So you wanna be emo - A Tira guide

Pff... -9 means the only thing it'll lose out to is Taki's 2bA. Safe enough. Can probably bait aGIs with it nicely, though.

It's even better for baiting auto-GI's on hit since most ws moves are mid and the opponent is left in FC.

That's where I used it.

Whoever said following up with sidestep afterwards must be playing some very linear players....that advice is so incredibly situation you deserve your life reassessed for saying such a thing.
I believe that was me that said that. It has it's weaknesses I agree, but 4b+k provokes an attack as it isn't used much.

Using an rarely used move to provoke a predictable response from the enemy where you can sidestep and/or punish it in some way is the moral of the story here.

Every character has sidesteppable attacks that are worth using (Amy 6BB, Tira BB). I know of no character that can mount an offense with zero linear moves.

Anyway, can someone share some sidestep baiting moves? Maybe I am playing crappy people, but sidestep, 3B is just too sweet not to try at least now and again. If you say it's not worth it to sidestep.. Umm...then why are we trying to find places for auto-GI's like GS B+K to land when you are just plain screwed if you whiff. Where as sidestepping leaves you open for less than half the amount of time and you get a launcher if you are right.

He's not saying sidestepping is worthless, he's just saying that a canned "string" of sidestepping isn't the best idea.

It's completely dependent on who you're playing against and isn't really a particularly better option in that instance.

For example, I have friends that, when they find themself in FC, pretty much always do an FC 2A. Most 2A's a very difficult, if not impossible, to sidestep.

Sure, you'll find some people that will always use something like wsB when in FC and THEN sidestepping could be a good option, but you really need to do this sort of thing on a case by case basis.

As for the B+K correlation, the difference is that the situations where B+K might be useful are basically stated in just that way. All of the other "setups" you listed were pretty straightforward "this will beat out this in this situation" but sidestep only beats out like 50% of moves at any given time.

I don't mean to be rude, just trying to be more clear.

Cha cha and all this phailing. He doesn't get enough.

Next time I play online I'll focus on my opponent's reactions to whatever I'm doing and report back. BTW frame trapping into GS 44B is the effin' sauce! Ex. GS 22B, 44B GIs all possible As. I'll add this and more to the first post.

Can the stun from GS 44B be shaken out of? I've been avoiding this move for lack of application, but I've eaten so many Amy 6B interrupts that I'm starting to give it a second glance.

It's unshakeable. Move's great the way it is IMO. Takes a little luck to get the aGI since a few factors play (late aGI frame window [17-25], opponent's A attacks, their pattern, etc.) but if you really want it badly use it post-GI when you think they'll re-GI. It won't help you against Amy 6BB though. General advice against Amy is to keep her short-ranged self at range when possible. No mixups to worry about if she can't hit you.

Mister Dius is back and going to be testing some stuff out, i've had this idea for a wicked combo since tuesday and since i got my xbox back it's time to have some fun, I'll post the results

Somebody clarify this for me.

I was using tira as a beatup dummy and i noticed that she started in GS.

So i put a tira mirror match in training.

__

My question is,

does p1 tira always start in JS and p2 tira always start in GS?

In training it seems that way. And there's a higher chance of each respective mood as you mentioned for the corresponding sides. It's odd but this is Tira after all.

EDIT: Started oki section.

wow, nice find.......*cough*. I demand satisfaction, credit now please.
Uh....it wasn't news to me when you brought it up crumpet. But meh you can have all teh credit you wants. Back to my Tira oki now.

I can't help when I figure stuff out loser. Instead of being like "oh I already knew that -elitist snicker-" I say good find and support you trying to use it. Too bad you havta use HP just to do it.

Fair enough :(
Ouch though... I however don't support the usage of it, other than maybe once for the shits n giggles.

I do however like to use 22B a lot despite it's self harm, damn you self harm.

You know all the tricks :( I feel like there's nothing left to say.

Lol @ this convo between us. I didn't even think of the incredible potential this trap had until you brought it up. So just because I "know" it doesn't mean I use it. Please keep posting whatever you think is worthwhile. I'd love to continue hearing it. 4B+K for example I didn't use until all of you brought it up. I don't know everything and never will.

EDIT: Added in preferences I have for post-GI atm.

4B+K is awesome for mixup. in combination with 1K and all you Tira fan favourites...22_88B JS, etc.

BF66A is a great runner stopper. GS88K and WS11K (runnin at em) is also great mindfuckery. Knowings move properties is one thing but creative application is another.

So many TCs n TJs its really a matter of understanding your opponents

Alrighty. I've decided to move the guide to the wiki. Discussion on it can continue here of course. I'm still learning how to format in wiki so don't laugh.
