If there was a Soul Calibur VI, prequel/sequel/reboot/retcon?

No, It may have had routes in anime cliches because of the art and its japanese artists but thats design. I mean the writing. The writing in SC5 is just so corny and the asian group sounds way too modernized and relaxed for warriors but have interests of a typical anime slice of life fail comedy. The writing is what makes it obvious and the thing that determines if it truly is or not. This weird writing and strange dialogue started in SC4 but grew prominent in SC5. These characters dont act like warriors anymore.
They could've used a blend of some modern and some of how warriors should speak, like how the way the warriors in SC2 and 3 spoke like Mitsurugi's for example "Not even the king of hell can stand against my blade" or something like Yoshimitsu's "A raging fire becomes dying embers" something like that. Just because their teenagers doesn't mean they have to talk the teenagers of our time. I'm pretty sure teenagers in the 16th century didn't talk like that.

SCV's story was a waste of time anyway but waiting until SC24 to realize "gee our story sucks" would make it worse. If I were PS I'd fix it up here while these characters are still new.
SCV's story wasn't a waste of time, they had a lot of material for the game but ran out of time due to time constraints.

They need to expand on ALL the characters. I really hated how passive and detached Ivy was. Boring. I miss the tough and assertive ambitious character she was in SC2. Now shes been reduced to a meek and seemingly depressed librarian. Now shes just boring eye canday with no persoality or bitchy attitude that made her badass. Natsu reminded me way too much of Naruto (not counding the voice) where nobody acts like a professional fighter but a 10-year old with sharp ended toys.
This I agree with, especially with the Asian fighters, Viola, and Z.W.E.I. We want to know how Natsu ended up with Arahabaki in her body and how Taki managed to teach her on how to control it, or what's the deal with Xiba being so food obsessed. I thought this kid was going to be some sort of truth teller because his promotional trailer said he was an "Honest Young Man" but it was misleading. Then there's Leixia, and the Dvapara Yuga episode. I still want to know why Xianghua freaked out over it, and why Leixia is now on this journey with Xiba and Maxi to find Kilik. I think there is some coincidences and some hints that Project Soul are nodding at us to look into. And finally Viola and Z.W.E.I. Who are these characters? For all we know Viola could be Amy and Z.W.E.I. could be just an actual original character with no actual ties to anyone in the story other than being in Schwarzwind. I want answers from the game, not some artbook, that's just a cheap cop-out because you ran out of time on story mode, make the rest DLC.

It bothers me greatly knowing how much the writing directors have been negligent in the performance of their duties here. At most the anime cliches would be drastically dropped if the characters at least consistantly spoke with the dialect they should be under within the time frame. Natsu just opened my eyes showing me how bad its getting. I would have liked more poetic speech used by all the characters to reflect that this isnt modern day and remind us how intelligent peopled used to be. I miss the days where I needed a dictionary right beside my controller. They need to consider actually doing more with the lore and recreate the presumptuous atmosphere. Nightmare and Dampierre seemed to be the only characters really paying attention these days.

That doesnt really matter I have a feeling that the bad dialogue would still have been the same.

Again, referencing back to the days of SB to maybe SC3, the way that the characters talked was very direct to the time period that they were in. They didn't have to go over the top like it was a Shakespeare play but like you said, I would've also liked more poetic speech used by all the characters, too.

The dialogue was corny as hell. Let's leave it at that.

Can you give this a rest, for the love of god? It's Christmas. Take a day where you aren't slandering people who create things, please.
Not expecting/accepting feedback to that creation is ignorant. Nothing more to argue. I honestly dont know how you get past the first sentence of game reviews.

Here is the thing. There is intelligent criticism, and there is melodramatic whining. Look at the very words you chose; and it's plain as day. Intelligent criticism doesn't have to invoke the emotions of it's reader to make the point. It doesn't have to tug at heartstrings or play on nostalgia or feelings. It simply stands as is. You do none of this, and this is why I have a problem with you and this thread. All you do is make the fanbase look like a bunch of oversensitive crybabies. Cut it out, just for ONE DAY.

The dialogue has never been excellent at all in the series. If anyone that has great dialogue, it's Hilde and the announcers.
I don't think you are being fair here.
"Hope only brings disapointment" Amy
"My sins are the cross I must bear" Sophitia
"That is a sin...that I could never forgive." from you least expect (Tira)
Ivy's quotes sounds better in context but
"Too many sins have been committed by both of us."
And this tense" dialogue
"Aha ha ha ha! Here she comes! To abandon your children and travel all this way. You're such a horrible mother. Sheesh!"
"Is because I'm a mother, I raise my sword, to protect my children"
Not going to enter in old Vs new but the past games had some nice dialogues

I would like a sequel.
In that they could tie up loose ends, explain how all of this came to pass.
I'm not a big fan of reboots or prequels, i like some like MK or Star Trek, even though that Red Matter didn't make sense to me.
Others i didn't like that much because of stuff they screwed up like Chrome Ships and JarJar in star wars.
Or Bruce wayne's father who was not killed by Jack Napier.
(If that's comic wise correct, i'm sorry, i grew up with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson)

I don't think one of those would help SC at all storywise.
Because
1. It would look like a bad MK ripoff.
2. It would make SCV story completely useless (IMO opinion it is at this moment not bad, just incomplete)
A reboot would turn SCV into some kind of stillborn.

At this moment i see SCV as one gigantic cliffhanger lol.

I guess I was too lazy to look, but regardless, it ranges from literate (Hilde, Announcer), to cliche (Most of the roster), to ...yes...modern (Xianghua, Seong Mina, Yun-Seong), and then you have Amy/Viola where she tries to be literate but it comes off as her being "Captain Obvious". Don't forget the use of interjections (Setsuka, Ivy).

For those of you saying that the cast of SC shouldn't talk in a modernish way lemme remind you of something.

Xianghua: JUST KIDDING~ Did everyone forget about that? what chinese woman in the 16th century said JUST KIDDING then did a coy stance.

I personally have no problem with the way they speak. If we're going to worry about something being changed for the sequel or whatever it should be something that actually affects the gameplay. That's just me though :p

Now you're confusing historical accuracy to communication consistancy. It doesn't matter if she says that because the phrase is general, not slang for something modern considering the era they're trying to potray. Thus dialogue like that makes the game look less then what it tries to be and more like a cosplay party for a bad school play. I'll worry about whatever aspects stands out enough to me when I come across it within its mention in the discussion. You have everyone else on this site to argue with. You say you have no personal problem so why make it personal?

Let me ramble and say this. I'm very worried of peeps like you and others like you. You're always so anal about every little thing. From "that didn't suck" Natsu speech to many other things. I'm sure you've already seen what everyone was wearing in all the SCs that was made. Were any of them as accurate to a real kunoichi, greek, etc? Can a Samurai do an attack like Mitsurugi's 9A+B in real life? Of course not.

I already know peeps in today's society(including me) have no idea what the feudal era was like. None of us lived in that time. All we do is fap off to that genre with some fantasy spin-off stories of ours. To say that's not what a kunoichi talks like, is like saying "hey the lord shouldn't say you suck". He should say "Bow before my grace and receive my blessings".

In summary, SC series is just silly fantasy Japanese weeaboo anime stuff. This stoic and adamant stance you take on voicing your opinion is to this day irritable as hell. I already know it's futile to stop you, but if you're gonna be anal about one thing, know that peeps like me will just say deal with it every time. Causing the whole page to be about well your opinion and how peeps always shoot it down.....repeatedly

tl;dr Stop being so anal and if you can't do that, why not take up job of making a consumer happy? I doubt you'll get far, but you can prove me wrong. This will be the last I say to you since you're hopeless.

Ignoring is a ease way out really, we are on a forums living with opinions that are not or go against our own is but the essence of it, besides ignoring is intellectual sabotage since you are only going to read things that is good at your eyes.
