Defecting SC players

I really hope they pull through with SCVI, and they try to do better. I did feel SCV was rushed, and because of the lack of content, I have started to lose interest. I really hate to say it, but I am losing interest just because there was not enough content or enough new things to want me to play vs the other fighting games. I felt that most of the characters were just updated from their previous masters/users (with some exceptions). And not to be a fanboy, but not including my old favorites hindered my interest.
Plus the online also hurt my love for the game. The lag has become so bad now that I disconnect more often than not. The lack of single player modes like survival, or team mode, hell even tower of lost souls really made the game boring fast.
I will always love Soul calibur, but until I see a reason to go back, I don't think I will unless I get tired of the other fighting games. Soul calibur will always hold a place in my heart and I hope that in the future, something can be done to make a SCVI like SCII + online + more characters.

That's all subjective. I've managed to make a lot of good modern outfits for my characters. I agree that the firefighter stuff feels very misplaced, but there's always room for modern stuff in Character Creation. It just depends on what it is. Besides, stuff like the bridal dress doesn't need to be treated as just "a bridal dress." Color it black and you have yourself a filled, short, Victorian dress.

Oh no, I didn't mean it like that. I've made good use of the bridal dress and even the sexy PVC corset dress. I liked those pieces once I put my own spin on them. I only meant that it would have been cool if they offered some more period clothing. I personally like creating characters that fit the time line. Now, I'm not saying you can't with the pieces they offered but I would have loved to see more Japanese/Chinese/European styled clothing. And as far ss Tekken packs went, I wish they would have just offered Lili's 2p Victorian dress instead of Asuka's biker gear. But again, that's just me because I like making period/fantasy like characters.

Yeah, I agree with Sin; Just because I use CAS a lot doesn't mean I have turned my back on my fav characters (Tira, Viola, Zwei, Ivy, & Natsu still have my love). :) I try to even it out. I'll use both CAS and main cast. I don't think that CAS will replace the main cast either, that just won't happen ever.
 
I'm defecting because I only bought this game for the story mode. Back in previous games, the story was so unique for each individual character. Like with Setsuka, you got to read a big wall of text, fight a series of random, unconnected battles and then watch a short, disappointing cutscene in which she rejects Soul Edge. Whereas with Sophitia, you got to read a big wall of text, fight a series of random, unconnected battles and then watch a short, disappointing cutscene in which she rejects Soul Edge.

How dare they take away these unique storylines and instead give us these shitty improved game mechanics and decent netcode?

Really I wish we would have gotten the edgemaster mode like we had in SB. THAT'S how you do a story.

but its a little more than that. people are not only playing other games, which is normal, but they've gone back to playing previous sc games, which i dont think is normal.

Mmm I know some players left before the other two games came out but I think what you said is definitetly true now. I'm hearing lots of good things about TTT2 and Persona 4 (Don't care for Persona myself though lol) and later on unless I'm mistaken, DOA 5.

Why isn't it normal? I mean, when SC3 came out, I sometimes went back to playing SC2. And when SCIV came out, I sometimes played both 2 & 3. And then with V out, I have found myself playing 2, 3 & 4 haha.

exactly. people started leaving before the other games were out. good observation
