I posted the following on your sister site.

Personally I've not had an issue with Soul Crushes, maybe that's an issue offline. JIing throws, that's just wierd. As for changes I'd like to see:

~Enlarge the GI/GP window to what they were in previous SC games.
~Fix multi-part throws like Talims Monsoon Season & Xianhuas Twisting Lotus Flow; seriously what's the point of having the multi-part throws when they basically do the same damage as a one part throw?
~Speaking of Talim, I'd be estatic of her 1A was like it was in SC02.

The game is clearly balanced with online play in mind... This is one of the many reasons I hate the idea of games getting online play. People liked to say "if you don't like online play, nothing is forcing you to play it". But its not as simple as that, the changes made to the game because of the online play, affect you during offline play. The game is balanced for online, so offline balance gets the shaft.

Hell... they nerfed a Talim move! Offline she's the worst character in the game! Online... she's top tier.

I'm not so sure. Wouldn't they have nerfed Kilik and Mitsu if they were balancing for online?

I'm guessing they nerfed Talim's A+K because it had TJ frames when it didn't look like she was jumping. No?

Hell... they nerfed a Talim move! Offline she's the worst character in the game! Online... she's top tier.

the move in question is glitchy as hell the way it is now. moves sweeping right through talims legs. its not about nerfing her, it's about fixing a hitbox glitch. if you look at the entire patch overall talim is now better.

Mi-na been improved? I sure hope so.

I wonder if they fixed the 3rd star wars stage. I still reckon its only unplayable due to lazy programming.

something small , but im not sure. it seems as though the push back on soph's 4b+k on block has been increased.

anyways, in terms of sg, soph's 4b+k used to take 8 to break, now it takes 10. you see a lot less SC's than you did before.

i know everyone knew sg had been increased, but i was just citing an example.

Doesn't need to be. Could use a nerf on soul gauge damage but that's about it. It's steppable to his left, and is part of one of his main weaknesses, nothing fast enough to act as a solid low punisher. You should see me play against Fox, bare 1a's all day lol.

And lol at Talim nerf, see Jay I told you she was really Dan in disguise. Before you know it she'll have like 5 taunts and an autograph attack, and run around the stage yelling OYAJIIIIIIIIII!!!!! Work on that Yoshi son!

Yet Talim almost never tech crouches, yet it always looks like she is tech crouching... isn't that a hitbox glitch? Giver her some tech crouch back! Every character tech crouches more than she does; to the point that I think she only has 1 low that tech crouches, and thats in back turn. I can never use her 9B tech jump attack because everyone's lows seem to tech crouch (and 9B is a high now, instead of a low)! Yet her's dont.

How is Talim better overall in this patch? She's still unsafe, still has no range, still does no damage and is still extremely slow... Not to mention her guard breaks suck, her soul crushing sucks, her unblockables suck... She's got no good mixups, and very few cancels... she sucks.

the stage lag is a console issue imo,
ive played both versions and noticed the lag on ps3 right away
and the 360 never lags, go figure
too bad ps3 is the tourney standard, but if it were 360 everyone would have stick and pad complaints,

1. the other characters are worse, so talim is comparatively better
2. tira can't rape talim with that stupid semi-infinite
3. cf is harder and talim doesn't really cf anyway

the only "negative thing" is that her A+K doesn't glitch over people's lows anymore.

@Ciernian: Coincidentally, many U.S. players think that Hilde is utter garbage. I'm still not sure about her, even with the combos that have shown up.

People only think that because they haven't seen a good Hilde player in action. As time goes on people will start to see that she's pretty damn good. If I can I'll put up some matches from the upcoming Norcal tournament on the 27th.

Thousands if not millions of people play the game online every day. A few hundred gather in tournaments each year. Also, "online" in the US is almost nothing like ONLINE in Japan. What we are barely seeing the tip of with "super high speed" services like FiOS is almost commonplace there. Our network infrastructure basically sucks by comparison. We have skinny little bitch pipes, they have phat fat pipes.

They "balanced" the game the way top-rated JP players told them to do it. (Ironically, probably based on in-person tournaments, not online.) I've watched this happen I don't know how many times in Armored Core editions. Basically US players take what JP gives, like it or lump it it's that simple.

In short, cry more, Japan doesn't care. :-P
