Characters that need to GTFO (In My Opinion):
Kilik. Realistically PS has permanently replaced him for Xiba. I can't see Xiba being removed after his first game and two Bo staff styles would piss me off even more than Kilik being replaced did. Edgemaster is infinitely cooler than him as the mimic-master type character too, so he serves no purpose.
Maxi. He's one of my favorite male characters, but he is so irrelevant now. I don't like the idea of him playing babysitter to team asia. His feud with Astaroth is played out and tedious.
ALGOL. He was an unnecessary boss character in his introduction and hasn't became any more relevant since. Fuck him and nightmarish toenails.
Elysium. If you're gonna kill off Sophitia, let her be dead. But don't have a useless mimic character stand as a constant reminder of her.
Guest Characters. Im sick and tired of Namco using Soul Calibur to whore out advertisements. Ezio's spot could've gone to, I don't know, FUCKING TALIM.
Im on the fence about Cervy. He used to be so badass that Sophitia, Taki, AND Siegfried had to bad together to defeat him. Now he's not threatening at all.
This...
I agree with most of what you said. Kilik being replaced with Xiba is actually a good thing since many people don't have to struggle against his Asura Dance, 1B, and 4B+K.
One mimic is enough imo. Charade could use all styles in SC2 and Olcadan could too in SC3. Now in V, we have three mimics!! Why not let Kilik be the new edgemaster and remove the original one? Great characters such as Talim were bumped out with so many mimics.
How is Cervantes not threatening anymore?? I always find him a tough matchup and he's always been considered god-tier though he has been nerfed in V.
Yeah, I wasn't all too thrilled with Kilik being replaced by Xiba but having Kilik being the new Edge Master in his story is absurd. Him being in a cave and collecting weapons from Astral Chaos just so he can be like his master? Come on, Kilik, is this what you left Xianghua for? And I do agree that Talim should've been on the roster.This...

You know me a little too well. lolPretty much but knowing jtdam09, he's being sarcastic as well.
And I meant threatening in the Villain sense. Cervantes is my absolute worst matchup in this game, I just don't think he's as cool as he was.
"sophitias children turned out completly lame and idiotic". thats funny as hell but true XD normally namco would make a character and then make variations to the move list, and then a new caracter could exsist. taki and natsu could exsist as characters with different moves list but the time line mess's that up. maybe zasalamel can teleport all the new kids to the past so they can coexsist. then sophitia can meet her bi-polar children. The time skip screwed the series, just like Tekken. Being that Sophitia's children turned out completely lame and idiotic, the justification for doing so fell flat on its face.
No one wants to see replacements of classic characters.
They should just make a Soul Calibur tag game without any story or required logic so the older characters, all the way back to Soul Edge, can be seen again.

I love Leixia's moveset but yeah, her character annoys me a lot as well. I didn't mind Xianghua but for some reason, I can't stand Leixia and they are like exact copies. And I especially don't like the quotes she says.
Yeah your statement doesn't make sense at all. Those two are pretty much the same. Maybe your reasoning is nostalgia related. I don't see the difference between those two besides Xianghua being harder to deal with in a fight.
As for Xiba. The concept was very cool. The Monkey king was always an interesting character type to me and Xiba had potential to be great. I remember when they first showed his character art before the game was out, I was excited to see what he'd be about. Then the game comes out and you hear his quotes... O_< Gah, it was such a let down. I probably wouldn't miss him if PS decided to scrap him like they did with Hwang & Li Long.
I completely agree.
I can accept that SCIII was a continuation of SCII but SCIV shouldd've taken place at least 2 or 3 years after SCIII.SCII-SCIV all take place during the same year as retarded as it sounds.
I would've loved to see a more maturer Xianghua but for now, we have Leixia. I just hope Project Soul surprise us by having some of the vets come back as bonus characters (looks directly at Seong Mi-Na, Taki, and Xianghua).Mmm maybe it is the nostalgia a bit but in SCIV, Xianghua didn't annoy me as much as she did in SC2. I thought that maybe it was because she was getting older and more maturer perhaps? So I guess maybe the same will happen to Leixia. I hope in the next game though, they give her better win quotes. I know quotes in fighting games are supposed to be cheesy but I think Leixia next to Xiba have some of the worst ones I've ever heard.
Leixia replaces Xianghua but she is curious to know who her father is. She sees a secret painting that Xianghua had done of her and Kilik together and overhears her mother talking about her lost love Kilik. She then decides to sneak out of the palace to go find out who her true father is. Xianghua finds out that shortly after that her daughter ran off and sends out her good friend Maxi to go find her and bring her back to the palace. So on and so on.
I don't know, it's something right? xD
Mmm interesting. Maybe they'll explain more in the next gameYou know what, you got something here that could be a potential storyline for Leixia that may open this whole debate. People are still speculating over whether Leixia is Kilik's daughter. She has the Dvapara Yuga, a pendant synonymous with Kilik, and even in her bio, Xianghua tells stories about him to her, possibly leading the speculation even more. Not to mention that Kilik tells her (and Xiba) to not lose sight of what is important. I think there is something that Project Soul isn't telling us
IF they make another game. There is something that Project Soul is not telling us. Why would Leixia have Kilik's pendant and try to say that she isn't Kilik's daughter. One of the developers as I recall from one of the threads that Leixia is K's daughter and that a lot would be revealed in story mode, which didn't happen. I'm certain that Leixia could be Kilik's daughter. There's too much coincidental evidence.Mmm interesting. Maybe they'll explain more in the next game
I think its the voice acting. I didnt even know wendee lee did her voice until SC4... its that different.Mmm maybe it is the nostalgia a bit but in SCIV, Xianghua didn't annoy me as much as she did in SC2.
