I seriously never thought of any of those particular applications on Creation mode items, but I actually think those are pretty hilarious. I have to admit I've been trying to come up with some troll characters to mix up the serious designs I have.

once you created your character, press triangle, go to view, then press the xmb button and go to the pictures tab, it'll let you take a screenshot from there. :D

If you have the PS3 version, it's extremely easy. Just hit the PS-XMB button go to Photos and "Save Screenshot". Then you have to exit the game and copy over to a USB flash drive.
Results look like this.
Edit: Other dude beat me to it. Whatever. Here's another character I made. I'm pretty happy with this design and use it often online.
And this design based on The Son of Man by Rene Magritte I shameless stole from another player online. I would give him credit if I remembered his PSN handle. Was a Voldo player of average skill.

i take time with my characters and take pride in them. after all they are characters that i've been with for years and already have them plotted out in my head. i just can't see myself making a silly or ugly character for any reason.

While I generally agree with that sentiment, I also love making tons of joke and troll characters -- and seeing what other people come up with.
I don't really end up using hideous characters, but I appreciate some people's humor and creativity.

I also like to take time with my characters. I think that "one color = bad, 2 = ok, 3+ colors = good" mentality is pretty absurd.
