Woof-Woof: Ultimate Guide to ZWEI

I'll be in this guide more often. Wanna learn ZWEI as of lately.
Welcome to the wolfpack. Good luck mastering the character (you'll really need it. I know I did) And may I suggest you play some of the best Zweis on PSN: FinalLifeG, STRYDERcm, HawkFalcon, Insidious_Oreo, Hammer, Playstat, Big_Majin, Tanhausser, RainForest, BeeSnipe, and more. The list goes on, but it doesn't get any better than the first couple I mentioned... unless you play Kerrigan

Will do then. I'm not completely switching over to ZWEI letting you know now.

You're right, EIN does track fairly well here.

Sorry I haven't seen 44Bir written, ever, not sure what you mean. The CE staple into wake-up also can do massive Guard damage with 66A+B/ KF B/ B+K BE setups. All of which are far more practical. 44B is very specific/ risky/ hard to time/ not worth it. It would be better if it were faster and in this situation can't reach far enough. I'm guessing you mean CE, 66A {BE}, 44B EIN setup?

Its not that its situational, and I respect your enthusiasm for finding 66A BE a better setup, however its almost like there are no good setups with this move and it should just be viewed as a high damage sidestep catcher. If I didn't understand anything please help me cause I had to break down your post to figure it out.

Sorry about the delayed response Bear, i've been WAY too busy for my own good these past weeks lol. and yes i was referring to the CE, 66A(BE), 44B setup. stylish as hell but probably not worth it is a perfect assessment. You seem to have read everything just about perfectly as well except for the "ir" notation i wrote. I get the confusion about "ir" alot so i should probably explain it a little better lol "xs i use it as a notation for "instant release." It fits in the context of releases held down attacks like zwei's 4A/1B and other wolf attacks as well as Hildes' charge attacks. The "ir" notation helps me get across when the wolf should be let loose for its attack in notations.

though now i agree with you about the sidestep catcher status of the 66A(BE) as the mixup with 22/88K is just beautiful if they duck and get donkey punched for this stylish pickup. not worth it to throw out a CE for it, but it could be a way of playing stylish/silly on someone who might not know the Zwei matchup. i know it's caught a number of my friends off guard before and they always say the same thing "what the **** was that? i've never seen that before." so i guess it could be that 1 in a million mixup when all else is downloaded and predicted. (though not 44B anymore. i'd rather go with 44A, 22/88K, 6A, 4B/4B(BE) or other fairly quick recovering moves in his arsenal to lockdown the mixup better)

Good one, I'll have to remember that notation, man!

I've been trying to learn ZWEI lately and I got to say, he is rather interesting. Though at first I just wanted to see how ZWEI players think with this character, I think I may keep using him after messing around for a bit. This guide is definitely helpful.

He's not an easy character, let me tell you that right now... he's not simple either. But he's god tier

Its a long uphill battle, but once you start to get some flow with the character it becomes easier to win. Something you will realize right away is all your pokes leave you super negative. Zwei is essentially all about momentum. If you have momentum you can get perfect easily. But if you dont you can also be out spaced and poked just as easily. Ive used zwei as my only character for afew monthes and at first i thought it was hopeless, but the more i break him down im starting to find that his vortex is super super dangerous. Still gona be hard to beat characters who are super good at punishing(pyrrha, apat, omega, mitsu ect ect ect ect).

Momentum eh? Sounds a little bit like how I play Viola. Trying to keep the flow of the battle on my side. I remember how long it took me to finally start winning with her so I was expecting to take awhile to start winning games with Z.W.E.I.

Alot of viola mains pick of zwei on the side. I used to think it was out of guilt, but i would say she is a shorter range version of zwei. If you going from viola to zwei i feel like you might drop him pretty quickly. I am hilde main so the losing with zwei did not bother me cause i had experienced a lot of that using hilde. I feel like she has high learning curve like zwei. You wont even be decent with either of them with out some extensive practice.

Not true, and now a lot of Zwei players know this.

Agreed to a certain point.

Tips for Zwei?
tips on where i can find vids of you playing zwei.

about the pokes, pretty much everything that is safe and fast is a high. Really i feel like its a loaded answer. Cause what i would consider to be a bad poke you might use well. So ill just take your word.

Oh. There's no videos of me playing unfortunately. There is one, but it's been archieved in god knows where.

Here are your best friends with Zwei in the poking game:
2A, 6B, 4B, BB, 9B, 2K, 66K, and 6A+B is a must have.

From all the ones I mentioned, only one is a high hitting poke.

If you start using Ein, that's not a poke anymore, that's a whole different topic and playstyle

man since i heard about you been wanting to see some vids of you in action, sucks :(.

4b is negative, everyone has good 2a and most have decent bb. Zwei's bb i16, not that great to me. I wouldnt call 6ab a poke. 9b is amazing though something like -2 on block makes some sick os jg traps and what not. Still out of these pokes 4b is slow i17 i think,9b is pretty slow. His 2k is pretty average to below average. 66k is shit compared to hildes(pretty slow) :). Btw i dont count ein as a poke lol. You forgot to mention standing k, i think its a good punisher. i would consider anything i16 or less fast. But that is just me.

Anyways i know your a great player so i am just giving my opinion while also taking in what you are saying. Im Not saying you are wrong or anything. You know the character alot better then me, im 100% sure of it :

I think all your questions should be answered if we get some matches in :] do you have PSN?

^It started at 48:34 (>^.^) Great match btw! I really like the usage of 66B+K!

There's one other video of Zane vs FinalLifeG in a Zwei mirror. Here! =)
*As always, I envy your precision with 4A+B lol.

And another one!
