Tira General Discussion / Q&A

Has uses for jolly side 4a and 3k (JS|GS) in neutral game?
Allow me to suggest a notation to Tira boards for inputs indiscriminate of Stance Mood to save time with posts like this.

;; 3K
leading to:

JS 4A and ;; 3K

Otherwise , even if the mood can be inferred for some inputs, you are forced to write "3K and JS 4A" or look ambiguous without writing something for the second one. It also can help you group inputs even with Mood differences, for when the differences' sameness are what you are talking about (say, when discussing reacting during combos).
That's assuming semicolon is not a shift character on all your keyboards. Double usage should guarantee no confusion with justframe .

Also they look like tears. So, it's like tear-a stance. *gets shot*

1) 666B does three more hits (in BE the last hit is a Break Attack making it safer, but mainly for the extra damage) but it also has a high chance of switching back to Jolly.) So if you are under 40% life (where mood change occurs) and in gloomy is may not be worth it (unless it will win the round).

2) GS 44A is a break attack, really quick and defeats sidestep. GS 6A is a quick hit and can be done from far away to keep it safe. On wakeup you can do Updraft-->B (break attack, hard to sidestep if they are in wakeup when you do it) and if they roll to evade they can't punish you. But doing this raw is a bad idea.
2.) You mean 66A rather than 44A.

I'm probably going to sound stupid 'cause this has probably already been mentioned somewhere but I just saw that Winter Brawl match with Tira and she did what looked like GS 666B changed mood into Jolly then immediately changed back into Gloomy, have I missed a trick somewhere? x_x?

Hi. I want to do the combo JS 66B, 4A(A?), 4K but i can't regularly get the high launcher from the 4A. What am I doing wrong please?

There have been some times where only 2 hits of the 4A connect. Is this what is happening to you? If so, I would slow it down by a fraction. On some characters doing it immediately seems to make it miss. Almost seems random, but I know it isn't. If it is consistently happening against different characters, my guess is you're being too fast with it. But for the most part this is a fairly automatic combo, timing shouldn't have much to do with it. Also, make sure you are using actual characters and not CaS. Being a CaS Tira can change where and how some moves connect. Subtle, but possible.

Guys, i have a silly beginner doubt.

Usually when im in JS i like to combo 3B/66B>4A>4K to switch from JS to GS. The problem is, sometimes the 4K changes the persona and sometimes it does'nt, i dont understand why it is unstable.

because that is the nature of Tira. She randomly changes mood with 4K being one of the most random. Some attacks have high probability of mood change. Some 100% guaranteed mood change. It's part of her charm

I wish they made both sides of Tira good but in different ways, instead of just making GS superior in every way.

I kind of dont see why would anyone want to be in JS too. Well, she does have a nice and comboable 66B but... That's pretty much her strongest point.

I think your damage potential on whiff is slightly higher in JS if you have meter, but other than that I can't think of a reason to be in JS.

Edit: I read the guide wrong, I am use to the first row be frames, not damage.

Jolly is really only good if you have no life at the end of the round to spare.

If her mood changes to Jolly at the end of the 4k then you can do 66BE to pop them back up followed by B+K 66(6)B for some good damage. Just have to watch out for it and be ready to react. Also 4K deals very slight damage to you so be careful if you're inches from death.

the number of times i've self ko'd is infuriating. Stupid self damage on 666B, but no self damage on 66B

This is usually why I would rather use 66b instead of 666b. Those ticks of life has saved me in quite a few matches already.
