Playable Night Terror? Dunno about in online, but count me in.
As for online play Namco may implement revenge system for losers. For example normally Night Terror is not accesible for online play however if you lose 5 times in row then there will apear option which allow you one time select boss character as compensation for losing but if you lose 4 times in row and next time win then counter will be reset and you need again lose 5 times in row to make this option appear.

I doubt it's a remake, given the hints so far. Why would it be called Soulcalibur VI if it's a remake?

Why would it be called SCVI if it's reboot? They have those glances of SCII-V, but that could just mean they're giving call forwards to the events of the future entries and retconning a few things so they trim the fat and plot holes of the franchise out and make things seem a little more cohesive (kinda like what happened for Yakuza Kiwami). Furthermore the official description is "Taking place in the 16th century, revisit the events of the original Soulcalibur to uncover hidden truths," which probably means they could also bring up old plot points that were either not followed up on or do a few retcons because the SC series has tons of rich lore.

It's simpler to call it SCVI than giving it some odd retooled name. Daishi Odashima originally wanted SCV to be called Soul Edge 2 just for it being a timeskip game, but that made things complicated.

Yep. After watching today's gameplay from SCVI panel I think the camera is a little bit too far from characters. Maybe there's gonna be an option to adjust this element.

Yeah, i also think camera is a bit far, but can't really tell, need to play it first, that could be the right thing to do with this game who knows. But personally i think SC2 has the best Camera zoom in the franchise, and that it was one of the aspect that made this game so exciting to watch at high level.

I personally think also SC5 had its merits: imo the stages were beautifully done and I liked the art direction of the costumes, especially for the female characters (Ivy for example, they mantained her sexy and voluptuous look while adding an elegant edge).

Absolutely agree with this.

So you know that newcomer I was talking about?
You know that style switching/multiple moveset thing I was talking about?
This is how it works:

Before you ask, no, the character is not Darth Maul. lol
But his weapon was the inspiration for the new guy's. I needed a visual to express the idea.
And before you worry, no, it's not a lightsaber, they are swords. More like Cao Pi's Dual Blade from Dynasty Warriors 5 and 8 from what I hear, which is the same idea.
The new guy uses two swords that he can fight with separate, or combine them and fight that way. Two different movesets in one character.
100% confirmed this guy is the real deal.

I hope we'll get everyones outfits from all their previous games. To see them in today's graphics would be quite satisfying.

Maybe unlock them in a new mode, or as we lvl up. ^_^

I think that'll be a DLC option for CAS parts with "legacy" outfits. That would entice the CAS crowd and the nostalgia factor would make it easy money for namco

This is really hype for me seeing Soul Calibur finally making it's comeback on PS4 after 5 years.
I've been playing Soul Blade & Calibur games since PS1 and Dreamcast & it's one of my fav fighting game franchises of all time.
Mitsu looks young & got some really cool new moves & stuff. 2018 is gonna be a great year for fighting game fans.
I can't wait to main Mitsurugi for another 5 years. :)

If the game goes in the direction I think it will, those costumes will be regular story costumes.

If they make regular in-game costumes become DLC for CaS it will not.

The quality of the costumes in SC4/5 are decent when viewed at higher resolution. They might get lazy and recycle those particular assets which isn't a problem in my book. The problem is breaking the entire costume into individual customizable CAS parts.
