Food for Thought: What the Soul Calibur series needs.

But yeah, though it would be nice if we got a few modes or...something. All that matters at the end of the day is money to work ratio. Putting myself in the position of an executive at bamco, I would not have them work on something that would not be bought out by the majority. Again, just putting myself in the position of a conservative businessman.

Other wise, I agree that providing some additional content to the game would (probably) help the game and the community's opinion. But for the next installment, what do you think you would like to see the most or possibly help the game over all, gatsu?

1- Wait, it don't need to be bought out by the majority to be a economic profit, all depend how much it cost less compared to the original game (and will be way less). Is like add a floor to a palace, not build a new one from zero.
Let's be clear, Capcom did'nt did it for charity or to be fan friendly
Numbers
1,8 million of SSF4 (start price was 40$)
+
400.000 of SSF4AE (start price 15$)
+
????? SSF4 DLC costumes
+
????? SSF4AE DLC costumes

And all these moneys with relative light work AFTER vanilla SF4, using his skeleton as huge base
Being a conservative businessman mean like play safer as possible.... and as now add a floor will be way safer game than build a new palace

2- What will help?
Add. Casual love see added stuff.
Add characters (returning ones with yet existing fan base and new ones)
Add stages
Add stuff
After the reputation of do half-product the next one must give the perception -true or not, perception- of be the biggest, the most complete, the most full of stuff SC ever
Is stupid, but effective

As personal taste as long they copyed SF, i will like if they continue copy and give me a 2nd selectable Ultr... ehm... Critical Edge, when they introduced it in SSF4 match up becomed way more interessing, you chose the ultra most usefull for that specific fight. I loved it i will like see it traslated in SC

Project soul should never feel they need to dumb down their game just to attract new players or hold hands for people. They should get people to work for their skill to keep up like they use to-they have a core fanbase and need to suport them, not the Street Fighter Fans. I say bring back the long movesets and multiple stances... I mean it makes sense for characters aclaimed to be master of their art to have multiple stances or maneuvers to them especially with a weapon like Ivy's. Th only issue is, how PS can get the player to control it. Don't take them out. Give us more oportunies to practice. Go Back to Weapon master that gave you missions telling you to do certain combos over and over succesfully enough to earn experience for leveling up. Actually teach people how to use the characters. If you think certain moves are "useless" let others figure that out for themselves. Games used to be about learning and proving you can learn and evidently people used to learn. (And this is coming from an open casual)

what the SC series needs is more more more. more moves, more stances, more styles, more characters, more weapons, more outfits, more stages, more CAS slots, and more faces, a lot more faces. I wouldn't mind paying $120 for a game twice as big as SCV. I mean, just going to movies with my wife costs $40 and that's not including the cost of dinner or the cost of the weed we have to smoke in the parking lot because the movie probably isn't going to be any good.
And i know this is off topic but i'm new to fighting online and when i realized that rage-quitting in ranked mode doesn't count as a loss i nearly shit myself. if you quit for any reason you should be awarded a loss and your opponent should be awarded a win. what the SC series needs is some common sense. does anyone here know why quitting was allowed in ranked?

Makes me wonder now; what if they made the game more challenging by giving characters more then one stance like Ivy (though in respect to the limitations) I think of all of them The Sheild and Sword users seem to look like they can use another stance, that - Xiba, Maxi and Leixia (considering how they fight looks dance oriented and means poses meaning stances like Yun-Seung.)

Story-wise I think they need to take notes from Darksouls on the lure. This narrative here is what I picture Viola should do in the begining of the storymode or even the game's intro. But the game in general tells the lure a lot better then SC does. (im referring to after SC3)

That could totally work. I can imagine Viola's ominous voice describing the events of what happens in the story mode. Makes it more intriguing, mysterious, and inviting.

I agree with Viola being a narrator for the game's intro and the beginning of the story mode. At least for the Europe side of the story mode.

However, I personally like the new system voiceover though.

More of everything! Bring back everyone, bring all the content we've known to love over the years and give the fans what we want. I'm down for it.

The problem with this is that dark souls lets you find things. A fighting game does not. More over, just because it would be in a similar style, that would not instantly make the story good. You need good writers first before making a good story in the game, regardless of execution.

It makes sense for me to have her reiterate the past events like this considering her ability with the Crystal ball and her similarity to Theresa in Fable I see with her. They can always improve the storytelling through dialogue from characters within the story within battle.

Casual words to make hardcores vomit:

Remember Erhgeiz? More to the point, remember the Dungeon Mode within? I spent more time playing that than the fighting game itself. Remember Soul Calibur Legends? That should have been a dungeon mode of sorts. Except... better. :p
