Lost Swords

What concerns me more, is pricing structure of content which I hope doesnt go the way of outrageous microtransactions. But getting back to this game, Lost Swords, I really do think it was an "experiment" in exploring a free2play model as put forth by others in earlier posts. Whether or not it "worked", who knows. It had a nice momentum at the beginning releasing some favorite characters we missed from earlier games missing in SC5 but judging from the ridiculous pricing schemes and arguably more bizzare content favoring "sex appeal", you can speculate maybe it didn't work they had hoped and are now just scrambling to collect on their investment. Or maybe it did? Who knows... The politics behind game development (and the entertainment business in general)....

Regardless, just relax and stop cursing Hoshino, Daishi, Sasaki, Okubo (God bless his soul) or Harada for what we got. I'm not too worried about the future of the series. This is one of Namco's flagship titles and I don't think they are simply going to drive this series into the ground and bail upon sinking. I'm sure you guys are just feeling the angst of waiting so long for another true Calibur game. Let's just hope they deliver in the next game.

Yeah , I agree with you .

like, at least make it look stylish! LS "outfits" are all fucking hideous. *i* can do better than that shit and i'm not even that good.

Sorry, but that just isn't in the same league of quality design as

Draw some hentai, then try again.

(Seriously though, nice drawings)

Sorry but even though Ivy is the sex symbol of the game, it saddens me that the directors feel they need to do that kind of advertising to get people interested in the game. Sorry, I'm not a prude. Really I'm not but I just expected better of Soul Calibur. I mean, it's already bad enough that these days, games that aren't FPS or brooding action-adventure games don't get much tv exposure. I realize that Soul Calibur probably never got a whole bunch of hype like that of Tekken or Mortal Kombat but still, it was relatively successful before and can be today.

As for the DLC outfits in Lost Swords. Sorry, I too am not a fan. I'm just not that into tacky, risque outfits like the recent ones we've got. I agree Allyjandro, at least make them stylish lol. Ivy's outfits are considered risque but manage to look stylish in some regard. Those former DLC costumes look beyond depraved and tacky. Again, strictly my opinion only.

But I will also add that I hope Hoshino doesn't turn Soul Calibur into Dead or Alive with swords. We can't really say for sure what he'll do since we don't have an official game made by him. I do have faith that he'll keep the game close to it's roots though so time will tell.

Whoa, your concepts look great. My main favorite is Ivy in that red, Victorian styled dress. I would love to see something like that in the game lol

What project soul wants to do with Lost Swords wont matter. They've got nothing to lose by now.
Since it's popularity is decreasing, they're trying everything and anything to make this game somewhat relevant again.Like it once was the first two minutes.
It's just a matter of time before SCVI. I am not worried about the impact Lost Swords will have on the main games;because actually, there is none.
If this game will still have a bit of life in it by the end of the year, then good. It's funding SCVI probably.
If we come across these hentai costumes again,it'll probably be as DLC for SCVI .Not as P1~P2 outfits;except for some characters like Ivy (Durrr!).

No, what they should be doing instead of pouring any other things into this lost cause game is just work more on SCVI. If anything, I hope that they will not rush VI like they did with V because that really did hurt the game a bit. It's better to have a complete than half-ass game with how much you pay for games these days and I'm sure if Project Soul needed more time to finish their game, we'd all understand. I know I would.

As for the hentai costumes, I'm sure we won't either assuming we have good costume designers for the game which we should. And like I said, Ivy's outfits aren't necessarily hentai in my opinion with the exception of her 1P outfit in IV, just wow... But other than that, going after her outfits in SCV, that was the perfect combination of sexy meets elegance, just Ivy's style.

Do you honestly think that they didn't start making SCVI already?
IMO: I'm sure that they've spent AT LEAST one year already in the production of SCVI. The fact that we don't have an announcement yet means that they will (Hopefully) Take their time this time.Unless you expect them to give an announcement on day one of working on SCVI,which will take about three years till the release."SOULCALIBUR.....VI! Coming 2018" Heck no.
Lost swords is just a side-project.The entire team isn't focusing on Lost Swords, otherwise they'd update it faster than it's current pace.
I expect an announcement trailer at TGS. If not, then sometime before the year ends.

I can't imagine it takes many people at all to keep it running and updated at it's current pace. It's really a brilliant idea. 95% reused assets and thrown together missions with simple text descriptions and CaS opponents. And the content that actually matters to folks (old characters) comes for exorbitant prices. It's genius. I loathe that it is the current face of SoulCalibur but it's genius.

I just hope that the money is going straight towards the development of SCVI.

I certainly hope you're right because if VI flops, that can potentially put the final nail in the coffin for the series.
But here's to hoping that they are putting a lot of work into the game.

I'm so much disappointed... Project Soul "kills" Soul Calibur day after day with this crap Lost Swords... I don't know why they do this and I don't know why the don't give us some info if they are working on a new project, probably Soul Calibur VI (6).... If they are not show us something in TGS 2015, I'm afraid that I'll lose my interest for both Tekken & Soul Calibur series.....

I check here everyday for updates. I told everyone that Lost Swords is crap and *some* people decide that I'm a troll and proceeded to block me. You're blind if you still think that Lost Swords is a great game. BS! Even if little by little my love for this game is dying, I still have hopes that SCVI will be THE one we've been waiting for.

Almost a month since the last message here, you people are not playing anymore this game?

I still check by on the site every few days but as for playing the game, I haven't really "played" it in quite awhile. I got bored. I'll dabble with character creation here and there but for the most part, the game pretty much died for me. I'll most likely be playing it again when I do my video game review video for it but other than that, I've found myself casually playing SCII, III, and a little of IV every now and then.

Agreed so much. There has been no word on if there is going to be another Soul Calibur game and it's disappointing because Lost Swords was just rubbish. It was already bad enough when they stopped the character creation DLC (even if it was disc locked, I still would have liked the items). We could have gotten more updates and even DLC characters but nope, nothing. Nada.

And I feel you on Tekken. I'm really on the fence with that one as well. What happened to Namco? lol
