Talim Video Archive

I screwed up pretty badly in our match Eclair :( that said so did you! 'Dont tech when blah blah blah' is what you were hearing me say all day because you claim to tune out when im talking.

Yo MasudSabr havent seen you on in a while! LOL the surfie Seig i have on My PS is waaay better ;)

Good match twinsbrown. I see the problem i run into when challenging my brother and that's how they've developed a strong defense to talim. This defense in itself is talim biggest weakness and the main way to counter it is to mix up a lot of highs and lows, GI, grab and pressure them into making mistakes.

I think you can benefit from using 1A and 11KA into your game. Use 1A when they're getting up and mix it up with 2A+B when they're conditioned into blocking low. Same applies with 11KA, but it can also be used to move in as well.

Solid Talim, just back yourself and even if your brother can see WL A coming, still persist with it because it is her biggest weapon in regards to damage.

A few 1A+B would be good in close range as well, when you predict a quick horizontal from Ivy.

Well, it's CY time to show himself offline with talim for once.

I lost, but I think I did ok. I swear I got lazy blocking those lows. I played SK and Talim in this video. Tell me what you guys think.

You didn't do too badly. Some things to keep in mind vs. Voldo. His 3BB can be GIed on second hit. It's nasty on the soul gauge if you block both hits. You can also WC the second hit if you're alert enough to do it. (In tournament it's sometimes a lot harder to use reaction based timing due to nerves and stuff so I can understand that.)

His diving GB/UB can be ducked (and even punished hard if he lands in front of you). Try to avoid using stances, (particularly WC), when Voldo has his back to you. It's just too slow to catch him out of most of his stuff. you want to use 2K, if you're close enough, or 6B... something quick that can't be GIed by Voldo's BT A+B. Step more when Voldo's facing you, his better moves are more linear there than in BS.

It's been awhile but I finally have a new match video from the latest tournament. It's me against Hayate, probably the best Kilik player in France and one of the best around period. I made some mistakes, the biggest of which was electing to change stages after the first round... no luck with stages that day, heh. Anyway, I won't give too much away. So go ahead and enjoy.

Good work, Zero. But you need to star throwing in some 11_77B and 1A+b's in your style. I saw a few times where you could have been on his ass if you did a 1A+B, or times where you could have started some offense. But good shit on trying to comeback in a first match. When i fight a kilik I try to fight for adv.,to have leg up on my foe.

Thanks guys, really. I was mostly just outplayed and outguessed. I didn't feel overwhelmed, but I guess that's mainly due to having played Hayate many times the night before the tourney. (Maybe that worked against me, heh).

But I dunno, I love playing this game and using Talim (among other characters). I keep thinking that this time is my breakout tourney, but I end up losing in heartbreaking fashion. (You guys should've seen my match against HackerMike's Hilde. I played the best I've ever played in tournaments against him, but ROs happen.)

It's just hard sometimes cause I get tired of coming sooo close just to lose. I can hang with some of the best players using arguably the worst character in the game, which says a lot. But I just continue to hope that someday I can pull the trigger. Maybe turn some heads amongst those who just hate on Talim due to her low-tier status.

IMO Kura fought with better defense than Oof did but that's probably because Oof's dropped Talim. It was a great match to watch though. They fight completely differently and that's what made it exciting.

Talim vs. Talim matches are usually a lot of fun to watch (and play) and that one was no different. I thought for sure Kura had him, but Oof manage to pull out a win anyhow. Very entertaining.

While we're on the subject of Talim vids, I have a few of my own. I haven't had a chance to play InsaneKhent one on one in quite some time so it was interesting to see how we'd match-up after so long. And I have to say, I believe that this latest series of matches were some of the best and most exciting ones I've had with him. There's quite a few here, but I think they'll keep you guys entertained.

InsaneKhent vs. ZeroEffect

Pretty nice, I'm looking for some good Talim players to play against. I can't play now though, we can do some matches in 2-3 weeks if you like Zero ^^

I'm always up for facing new challengers. My internet connection sometimes decides to act up on me though so I haven't been online much lately. 2-3 weeks is a ways off though, let me know before you're about to go online and I'll see if I can fight you.

The fourth round was pretty sweet, heh.

And your custom talim is badass :D

Heh, thanks. The custom Talim, though, was from Jaxel's console I believe.

Speaking of which here's a couple more videos from this past weekend's tournaments. The first one is from the second tournament where it's Me vs BrewtusBibulus using Talim and Voldo respectively. Overall a good fun match. We've played each other quite a few times before, but never in tournament.

Badass99, the last set in particular is part of what I was saying about Voldo's options shutting Talim down at times with little effort and lots of damage.

And the second one is possibly what some of you would consider a dream match of sorts. As me and Jaxel finally faced off in tournament. A Talim mirror match that was back and forth to the last round complete with commentary and hype in the background. So without further ado, here's how this epic match went down.

See for yourself which Talim emerged as the better Talim!
