Personally i think red fits her better. But main thing i hope about Taki is that she'll find her right face, i always thought she looked weird in SC4, like her face didn't looked asian Japanese enough. while in SC2 and 3 she really looked like a fantasy Japanese woman, especially in 2.
Nobody forgot about Rock. He just isn't popular so barely anyone cared.
I'm pretty sure he was close to dead last on the SCIV tier list too. I wanted to like his play style but it wasn't fun for me to use him.
I like his design and outfits and his weapon is cool.
I would argue people have forgotten about Hwang and Li Long. They haven't been in a mainline game since the arcade version of III in 2006 so they have no chance of returning.
It's really sad too. Hwang and Li Long have really cool moves in what little I can see of the SCIII AE footage
That's because Soul Calibur IV had strange graphics. The graphics were good but some characters ended up looking different than they should've due to the high amount of shininess and faces went into deep anime territory.
Taki looks like an asian girl in SCIII in game, but SCIV in game she looks like someone from anime.

Whilst I liked the more realistic looks of the old games, I find that stylised art (Anime or not,) ages much better in the long run.
I played SC5 for nearly 3 years, and I never felt that the graphics became aged.
Compare it to PS1 games that wowed me as a child, but now look like a joke. (Lara Croft jumping 20 meters in the air with all of 4 polygons alluding to her chesticles.)

Okay, but the difference between Tomb Raider and SCV is more due to 16 years of graphical advancements between the titles, not stylized vs realistic art.
I forgot how tacky her SCIV outfit was. Mostly I just remember not digging the blonde pompadour thing. Her eyes changed from amber to blue too, which is... weird. And maybe it was just me, or maybe it was because she was always a later battle in Tales of Souls in SCIII, but I don't remember her being quite as vicious in SCIV. I need that venom. ]
I never liked how generic-looking they made her in SCIV going off her SCIII player 2 outfit. Without the geisha motif and that vindictive personality, her character really isn't anything. Not to mention they changed her voice which also changed her personality with it.

Yeah. Design-wise what they did to her is on PS for making her plain-looking, but losing her VA is an unfortunate loss. I haven't been too happy about most of the voices they replaced from SCII really. Except for Raphael who sounded at least similar enough.
I haven't been to happy with SCV's new character VAs at all though. It could be what made SCV feel more like an Anime to my displeasure from them just getting the most common actors who do Anime dubs. Mostly because they just happened to have the most overcirculated particular VAs in the industry. It was just too easy to point out, Laura Bailey, Yuri Lowenthal, Tara Platt, Johnny Yong bosch. The usual. I was hoping that they'd get VAs from other video games simply because they'd have a fresher pool.

True, but then compare to similar era games such as Super Mario 64 which have aged far more gracefully.
I mean, you could say that you won't care in 20-odd years how good SC6 will look, but people are still playing Soul Edge. That has to be a positive thing in the end, surely?

Considering that Astaroth is the superior grappler heavyweight between him and Rock, it’s not much of a surprise that many people don’t really seem to care about the latter all that much.
Thats how I felt about Xianghua's face in SCIV. It just NEVER looked right to me. But don't get me started with Seoung Mi-Na and Yun-Seung not ever remotely looking Asian in their faces.

Even if they wanted to be stylistic they can still do that without giving them weird generic faces. I'd wish Seoung Mi-na looked more like D.Va from overwatch,a much more realistic looking Korean even while a cartoon.
Second, how is D.va more "realistic" than SC4 Seung Mina.?
What you're saying is objectively preposterous. Maybe you can add "in your opinion" because you're stating them almost as irrefutable facts, when I suggest that it is not.
I attach a comparison to actually support my position.
I had to rotate Mina's eyelids down to approximate the same expression. Nonetheless you can compare.
I can't see where you would argue that D.va's difuse texture for her facial parts looks more "realistic" and less "generic".
Without the diffuse textures, D.va's face actually appears smoother and more fitting to a high production disney animation.
Luckily for the rest of us, it appears only you and Nyte seem to complain about the faces in SC4/5 without showing any examples.
I can accept your opinion that Xianghua's face doesn't look OK to you because that is entirely subjective. However, your other parts of that post doesn't sit right with me when you make baseless claims.
Please don't attach images of Korean women cosplaying D.va for your argument.

I mean more along the lines of a bigger name like Arc System Works. Their work in the Guilty Gear series has been turning out great and their new Dragonball Fighter Z game is looking promising as well.
That what i talking about. Umbrella > generic sword. Yoshimitsu, Mitsurugi, Xianghua, Yun-seong and Hwang have similar weapons such as swords/blades that's why i against adding Xianghua as playable character.
Yoshimitsu, Mitsurugi, Yun-Seong and Xianghua don't play one bit like each other. There are barely any similarities if there is any at all. Yun-Seong and Hwang are the only ones with any similarity among the ones you mentioned, because the first is based on the latter. Also, Setsuka does NOT fight with an umbrella, its just a cute sheath that, at best, she gives to an enemy in one of her grabs, and honestly, even though Patroklos is one of the worst characters personality and story-wise, α Patroklos' gameplay feels leagues better than Setsuka's. If Setsuka actually used her umbrella to fight, MAYBE she would be somewhat original.
