Maxi General Q&A

I think there is a situation where 3A LI A combos can be practical. 3A catches techs to Maxi's left and combos to LI A. For example, it works after his right side throw, and after 6A+B if there is an edge/wall to limit the knockback. But I can't remember any other places off the top of my head...

Despite the horror of using 3A, it might be worth checking out. 3A and CE are pretty much the only options to trap on that side. It's where a player who knows his shit should tech. I've never even tried to make use of this, but maybe a more heroic Maxi player will field test it.
been tech trapping everyone with CE lately im ur feild rat.

What I used to dabble around with was using 3A against on opponents against the wall during practice mode. If 3A hits, 3A hits; if its blocked opponents who Bs or BBs afterwards can eat a while stance loop B+K; if it blocks and you can read an A or AA coming you could LI (B_).

is there a way to avoid maxi's low kick BE pick up? or is it part of his combo? which way to tech to avoid that ring out BE?
You can UJG it after 66B, or back tech if he hit you from far enough away. Best option is to just back tech and UJG.
It's guaranteed after 44B.

so near the edge of the stage, am I screwed because I can't tech to anywhere else?

I remember if he does the BE near the edge, it ends in a draw because we both ring out at the same time, does this only happen if I tech to a specific direction or something?

Go limp. It usually doesn't pick up if you lay there and do nothing.

The RO ending in a W/L/D depends on where Maxi is relative to the edge. If' he's at the extreme edge, he'll RO himself first, and win if he's not right on the lip when he be's. Gotta be at a wonky spot for it to end in a draw.

also wondering about his STC wr B+K, it seems to avoid everything on reaction, even horizontals... can generic 2A's even catch this move?

WR B+K BL KK. the last kick can be ACed or am i thinking of a different move? because i cant seem to AC it in training

IRM, you've gotten really good at movement. Saw your latest Tourney, really unlucky there at the end against Kilik. So close :)

Can you give some input tips? I dropped Maxi for a while cause I couldn't get the movement down to bring him to the next level. Got some tips? Finding a good moment to close distance and 3k seems important.

I dont really know honestly. I just try to practice Clean inputs on movement. Like i dont like to double tap a direction usually unless im buffering a move out thats why usually you dont see me quickstep. Also sometimes you just have to go man mode and close the distance and go for the 3k. Sometimes if im not too sure/want to bait aggression ill run in and just hit 4.

I believe

Is the best Maxi mover so far. Good guy to study. He's so good at being in your face without being punished for the stepping. When I try I look more like a slow version of him, I didn't get what I was doing wrong, Hence letting Maxi go for a while, but now I'm ready to study the masters and get back on track :)

IRM has better movement in this game. If I had the time I used to have I'd be trying to learn to step like him. I always thought good movement was one of the most important factors of being good in the game. I felt my movement was only good in SC3. In SC4 it was subpar. I always admired the movement of players like Xeph and SU. Their good movement carried over from SC4 to SC5 and I think IRM is on par with both of them.
