Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate

So apparently Helena is getting buffs in the upcoming patch. I don't see why, she still seems like she can hang with the rest of the cast to me, but I sure as hell won't complain.
I'd love for her to be top tier, what I don't necessarily want is for her to wind up in Viola's position. Well partly I'd love that. But what I wouldn't love is how other people might react to that.

Nah, leave Ayane alone. Deep down she's a good kid and is fine where she's at. Jann Lee on the other hand can go to Hell. Not sure about Pai Chan or Gen Fu yet.

Don´t get me wrong, Ayane is a cool character, but she ist imo too good atm.

my cherry Pai ain't overpower at all. I learned that darn near every character in the game out reach her. so that's annoying. and her jabs are really weak.

Her frames on block and especially on hit are often to good imo.

I like how people are calling for balance patches when the game isn't even a month old.

Well, game is young that´s for sure, but it is better to say something sonner than to late...

Ayane is debatable, jann pai and gen are fine.

online is wonky.

patch IS coming.

Jann is really to good in my oppinion. Let´s see what Team Ninja is doing in the future.

Am I alone in thinking LEIFANG is overpowered!? :|
I wanna say that I don't think so, but truth be told I haven't spent a lot of time playing as or against her so I wouldn't know. Why not consult the experts over at FSD Under? Maybe see what her buzz is looking like.

What exactly is wrong with LeiFang? She's one of the few defensive-oriented characters in the game. She has good counter holds and some throws but nothing spectacular. The only thing I can think of is the surprising safety of most of her moveset. However of any character to complain about, LeiFang probably isn't too high on that list. Besides the game is still VERY young and calling people OP right away can be disasterous. Look what happened to Leixia (and Viola in the sense of the other direction). Check out LeiFang in Lab and try her out for your self.

It's crazy how people can think something is too good or too weak so fast.
Finally someone,thx.

If people think that a character is overpowered, maybe they are underpowered lol(jk)
...but anyway..What im trying to say is...LEARN THE GAME BEFORE COMPLAININ` ABOUT A CHARACTER!

good thing this is 8WR and hopefully the devs to DOA aren't looking around. definitely don't want what happened to SC5 to happen to this game. remember in SC5 when it first came out that there weren't really any tiers? just about any character could win a tournament? what happened to that? this is why i've been sticking to League of Legends because any character is GOOD if you use them well. I hope these patches don't ruin the DOA5 game.

Don't have much time for the game now because of school but definitely loving Kokoro. Funny because I was going to pick her up back when I had 4 while I was in the Army but didn't have time for the game because of that. =p

Yeah I don't see any difference from people saying Seigfried is OP in SCV.

Don't you just love it when people go out of their way to make a fake facebook profile just so they can TROLL you...

I think the concern is that her advanced counter holds are really good damage-wise. A right read and timing leads to some pretty massive damage. Also, because of online, lots of players are simply poking with her to the point of annoyance. She's so safe online you can't really punish her. It isn't really true, but that's the perception.

Everyone online (well... everyone that isn't very good) falls for 2H+KK counter hit into 7K combos. Kasumi PPP...ing? 2H+KK. Christie KKK? 2H+KK! Rig spamming highs? 2H+KK! Spinning Ayanes'? 2H+KK! And then 7K and then P6P6P. Or 4PKK.

Meh...

I did finally find some players holding on 8P6P so they're no longer always eating the combo, but others still eat it. Sadly, Heichu isn't getting much love because no one wants to read what I'm doing and I just eat counter hits every time I try to mix it up. I have to play dumb to beat these guys (well... not as dumb as them).

That said, I find 1KK4K is nice and safe and you can use BT P+K to force a sit-down stun on a standing player. Then go for better guaranteed stuff than 236P's SDS. I'm occasionally forgetting to 66P+K after 236P connects, but even if I do, I usually can't find anything to connect afterwards. The stun causes an immediate fall back and nothing but lows tend to connect for me. If, on the occasion that 66P+K whiffs on of its hits, you can Heichu P+K into the opponent and put them in a red stun state. From there, you could aim for a CB or go for a launch combo. Still, I don't like this particular setup since it feels a little too random.

Leifang's advanced counter hold damage doesn't bother me because you really have to make good reads to utilize them. If someone is being so predictable with their strings that they get held enough for it to be a problem, they probably need to mix it up more. She's very linear (sidesteps can kill a lot of her offensive game), her long range game is piss poor, and her launchers are pretty predictable and easily counterable. She excels in lots of areas but I think too many people ignore her weaknesses.

And does anyone have some Pai tips? She feels kind of like Leifang with faster strikes to me. How exactly should she be played?
