Tekken 7 will be released worldwide June 2. Just so hyping between Tekken and SC doesn't conflict, I estimate we might get some hints around autumn or so. Don't take my word for it, but it's a thought.

Listening to Soulcalibur OSTs makes me sad and nostalgic at the same time. I need new SC, and with the confirmation that they're working on new themes, I can only hope a new SC is on the way.

Unless something said in a straightforward way, trying to make any hopeful assumptions is meaningless, 'cuz pachislot version is more realistic at the moment. As for announcement - I doubt anything's gonna happen ̶a̶t̶ ̶a̶l̶l̶ before TGS.

With Tekken 7 releasing barely 2 weeks before E3 2017, the best hopes are either a SCVI announcement at Japan Expo 2017 in July or Tokyo Game Show 2017 in September.
Or a remaster of SC3/SC4 at one of these 3 events.
Something has to happen this year with Namco doing shits for the 20th anniversary with many of their social accounts and an official website.

yeah, i read that amy was updated in the arcade version to both look better and have a more unique style from raphael.
of course, she was even more fleshed out in SC4, but to be fair, it's creation mode sucks. loving SC5's creation mode (you can make alucard from van hellsing ALMOST PERFECTLY!) but i have heard that SC3's creation mode is the best the series has to offer. if it's better than 5's, i'm in. of course, i wanted it anyway. from what i hear, the sword and shield style closely resembles link from SC2 minus the nintendo stuff.

hey, could you use any custom characters in that mode? i never played it so i don't know.

SC3 has the best assortment of items for customisation, but lacks body customisation that SC5 has.
Are you talking about that "strategy-like" Chronicles of the Sword mode? If so, then yes you can use custom characters for that mode, but only specifically created for it. In the very beginning you create a main character and could add new charaters to your squad either by unlocking them through completing chapters, or by creating new characters.
