It's confirmed to be a new character with a brand new unique fighting style.

Edgelord and Edge Master. The edge runs in the family. XD
That actually would be clever if they pulled that with them, and "rebranded" Edge Master as a new character ala Aeon Calcos was to Lizardman being consider a "new" character despite just being a new version of the same one.

Furthermore, redesigning Edge Master and giving him a new name and moveset would mean they fully own the rights to that new version of the character, as opposed to the rights for Edge Master where they have and had to pay his specific character designer royalties to use him being why they took so long to bring him back on V.

Now that is an interesting bit of information that adds to the complexity of character inclusion in this series.

What if rival guy was a 2 sword master, and then one day he heard (or met, or even fight) about a guy name Kilik who use a Rod like no one else, then he got jealous AF so he trained a new style where he fuse both his sword to make it like a Rod, would make sens with his Edge lore attitude and personality. Sounds sick imo
 

This video is the first of my series showcasing the differences and similarities between soul calibur clones. Sorry for the poor quality but video editing isn't my thing.....

Certainly reinforces PS probably picking Yun over Hwang for SCVI.....despite Hwang evolving to get his own movelist in SCIIIAE. Twas too late for him.

I just hope this new family thing isnt like the Mishima family. I am excited for a new family besides the Alexandras though :D

Regarding the Amy/Viola thing. I dont give a fuck about Amy just her style. I thought her design was very generic and super "I just watched anime and this is my OC" kinda thing. I preferred Viola cus of her 2p tbh. If she is in the next game I hope they follow that design choice. I wouldnt mind both of them though.

Speaking of Alexandras, maybe Im the minority here but, I actually want all of them in SC6. I'm sure the interactions would be pretty cool. Especially with Tira.

For CaS DLC I hope they give us more clothes from that time period. One thing I disliked from SC5 was how much modern clothing we got. I just wanted more armor and fancy clothes ;-;
 
I just want Sophitia and Cassandra being the only Alexandra's in the roster from now on. I don't care for Sophitia's crotch spawn and I'm fine with them not coming back. Just incorporate some of Patroklos' moves into Cassandra's and A-Pats into Setsuka (if she hopefully returns).

I also saw some wanting Lucius or Rothion, but I don't see why. Their story would only be like Cassandra's (trying save Sophitia and the kids) and it would just be yet another S&S user.

I know this is not the "guess the characters" thread but I personally start thinking that Viola might appear in SC6 (DLC or main cast): she is always quite high in the various pools, also she was very used during tournaments if I'm correct.

Can you tell us more about the Edge Master royalty issue? I've never heard of this
