Japanese offical artbook & guide .. Cassandra, Korean, Setsuka, side story

Tira can't control the power.. And I know her story since uh I mained the bitch since 3.. So please. Stahp.
Excuse you? I was explaing it for anyone who might not know Tira's back story. And who are you to say that I'm wrong? If Daishi wanted to, he could make her wield it. Hell, if he wanted to, he could make her wield soul calibur. All I said was that it WOULD be cool if she did.. Not that she has to.

EDIT: I don't have time to play with you, so just void everything I just said. Rather not clog up this thread with waste.

It would be illogical.

So far, it can be noted that Soul Edge manipulates it wielders by using their worst fears and negative emotions. The sword is said to drive people insane because their minds can't handle its powers and their 'inner nightmares'. Tira's worst quality is probably bloodlust or love for death. It is mentioned in her profile she was unable to stop herself from living a normal life since she realized that it's empty without deaths that she must cause everyday to feel stable. She's grown up with death and without killing someone, it feels abnormal.

Five years, ten years, seventeen years won't make a difference. Her personality hasn't changed. She still craves that need to kill and hurt others. If she grabs Soul Edge her mind will be shattered. This isn't a measurement of strength but it's actually a matter of inner will. Is her soul strong enough to separate itself from Soul Edge's will and avoid being controlled? Most likely no. Tira doesn't have a goal or someone important that gives her the will to live. That's why she's dependent on Soul Edge and death as a reason for her existence. That cannot protect her mind and the darkness from the sword will turn her into a monster.

Soul Edge and its energy takes the worst in a person and multiplies it by tenfold. It's like releasing that dark beast inside you. There's always that one side inside you that is capable of horrible things like murder. Ex, Pyrrha was fearful of being alone and of being rejected. Soul Edge gave her the promise of being forever with her in exchange for souls and she agreed after she transformed into Omega Pyrrha when she was afraid Nightmare would kill Patroklos, the only family she had left. That fear made her turn into a true malfested as she defeated Nightmare.

Only someone who has love/peace/motivation in their heart is immune to Soul Edge. When Pyrrha forgave Patroklos, she no longer has any regrets or anger towards him. Her love for her brother made her realize that she didn't need Soul Edge and that love, stopped the sword from manipulating her fear of being lonely. Pyrrha has embraced the knowledge of what it means to be a family and what it means to trust someone who has failed you before.

I doubt Tira has anything akin to that that can protect her from Soul Edge's despairing darkness. She can definitely become an Omega Tira. Many times throughout history, lots of people have wielded it. But they were all driven insane in the end except for Algol. Basically, the sword needs a suitable host with a VERY strong inner will that can deal with its nightmares.

*Sorry, I went overboard with the text. (>*__*).....

I know Tira would become a monster of some sort and go insane(r) and stuff, but that's what would make her a good final boss! :D a one time boss I guess. But, as I said before, each to their own. I think it'd be new and cool, you guys don't.

I'm not reading xD

Well, regarding the idea of Tira wielding SE there's always the fact that...she has absolutely no interest in doing so. She wants SE to kill her/devour her soul/be her boyfriend/whatever, and seeing as she spent twenty years trying to find a new host for it that wasn't herself instead of just killing Dumas and taking it...Yeah, I don't think she has interest in actually wielding SE.

Although it would be pretty awesome if she did. Gloomy, Jolly, and Soul Edge...Maybe the SE persona would be the Sexy Tira all the fake patch notes have implied.

This is a very interesting take on SE~ Thanks for this post :D You sounded like a total pro on Soul Edge ^ -^

All instances of Tira refusing to wield Soul Edge herself is implied to be directly related to her stimulation from violence. Soul Edge is awe-inspiring and intoxicating to her for its innate desire for violence, murder, and slaughter. The whole reason Tira served the original Nightmare was because she was infatuated with his strong, cold, cruel, and malicious character that killed whoever stood in her way.

Recognizing Nightmare as simply an avatar of Soul Edge pouring itself into its vessel, Tira loves the sword. Dumas, an avatar which acted as a manipulator of politics and rhetoric, was quite different in intent. It wasn't the end result that Tira was bothered by, it was the approach by which Nightmare intended to reach such an end. Its like wanting that stimulating high but then realizing its not the thing you wanted.

Therefore, two things need to be achieved with Tira: Soul Edge must have a host nearly identical in action to the original Nightmare and she must be alive to observe said Nightmare's actions.

The only exception I can find to this is that Tira would wield the weapon as a last resort of total desperation, which I find unlikely. However, I speculate (should a new SC game be released) her next target will be either Z.W.E.I., a new character, or a suit of armor that will act as a vessel similar to Zasalamel's resurrected Nightmare (however unstable).

Just a curious question but why Zwei? If I had to throw out a guess, it might be because Ein's spiritual powers can protect him and keep his body from being destroyed by SE enormous powers.

Thanks :3
It's all very simple actually. SE drives ppl insane and makes them more evil as it manipulates their evil emotions/weaknesses/fears.

SC eventually freezes people solid as their bodies are no longer able to withstand her powers. Like SE, it also manipulates people since it kept telling Pat that killing Pyrrha is the way to save her and bring salvation to the world. But I think SC just deludes it wielders and make them believe/worship her. She and ONLY she is their goddess and their way to true happiness and salvation. Her orders are absolute. She is their idol, their angel, their everything. Only she can bring salvation and the wielders must use her holy powers to smite the darkness. No forgiveness or anything. Like a cold judge, she condemns anyone who makes a mistake. In return for her idea of peace and order, only those who are perfectly good lives. But of course... who is perfect in this world? Only her of course.
*It's going to be a dead and silent world. That is 'true' order. Commence ICE AGE (>*O*)

And in that way SC reminds me of SE. Sure she may not be obvious about it but Im sure SC is pretty much prepared to kill anyone in the way of SE getting destroyed. She really doesnt care for the wielder imo. She just wants somebody to do the dirty work~

Z.W.E.I. was immediately discarded by the writers through Tira (albeit indirectly). With Nightmare's manner of death unknown and Tira' reaction to Pyrrha's failure also unknown, Z.W.E.I. is the closest and most open candidate for Tira. Since he is a new character who has obvious anger issues regarding Nightmare and Soul Edge, it would be easy to make him a new host in the story (although I would hate if his style is lost as a result).

I believe he is a logical choice, although not the only choice.

That's logical. Since Zwei defeated Nightmare, Tira should be rather impressed by his powers and believe that he is a worthy host. But then I'll lose another main again (>©_©) Oh Talim... Zwei...

They stilll havent told us why Z.w.e.i is Z.W.EI and not Zwei..
Like seriously, do you people thing those letters stand for anything or they're just there to make him see more cool or hip or whatever them youngsters are saying nowadays~
