The Complete Patroklos Guide Series

Really, Pat needs a guide?... Most gay SC. char ever, well, the second most gay char after alpha pat.
I don't know why I never liked him , is like before knowing he was so brokenI just hated his design, and then I just realized how he was designed to be the best char in a gross way.

Why do people keep asking if he needs a guide? 66B/throws/1K can't win it all the time.
66B is -2 on block, has fantastic range, and leads into combos with amazing damage. 1k is a fast low that does 20 damage and gives advantage on hit. Those moves can't win it all the time but you don't really need much else.

I think it would be easier to list the moves that ain't so useful or good with Patroklos, like 22A[A], 9B+K and of course... Damn, I guess that's it, outside of that he will get awesome natural combos, or knockdowns with extremely good oki options, seriously, I just can't understand how he has so many good moves with good frames, safe, that are evasive and gains a lot of meter, is just a bad prank, and as insane as it is, he recovers faster from grab whiffing...

And of top of that, he is easy in execution, he has one jf that doesn't affect his performance at all, so as Pat player you won't have to worry about missing combos, messing up with jfs, etc.

Whats this thing with pats faster throw recovery about? What frames are we talking about here? Are there differences between other chars as well?

I haven't heard anything about Pat having faster throw recovery. Is this just an assumption based on the animation or has it actually been tested?

Ok i just tested this recovery thing and it indeed seems to be the case that he recovers a tinsy bit faster.
The way that i tested it was with siegfried doing (B)~SBH G~66 B, which seems to be around the sweet spot to what is possible to punish whiffed throws with.

It indeed was possible to hit all the chars i tested it against except Pat.

The thing is, it is still so unsafe to the point that you should be able to punish it with anything that makes sense, like all wr Moves. The difference seems to be really marginal.

I can tell you don't play Patroklos because 66B will get you killed if you just keep throwing it out from mid range and 1K is a close range move. He needs other moves because he has to get in on people due to having T-Rex arms.

It will help if people also knew how verticals track in this game...don't attempt to whiff punish too early or you will eat a vertical that gets its magic hitbox. (most notably from alpha's 33B and pats 66B and many other moves) And there really really should be zero complaints in this thread....because this isn't the thread to bitch about pat its a guide for wanting to learn pat.

Yes, is a fact, him and Ezio has the same recovery after whiffing a throw, is not as good as it was Apprentice's in SC4, but still is better than the rest of the chars.

Patroklos players should be in Heaven with this Patroklos bible that Drake has created. This is seriously great attention to detail. Project Soul would be proud. I expect there to be a lot less malfested in the future.

I remember when I read original topic for the Pat guide, but now I can take it anywhere without wifi! :D

More importantly, this guide is beautiful, but I wish we had ones by the same guys for all the characters. I feel like it's put in a way I understand, beyond numbers, frames, tech traps and etc. It really describes how Pat accels as a rush down character...

Now why don't we have one for Pyrrha Omega? I know she's a bit more simple but I still wanna step it up with her as much as did with Lil Pat.

Now why don't we have one for Pyrrha Omega?
Ah, alas, I hardly play as Omega, and I would be unqualified to speak on her.

I know that there are other characters people would like to play, but without spending the time and engaging in countless battles, I'd just be spreading misinformation. We have players who are experts in their fields, but they may not have the time to contribute, or may not want to contribute for “other” reasons.

So, I’ve been writing the articles in the Tactics forum, in order to give people basics- to help them work on their foundation, their standard play. Basics apply to all characters in the game- once you have good basics, you can play as any character. You can also more clearly see the purpose of moves in the game, and more easily categorize them so that you can use them properly.

The Patroklos guide is an application of those basics. When you have sufficient understanding, you can apply basics and the general framework and principles of the Patroklos guide to different characters, including Omega.

Ultimately, I want you to become self-sufficient- that you may gain your own power, and wield it freely, to become even stronger than I am, and develop past my level of skill, in new and unexpected directions. I am just working to give you a helping hand while you get there.
