I can say completely and utterly that people really need to be exploring the game more if they think Viola is broken. After a little session, I can quite honestly say that Mits, Cervy, aPat, oPyr, and Algol are the top 5 in this game. People just need to learn how to play against Viola. With that being said, I go back to Dragon's Dogma!
Before I go, I neglected to mention that Viola has bad matchups against all those characters too! ...But she's overpowered?! lol.
Okay, Dogma time.
I don't entirely agree with you except for the part where you said that people shouldn't whine about Viola being broken.
Imo it's (going to be) more like this:
1.People should stop bitching about Viola and start learning how to exploit the character and learn strategies against her. Viola will be worse. Till here I agree with you, but I don't think it stops here.
2. What Viola mains should and will do, is the same. They will notice that people are starting to adapt to their shit and they will be forced to think of new ways to beat their opponent. Nothing will stop them from learning their opponents match-ups too.
3. Viola will be a deeper, more unpredictable and more sophisticated character and people will start crying about her again, although this time their complaining about her will be a tiny bit more justified. Imo in the end Viola has so many tools going for her, I can hardly imagine her NOT being at the top.
I also think that if she can keep her basic tools, she will never be a bad character, unless every hit of her does 1 damage. Pre-patch Viola was far from bad, probably around mid or so, especially with 6B+K forcing to stand on hit and block at that time. Thinking back, that was truly... ridiculous. Glad they removed it actually.
