Ideas for new characters?

The only time people give a shit about cultural ethnicity in videogames is when it might offend someone. That's why no tribal-anythings, generally.

So, I'll take a white-guy-native-american who uses a giant hammer/ax and doesn't fight with any kind of traditional native american weaponry over nothing at all. Besides, if SC3-5 is any indication of the direction of the games; the weapon is not a defining feature of a character anymore.

Spanish fencing. Single-handed weapon user / original technique
Realistic two-hander European swordsman. (Arthur?)
Flail / Chain weapon

SEONG MI-NA.

A legit bruiser/unarmed character, obviously lower tier but available (possibly with sais or kamas). Or TONFAS. :'(

Curved swords
Multiple weapons (when Ezio is gone it's going to feel like a hole, I tell you.)
Body is a weapon + is not a creepy old freak

The last set of characters from SC4, SC4BD and SC5 (Aside from Hilde) all don't have that traditionally / historically based warrior vibe.

Glowing weapons from your back/forearms with bubbles.
Goofy-wrist mounted hidden blades.
Magic fortune telling ball.
Magic Wolf friend + tri-handled sword.

Meanwhile, some of the cast have become supernatural:

Frankenstein monster
Vampire
Possessed by demons

Lets hope at least 1 future character goes back to something more "grounded".

Well, yes, but not every character in SB-SC3 possesses those either. Voldo and Cervantes I would say are the only ones who don't in SB, but SC after is when it all begins to come in: Nightmare (Probably the biggest example, but people seem to accept him), Ivy, Astaroth, Aeon (People accept him too), Tira, and Zasalamel. Technically Yoshimitsu, but he has historical overtones and influences in his design.

I would say Taki too, because she's the 90s-present depiction of a kunoichi, but it depends on what she wears. The bodysuit she wore was definitely modern. Just Natsu is more modern than Taki for many other reasons.

I do agree that we do need more of the traditionally/historically-based warriors though. Leixia and Xiba is more culturally influenced. Xiba especially.

Okay, okay...

I do have an idea of what this game is about. A 3D weapons based game in which everyone is out to stop or wield Soul Edge for their own purposes. By the way, have you played Soul Edge, in that game there's a weapons gauge in which should a weapon's lifebar is depleted, the character has to resort to fighting unarmed...LOOK IT UP!

I didn't even dare to reply to him, because I knew someone would beat me to it.

There was a drawback to that feature though. Everyone fought with the same style. I guess it's to illustrate how useless the feature was, or how bad it was executed. I wouldn't mind if it returned, but I don't think it needs to.

Thank you...someone at least understands what I was trying to convey, per say.
