When I say 'Practical' I mean it's a least based off of something real. Unlike Zwei and Viola.
I DO hate Zwei's wolf. It's the sole reason I have a hard time tolerating him - It's ugly and truly doesn't fit with SC. I guess Zwei's just so hot, they had to add something ugly. He could be GREAT without the wolf - he's almost Talim-like in ways as it is.
No opinion on this.
Viola, though... I like how she fits in. She's on par with Ivy in how 'nonsense' her weapon is. Also... I like finger-blades. *super cute giggle-face* :3
Get that stupid orb out of SC.

ye that would be the best i would pay 40 or something for a patch like that with old characters not everyone but the most of them would be nice. Dont think we need guys lik assasin or berserker back :D. But rock zasalamel talim necrid yun and these guys were great fighting styles and much fun. I dont think i would be the only one who wants them back and is willing to pay much for them ._.
 
So long as every single character int he game can magically summon fire or lightning for an attack(or MAGICALLY being completely bifurcated and getting right back up off the ground), no one has any business bitching about how unrealistic anything in the game is.[/offtopic]


Dah...why haven't I gone out and grabbed more M$ fun money yet? I want the Roman shit so I can dress up Pattycakes in it and tell everyone I bump into "ave, true to Caesar." Yes, it's lame, no I don't care.

When I think of new characters, I think along the lines of the weapon, with appearance being a small factor. Something that hasn't been in the game before.

Natsu is Taki 2.0. Not relatively new.
Leixia is mini-Xianghua, and it shows in gameplay too. Same thing.
Xiba is "Jungle Kilik", as someone said to me once (lol). Same.
Patroklos is Male Cassandra, while Pyrrha is Sophitia with her own personality and some clumsy moves inspired by her aunt.

The only new ones are Z.W.E.I. and Viola.

Z.W.E.I.'s wolf is certainly a distraction, and disrupts what the focus of Z.W.E.I. is really supposed to be: his sword. Viola, at least in gameplay, is pretty unique from the rest of the cast (including the former roster) and I do admire her for that. The orb being the focus is a so "minimal" for Viola when PS adds so much emphasis on the claws too.

I would still love to see new characters that are spiritually like Soul Blade rather than the direction PS is taking now. In other words, more physical weaponry. Fiction, but inspired by some historical points.

Ok, I have a couple of random questions that will probably get ignored completely, but I'll ask them anyway...

1. What DLC items can have stickers put on them? I feel like I've seen people put stickers on the maid costumes, are there any others that are stickerable?
2. Why does everyone hate the Valkyrie set? I think it looks nice, but I feel like there's some reason I'm supposed to avoid it, do the items clash with other stuff or something?
 
Valkyrie Armor has MAJOR clipping issues, that's why people don't like it. The only way it doesn't clip is if your character has an extremely short hairstyle (or none at all, God forbid) and/or is wearing nothing underneath.

The entire roman set can have stickers. :) The demon armor cannot accept sticker... :(

Valk set's fauld cannot be worn with ANY neck item... hip item=/=necklace :s
That and the wings are kind of ugly on the cuirass.
The helm clips like nobody's business.

If I'm not mistaken, most pre-Cepheus store DLC - the Female Customization, Beast, and Trendy packs - is also able to be stickered, along with the Maid pack. Aside from that, I can't really say.

I like the Valkyrie set myself, although if you're considering getting it, keep in mind that the boots are incompatible with pants / skirts and the faulds with neck items. (I don't think the cuirass has that restriction, strangely enough...) Other than that, though, I think it's a pretty good set - I haven't found a use for the cuirass yet, but I think the grieves and arms are pretty useful. I don't really mind the helmet clipping either, but that's me.
 
In the previous Cepheus packs, everything remotely modern that isn't Tekken, armor*, or the bridal dress can have stickers on it for the most part. The Ancient Armor 1/Steel Armor set accepts stickers. Pretty sure another previous DLC armor set does as well, but it's not the Valkyrie gear.

Valkyrie helmt thingy clipping? I thought it clipped with all hairstyles except the buzzcut and bald. Could be wrong though.

I might just wait a little longer and see if they do actually bring out more DLC, because I'll happily empty my wallet for another character pack.

No, seriously; last time they released a character pack, I broke down, started crying uncontrollably and threw money in the general direction of my PS3.
Well, maybe that's a slight exaggeration. I didn't actually cry uncontrollably... much.
 
As far as the new characters go, I did like Viola (the most) & Zwei.

With Viola, her magic orb fighting style was pretty cool. I mean, I know she isn't the first one to use a style like this (a character from Samurai Showdown had a similar style) but still, I think a lot of her moves work and flow well in the series. I think she is a fairly decent fit in the series.

With Zwei, I admit, I think he is one of the most attractive male characters (I'm sure almost everyone knows how much I adore him) but I will agree with the Wolf thing. When I first heard that Zwei was going to have a werewolf (before they released his screenshots), I thought he was going to be an actual werewolf and I'm a big werewolf fan so I was excited. I pictured him being like Jon Talbain from Darkstalkers only Zwei would go werewolf during a certain time in the game or if you pick a night stage. But sadly, you get a half disembodied Werewolf torso who looks robotic. It kind of killed it for me. But still, at least for me, he is fairly interesting.

But I do agree with Solo to an extent. I really hope that if Soul Calibur continues to go onward, they don't turn it into a heavily JRPG fighting game. Maybe it's because I'm not that into JRPGs but I just wouldn't want to see it happen to SC.
