE, only using BE's if meter will stay above 1 as it is such a game changer. Three umbrella punishes will kill, so patience I feel is the key in this matchup.
Omega Pyrrah should answer this with positional rushdown, using her wicked close range pokes and try to bait umbrellas for TAS B into okizeme to keep up on damage. Much of her staple setups and attacks are ferociously high rish for her in this matchup so you have to bait into high garunteed damage, which again is risky in this matchup. She does however build meter quickly and has a vastly superior version of Alpha Patroklos' CE and so takes an advantage in later stages of the game, assuming you are willing to save up early on. She completely dominates him in guard crush, so dish out those 66Bs where possible and take half bar for your troubles when it breaks - Alpha has a lot of difficulty avoiding a state of guard crush here I feel.

This matchup, I am certain is close and in a high level match I feel it will largely come down to who has the superior throw game on the day, but nevertheless I currently see this matchup as a 6:4 in Alpha Patroklos' favour, though it is only early impressions, so take it with a grain of salt.

I actually doubt Alpha Patroklos has any bad matchups in this game.

He seems to be better than Omega at pretty almost everything: punishment, damage, safety, throws, lows and whatnot.

Can he punish TASB with something else than iFC3a:B which is risky and CE?

Umm... Truth be told, I havent tested - the blockstun on TAS B is easy to learn to punish with umbrella and AS B can be punished with identical timing. Should you fuck up, you'll either do 3A or whiff a 2A, neither of which are catastrophies and vs. Elysium on legendary souls, I just punished 7/9 TAS B's on reaction with JF Umbrella JF Umbrella, so you could do it in a match. =)

Thanks for the stream, it was fun to watch (even though I only saw the beginning and the last 30 min), you should do commentating more often Duncan!
To be honest, I'm a little afraid of Alpha and Omega now...

You should be. There is no escapin this.

EDIT: No offense but Synraii you still SUCK with him really bad :) Thats maybe 30% of what alpha is capable of....so many missed combos, but more important why would you ever BB after a step? Stop that BB, its not even good in this game. You should link your matches in the arena, cause while you may have success with him you still play him really bad. Which of course is normal since you just started.... Im sure Maxou will help as well if you post your matches!

If Kalas is already scared of that...^^

I was playing on a stick I'm ass on and it was day two with the character, lol.
I will improve though XD.

I got nervous and lost an a Pat mirror in clutch 3-2, only made semi's in my group ~_~. I beat the guy down in casuals though, lol - FT1's in a solo tournament, wtf?

Also, the only setup that even had him unlocked was the one on stream, so I got very little practice with him. Will shoot the TO for this.

Ok, I'm done making excuses now, I played terribly with alpha there and I'm working on it as we speak.

Thanks, I really enjoyed it and would like to do more if I can.
lol Eurostar is not expensive, dont know what prices your looking at
Well booking in advance from Thursday to Monday is £100, and the you've still gotta sort out accommodation etc. I think that's pretty expensive. And if you try to buy at the last minute it's more like £200-£250
Which place did you get in tournament btw? Is there a top 5 etc?
Top 4:
1: Talon
2: Shadab
3: Goemen / Silent Joel

Top 4 stream is here from around 24 minutes

?? Don't know anything about this? Don't think anyone who wants to sponsor someone who can't play for shit in a tournament. My embarrassing performance against Talon in the semis put a dampening (for me) on an otherwise great day for SC in the UK (taking nothing away from Talon's excellent punishment/execution) . We've come a long way from playing in a single setup in a dark corner of Yates', wouldn't you say Duncan :-)

I skipped through the stream so I might be wrong, but the only games with my name/face up were the ones were I got battered. The ones where I did I was winning before Kayane knocked me off didn't show me!

Pretty much what Duncan said, unless £100 isn't expensive for you.
