RCPS3 Emulator - runs SCIV & SCV on PC!

I managed around 45fps in the actual fights themselves and 60 on the menus/CAS. My audio was still really poor quality though as seen in Marginal's recording but not sure how to resolve this.

For reference I have a 6700k processor and GTX 1070.

Tried it myself on my setup. It's running 60 on menus, but audio is still messed up and ingame fights are like 30 FPS to 12 FPS. Cutscenes seem to run pretty well tho.

FX8350 gtx 1060. I know it's my CPU.

It's 100% majority of your CPU's power as opposed to your GPU.... even my 6700k struggles at some points, running at about 60% usage.

I cleared up the sound by overclocking my CPU. Still generally hitting around 45fps in game. Some stages go up to 60 (the raft stage is less demanding apparently) and intro scenes are 60.

Hmm I'll have to consider that sometime. In the meantime I think it's pretty certain to say that it's very impressive progress for emulation, even if it is not yet perfect. Will be on the lookout for when it gets even better.

That gives me an idea. Maybe one could mod the game and replace the stage meshes with extremely simplistic meshes in order to improve performance.

Bloody hell, you only got 45fps with a setup like that!? 6700K is apparently 4.0 base with 4.2 turbo. GTX 1070 is also powerful. You might be able to overclock it to 5.0, but I'm surprised. Could you please double check the actual fights and maybe take a screenshot confirming that?

It depends on the stage but it averages around 45-60fps depending on the stage. I'll have another run of it in a bit.

Is it possible to use save data from console versions? I have a ton of backups of my saves and I'd love to be able to mess around with CaS again now that I don't have a 360 controller...

It was fiddly, but I was able to copy over my savegame from the PS3. I don't know if it would be possible to port over a 360 savegame though.

Great. I can just get a a PS3 save and paste in my CaS data... when I get around to it of course. Kappa

small bump, but they've been updating RPCS3 alot lately and I'm noticing a slight increase in performance in Soul Calibur 4. On my end during actual fights it stays closers to 45FPS now and at some points even 50fps instead of dropping between that and 30, while CaS stays consistently at 60

We're getting closer bois

(Video from their channel showing performance improvements in other games too)

Really? That's actually very nice. Last time I tried the story mode I couldn't get to see the second stage because I was getting a black screen after finishing stage 1.

with the latest update and patch SC5 runs pretty good on RPCS3 for me now (pretty much 60fps).
However, I have a really weird problem that i'll try here first:

In game, when the menu is up, the graphical quality goes way down (right picture)
Compare her hair, shield, and the floor to see. Somehow the resolution / AA goes kaput

In custom creation mode there is no AA, and the graphical quality is really bad. It looks like the resolution simply drops (like the right picture), 100% of the time regardless of menu/posing

Anyone with a newer version of RPCS3 (say Apr 2020 and newer) can test this out for me ?

These are my settings:

lol no idea, I've been waiting for the game to just work without issues like this before jumping in.

the game was like 30fps for me until the more recent update during an actual match.
There was a patch that disabled the MLAA, and combined with one of the newer versions I can play consistently at 60fps

However, I have trouble in creation-mode and when the menu interface is brought up, the graphics takes a hit.
Overall its pretty playable but for taking comparison screenshots its lacking.

OpenGL instead of Vulkan seems to have its own set of problems, so I haven't explored that yet.

SC5 runs extremely poorly for me. I'm using the latest version of RPCS3 with similar settings as that and my framerate is usually around 40. I get the same weird low-res thing when going into menus, but something similar happens randomly during gameplay too.

It reminds me of an annoyance with SC4 in RPCS3 where I haven't found a reliable way to turn off the game's AA, which screws up high resolutions. If I make the game performance worse, then it will occasionally turn off the AA, so that way I can make good screenshots. But I haven't found a way to make videos with the AA off.
