If they were to make an expansion to SCV including more story, characters, etc.. what would it be called?
Super Soul Calibur V rolls off the tongue nice, but "Super" is more of a Capcom/Street Fighter thing.
Let's come up with some titles. I'll start.

Soul Calibur V Legendary Souls edition
Soul Calibur V Sword & Souls edition
Soul Calibur V Blood, Darkness, Come Onto Me! edition (just kidding) :D
Soul calibur V: Pay 60 bucks for things that previeus buyers have to pay extra for as DLC edition.

If Soul Calibur did this I'll never buy their game again. Can't believe people are actually asking for this shit.

So, you'd rather NOT show support for a game you like...just because they re-release it with more content due to rushed development time? Don't be an idiot, please.

(WARNING: WALL OF TEXT)

This isn't rocket science: the economy is in the shitter. Everybody is frantically running around with their tails between their legs trying to make a quick buck all because either their money is worth squat now or their business practices just don't work anymore.

As such, with inflation about, costs to develop your precious games have become much higher, and "fan demand" (read: idiots who go about screaming "MORE MORE MORE") coupled with the need to make said quick buck leaves the developers with much less time to fit what they and consumers want on the disc, and the consumer is left with a product that is less than what it should be.

Then comes the vicious cycle: consumers bitch and moan about every little detail of the game on the internet they consider "wrong" (not that the developers should care or anything, because it's the FUCKING INTERNET), and the developers "comply" by releasing DLC to keep them afloat while they repair the damage.

And herein lies the ultimatum. There is no other choice. The only way we can show our support for SC right now is by buying the content, playing online, and going out to tournaments. The alternative is that Namco will just up and up cancel the series, never to see the light of day again. The legend that never dies, will die. In the most horrible way imaginable.

I apologize for this, but seeing people drop a cause because of miniscule or stupid reasons is one of the biggest things that pisses me off. Show some fucking backbone, goddammit!

its not just cause of the dlc stuff i guess. It all started with the half of the characters gone for new guys thing.Ofcourse it took a while till we rly notice that the new characters suck. And now weve seen the cool dlc stuff and thought hey new sc V sets and the only thing we get is packs for perverts and sm clothing. I mean i dont rly care bout cas at all but it all started with the missing characters and now....

The game is good already. Shamelessly re-releasing it just because of its lack of story (Something which is never prominent in fighting games to begin with) is unnecessary and petty.

If a game re-releases itself then tells me to buy it again if I want to play with all the other players that have the 'Super' version then I have every right to tell them to suck a fat one.

Please google CD projekt red against DLC.
They released HUGE DLC for free they probably are idiots.......or just honest or probably its the same for most of you..

All I hope for now is if they make some sort of Super Soul Calibur 5, that they don't make us rebuy all the DLC again or that for 40 bucks you get all the DLC plus stories and other stuff when those of us who actually bought DLC for our previous versions of our SC5 will feel ripped off. I really dont want them to pull a capcom on us.

Also the online servers should be th same for both games unlike how capcom does it.

Otherwise the new DLC that came out looks pretty good. Much better than the last pack.XD

If they update it I think it will/should be something similar to SSFIV AE. Let's say 2 new characters, a balancing patch, a new story and a bunch of other modes (team battle etc).
But if their system doesn't allow such an update they'll have to offer more to warrant a disc. I mean I know everyone hated Capcom for it but they did offer 10 new characters.

Also I really doubt the DLC content will ever be offered for free.

i would preffer few old characters pack instead of new ones :D you see what happens if they try to make new cool characters that are much different from everyone else (viola...failZWEI) :)

Viola and Zwei are some of the best characters that are in Soul Calibur V. I think you'd agree if we could just see them fleshed out more in the rest of story mode. Viola especially is breath of fresh air. She's feminine, unlike most/all Soul Calibur characters, and is the most mysterious and coolest new character.
Remember that the story mode was never complete. I think they only had it storyboarded and MOST of it recorded? So they should get the voice actors back, but thats going to cost money to rehire them, so a Super Soul Calibur would be a better option then. They could add more stuff as well besides just the story mode (Talim, Zasalamel, and Yunseong/Hwang) and have a higher rate of buyers (Team mode plx)
I feel like we'd like all the characters much more if they were more fleshed out. Cervantes, Mitsu, Hilde, Raphael, Aeon, Yoshi, and Kilik didn't even appear at all (Edge master told Patroklos about Astral Chaos if I remember right). One fourth of the characters weren't even in the story, and I feel like something would be done about that if we had the whole story. Heck, add more to the story if you're going to add characters into it (It could be something simple). Super Soul Calibur V needs to have:
1. A full story.
2. Arcade endings.
3. Bug fixes to Create a Soul (Clipping, floating armor)
4. Better battle quotes (Im hungry/Sorry/Gomenosai needs to go)
Super Soul Calibur V should have:
1. Tag Battle mode.
2. Museum mode.
3. Extra souls/characters. I'd prefer characters but the additional storyboarding may be asking too much.

So you sort of see why we need a Super Soul Calibur V (I think a better name would be Soul Calibur V: Astral Rebirth or something like that). There's many things that were going to be in Soul Calibur V that just need to be included to get the full effect of what we were promised/expecting. The story should be their top priority with Arcade endings. Other modes would be greatly appreciated, and bug fixes should be either a patch to the first Soul Calibur V or included in this one. And PLEASE GOD PLEASE have a method that ports DLC by reading our data for Soul Calibur V.

I really doubt they'll release some super version of SCV, and if they did, it probably wouldn't be worth buying.

If they released it with dramatic changes to gameplay, it probably won't be compatible with the original SCV game's online mode, meaning that those who don't buy it will stay on the original online mode and the new community would be pretty dead. And if they patched the old SCV to make it compatible with the new one, there wouldn't be that much reason to buy a new game, not to mention it'd cost to make that patch.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't see it happening.

Have we had any confirmation that that was the last DLC, because the Daishi post could easily just be a mistake in the translation? I mean, they must know that we'd happily empty our wallets for Viola's 2P.

I preferred it when SC was about more realistic character designs (not saying I want deadliest warrior) with practical weapons. Not this orb shit and a robot wolf...
Well to each his own. Its probably my hours of playing JRPG's that make me like it so much. I dont really care for Zwei as much as I do for viola but witchcraft was pretty big thing back then, and Viola's usually taken as a witch. Its a wonder she hasn't been burned on the stake.

I've never cared for magic at all. If you ever knew me on MMOs or the RPGs I play I would never use magic (minus the special pass for healing magic). Always thought it was 'weak' and 'wimpy' as a child. To me then using magic symbolized cowardice because they weren't man enough to actually fight.

Practical? x3 A magical, segmented, snake-like whip sword that dismantles itself and re-assembles on its own. Cervy's floating swords in some of his win poses. Massive swords nobody could realistically lift. :p But eh...

I DO hate Zwei's wolf. It's the sole reason I have a hard time tolerating him - It's ugly and truly doesn't fit with SC. I guess Zwei's just so hot, they had to add something ugly. He could be GREAT without the wolf - he's almost Talim-like in ways as it is.

Viola, though... I like how she fits in. She's on par with Ivy in how 'nonsense' her weapon is. I like finger-blades. :3 (And don't fucking edit out something as simple as that again.)

Personally, I have no problem with the new characters. They are a bit on the fantastical side, as Solo mentioned, but I actually rather like the game's mixture of historical fantasy. In fact, and while I realize leaving out the veterans would alienate many fans, I think I'd prefer to see an entirely new roster with new and remixed styles over a resurgence of old ones. (Not that I'd necessarily dislike that, either, though!) I think they're more than capable; just so long as they devote the time and effort to fleshing them - both the character and the style - out.
