So yeah.
Nothing too big at the moment, but okay.

Soulcalibur has nothing on Tekken in Namco's eyes. Tekken is the firstborn son while SC is the female step-child. For whatever reason, Namco can't possibly fathom that SC is popular.
Thats the problem I feel SC is suffering from, Tekken is treated like a master piece each time, no gimmicks, no meters, no forced-fan service, no SF-ripped gameplay... they only did this to SC because they honestly think it isnt good enough to stand as its own game even when it always did. They for whatever reason thought SC was dead or medicore on its own so they figure because SF is the hot game of the year just copy that to steal some crumbs of relevance.... which is bizzare to me because Tekken is just as big as SF, they own it.. why didnt they just have SF copy Tekken then? It would have been a lot more seamless..

To be fair, his direction made SCV into the most balanced SC game (besides for a few hiccups... Viola...). His character choices, however, weren't the best.
Nor were the new ones ever justified....

Previous SCs were mediocre. That's why.

Let's just buyout Namco - Fire the people developing it at Project Soul - Hire a new staff that does EXACTLY what you want (at gun point) - And then all SC players will be united!

The logic of "take any obscure fighting engine; paste SF mechanics over it = good game" is honestly whats killing the industry just as COD symbolically ruined modern day shooters. It became apparent with SC5 but confirmed with the new Killer Instinct. I'm tired of the clones. I want Soul Calibur.

I don't want this to turn itno an op-ed about innovation and originality but, I don't think it's fair to call them street fighter mechanics. Jin Kazama basically uses JG/Third strike parries and myriad games use meters. It's not fair to pick on soulcalibur for any of it. Just because street fighter might have done it first doesn't make it theirs or that SC can't utilize it for it's own benefit. For better or worse, this is the best SC yet and I hope they build upon this model.

I guess it would feel like another clone if you actually played other fighting games. Since I don't play any other FG anymore, it feels fresh to me. I thought the changes were good personally, even if they're not original.

Besides, SC will always play differently than any 2D game.

It's funny because I think the same exact thing about FPS. Every damn shooter in the world went into RETARD PROOF regenerating health BS, or the fact that the primary focus of FPS now is multiplayer, and the single player stuff is short and lame, or the fact that some of them have gay-ass auto-aim retard proof scrub-friendly BS.

For me the last good shooters were Quake 1, Halflife 1, and Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

What's up with Nightmare's arm here?

So you want a game full of glitches, broken characters, character imbalances, and broken mechanics? (AKA every previous SC) SCIIHD is there for you homie.

Also, I don't think any meter system is "killing the industry" as you put it. Killer Instinct has gotten great reviews and it looks great, the only thing probably killing the numbers is that no one has an X1

This is a bit off topic, but I think the heavy SF influence was because of Daishi. He didn't hide that he was a huge SF fan, especially of SF3.

Watch Namco unleash a huge ass amount of news for SC at this year's E3 (regarding to Lost Swords and possibly Unbreakable Souls).

Stop being Moneymuffins with all of the all-caps and bold text lol

The weird thing is I've been in some gamefaq Tekken forums, talking about how Tekken is suffering from COD syndrome and that Tekken Revolution is a step one the right direction.

Well I saw the picture on Facebook of Soul Calibur: Lost Swords and on the picture are just Siegfried and Sophitia so she is coming back as her normal self not her dead self that is Elysium who is a female style only mimic and there's got to be more returning legends in this one including Talim. And what about a guest character I was hoping that Syaoran Li from Card Captors is in this so who do you want as a guest character?
