Well I've probably made enough dolls now, so onto another theme. This time I'm making some 3P edits for the characters I use online most...

Alpha Patroklos

For some reason, Patroklos seems to become less greek when he changes to his Alpha form, so I tried to bring back some elements from his original 2P design.

Did you notice: the pattern on his Pareo is made up of two identical stickers overlapping but moved slightly out of alignment - gold at the bottom and dark blue on top.

As I said in the custom Omega thread, I thought the story of her being an innocent, naive girl taking an evil sword and becoming possessed by the knowledge it carries was kinda like the book of Genesis in which Eve takes fruit from the forbidden tree and discovers some sort of sinister knowledge. So pretty much everything about this costume is Genesis related:

The snake/apple thing on the headpiece is the most obvious Genesis reference.

The pattern on her skirt is meant to look like the silhouette of the forbidden tree against a hellish, orange sky. Its position makes it look almost phallic, which seems kinda appropriate given what the fruit represents.

There's also a gradient effect on the tree and the orange behind it.

Did you notice: The only area of skin that's exposed is the area around her eyes. I really wanted to draw attention to them.

Pyrrha

I also posted this edit on another thread, but here she is for those of you who haven't seen it. The idea behind this edit was to exaggerate her anime image. Everything about Pyrrha makes me think of anime. Her design, her personality, her voice, her mannerisms; just everything, hence this 3P:

Genuinely wouldn't be surprised if she looks a bit more like this in SCVI...

Yeah, that's right. I completely ignored the leaf special equipment and used elf ears instead.

Did you notice: I applied a gradient effect to the flower to make it look a little more realistic (I overuse that gradient so much, it's unreal)

Spoiler: Curiosity killed the cat

When I think of Viola, the words that spring to mind are 'classy', 'elegant' and 'Amy'. So I tried to create a 3P which encompasses all these things.

I used to use a blue and gold edit for Amy back in SCIV, so this design is a bit of a SCIV remake.

I really like her with blond hair and bleached eyebrows (though I do hate how that ribbon sticks outwards for some bizarre, unknown reason).

Did you notice: there's a purple leaf attached to her dress on the chest area. I just can't help but fill up that last equipment slot!

Cervantes

3rd most used

Spoiler: Marooned on a desert island

The idea behind this edit was to give Cervantes a post-mutiny look.
After being overthrown by his shipmates, he finds himself washed up on a desert island, left with nothing but his dual swords and his determination to make those foolish pirates rue the day they mutinied against the dread captain Cervantes.

"Pirate hats and ripped clothing DLC always fetch the highest prices!"

I really wanted to give him brass chains, but unfortunately the chains on ZWEI's coat can't be changed from silver, not to mention how it can't be used with the chains hip equipment.

Did you notice: I applied a gradient effect to all his clothes to make them look dirty.

Yeah, that's right, I'm really doing this. A racial stereotype 3P: Rastafarian Astaroth, or as I like to call him, Rastaroth.

That Cervantes is brilliant, you used an obvious combination (the pants and coat) and made it work.
Have you tried to break the monotony though? Maybe try making part of the hat the same color as the chains? Or just make the feathers white?

Thank you! I didn't think it was that obvious a combination until I made them similar colours, then it suddenly made sense.
Yeah, it did seem a bit daring to use so little colour, but if you see him from behind you can see there's quite a bit of gold on his hat (forgot to take a picture from behind). I might experiment with changing more colour on his hat to match the chains though :)

I figure I should probably have all my CAS in one place if I can, so here are some of the characters I made for Pocky Yoshi's 'Iron CAS' challenge:

Monkeyman

The valiant superhero with a love of throwing his own faeces fighting crime.

Spoiler

Don't be fooled by his adorable appearance, he has the strength of a weightlifter, the speed of moving train and the climbing abilities of... a monkey.

Step aside, Catwoman, this crime calls for a superhero with opposable thumbs!

And of course, a superhero is not complete without his own personalised cape.

The Monkeyman franchise would probably have been a great success had it not been for an unfortunate lawsuit from a famous fast food chain. Apparently a large, yellow 'M' infringes on certain copyright laws...

Did you notice: The 'M' on his cape is made up from a large yellow rectangle sticker with three red triangles tactically placed over the top.

Lola

A duck with one hell of an attitude.

I saw Pocky's challenge to create a CaS that follows the competition's rules accordingly.
Well I hope this character fits the bill.

I'm pretty sure this CaS follows competition rules, so nobody can call fowl play!

Yep, she's wearing a very low-cut top, so no Peking!

Did you notice:Though her skirt is mostly blue, it has been made to "shine" pink. To do this, you apply a pattern to an item then go to the colour selecter that changes all items - set all the colours to whatever "shine" colour you want. I think LordDraco discovered that one.

Your dolls are ridiculously creepy...the creepiest being Princess Barbie.

I'm adding Patsukaklos to the list of "Dickish but Brilliant" things you've made, right alongside Yoshimitsurugi.

Rastaroth did give me a chuckle. I can just imagine him screaming "WEEEEEEED!"

The Kittyhead trio is here, too! I'll spare you the puns this time, Lola and Tiddles are brilliant. Monkeyman is solid but is probably the weakest of the three. If you want to make him more mokeyish you could try using the Crescent Moon as some sort of banana accessory or something. Or you could try using the horn items to make some sort of banana-type-thing (if you've got the patience). I'm all about the bananas here but they are a giant visual sign for monkeys and while you've got a great looking monkey face and the tail, hammering people over the head with "THIS IS A MONKEY YOU IDIOT!" is easily done by the use of bananas. This is science which I definitely didn't just make up. Also for the eyes, one of the ethnic patterns (the one with all the circles) can be played around with to make them look a bit less vacant if you want.

The texturing on his undershirt could also be change to something softer with less bump mapping. I really liked how you made his cape, though.

Great stuff and a belated welcome back!

I really like them! I am totally fangirling over the design on Ariel's skin...was that just a sticker on the torso?
And for Feyrus; I really like his second design. Maybe for the color scheme you could make it more black-and-gold or a brass-ish color? Also, what was the sticker used for the wound over his eye? Or, what level do you have to be to unlOck that?
The Elven Prince (sorry I forgot his name) looks a little husky...mayb it's just his clothes or something. >3>

Haha, I'm having fun with the "dickish but brilliant" category. I like to find that line between a decent CAS and an offensively trollful CAS and dance on it.

Thanks for sparing me the duck puns, because we all know that all animal puns unrelated to elephants are simply irrelephant! ...I'm sorry, I have a compulsion to make bad puns when I see the opportunity, it's like an illness.
Yeah, I tried a crescent moon banana but it just wasn't looking convincing enough and I wanted him to use Patroklos' style, which doesn't really allow for a novelty banana, what with the shield. Maybe I'll experiment with horns though, I didn't think of that.
I'll test the eye thing as well, though a part of me likes the vacantness (yeah, I think it should be vacancy but that sounds wrong) of his eyes, it adds to the whole 'adorable-in-a-derpish-way' image.

Oh wow, thank you! Yeah, Ariel has a sticker on her torso, stomach and one on each leg, all coloured slightly lighter than her skin.
Thanks for the advice, though I ended up deleting his 2P to make room for new CAS seeing as I keep hitting the 50 limit! Who knows, I may remake it one day.
The wound is sticker 88, not sure when it gets unlocked though.
And yeah, he's a good example of how annoyingly bulky the men's clothing can be.

If you ever get time to look at the other two pages, please do. I like to think I'm improving with time :)

I'll update my gallery as soon as I work out what the main character of this imaginary story I'm working on will look like. I've made all the characters except him! :P

I was tempted by the axe funnily enough, but there's something I just love about that scene where she slices that guy's head clean off (y'know when they're after 8th) and she's wielding a sword there. Leixia's bounciness and jolly style just seemed perfect :P

Fun and gnarly stuff, i like the overall feel of your CAS, yet on the realistic ones (the animal kingdom is just priceless) you could add a bit more buff or details...Cervy would benefit a tattoo or 2 and an accessory (tobacco pipe or something).
