That's all I was trying to make you see. I admit I was rude, but I was just trying to get my point across.
It's cool.
Yeah, it would be fun to give it a go, e.g 10 entrants =10 rounds ft3 char chosen by the person running it, via a random method.
So round 1 everyone would have to use for example mitsurugi, round 2 viola etc etc
I would honestly really rather not do something like this. I mean, sure, it could be fun, but you never see in an amateur golf tournament where the person running it is all like "4 wood!" and then suddenly everyone has to use a 4 wood no matter where they are on the field. This is still competition, just competition at a more targeted subset of players. Like the little leagues, so to speak.
Hats off to TiZ for being able to accept negative feedback like a mature person.
I take negative feedback perfectly fine when the feedbacker
* isn't being a dick about it. You know, by starting the discussion off with a picture of a salt shaker and continuously accusing me of only wanting to fight people I can beat when I'm not even going to be in the tournament. If you want to give me
feedback, well, that's why I created the thread in the first place. Have at it. But if you're gonna come
troll and slander me and then try to hide and pretend that you weren't, then your credibility is already gone. Seriously, you are here pretending you weren't being a huge dick to me from the onset, and pretending I wasn't keeping my patience up and being as nice as possible for as long as I could. I direct you to the entire first page as well as most of the second page, up until you posted your third image macro to antagonize me, and on what? Two completely unrelated quotes. It wasn't until directly after that I snapped. As great attorneys of fictional lore say,
Take That!
*This is the wrong word. There's no way it isn't.
Okay, so for the most part, it seems there is a fair reception to this idea, though it is a valid point that we should try to refine the criteria and filtering to prevent the entrance of high-level players. I know one idea was to change top 8 at majors to top 4, but that wouldn't narrow it down enough. Trust me... if you make it to top 8 in any major, even now, you're a beast. The only people bothering to travel for SC nowadays are those who are passionate about it, and/or think they can do some work in it.
I wasn't 100% sure of the criteria I assigned for online tournament filtering to be honest. I know there are very skilled players who are online warriors though, and the online tourneys are where they often test their mettle. We can't use any other criteria here; rank and win percentage are completely useless. Are there better ideas for online tournament-related criteria?
