I started playing from Soul Blade and he was one of my faves.

Oh no doubt everyone has their faves, even unpopular ones but the point is Namco wont make the same amount of money on Rock DLC as Casandra or Setsuka DLC for example.

I suspect Rock is making the standard roster (much to the dismay of his haters) but i think we will see some major changes with him. That is why they are waiting so long for his reveal. It'll be a big "Oh shit, look at Rock!" sort of thing.

When I created the bingo card, I made it so the characters that had already been reveal at the time were spread out evenly, and scattered most of the characters from SCIV and before across the card. Characters, like Amy, who I felt had a 0% chance of being in the base roster I left out. And I consider the Hwang/Yun space interchangeable. Algol is definetly them ost questionable character on the card. I kidna wish I had Rock there instead.

P.S. Does a real bingo card have all of the numbers 1-75? Nope. It has a smattering of them for each letter. So this bingo card has 25 out of the possible 40+ characters that soul calibur has had to offer. :)

I'd say it's because she's day one, in all likelihood. But the initial impression was that she would be exclusive to the season pass, but I feel like Okubo probably decided that it was a terrible idea, and pushed for her to be standalone DLC, also available on day one.

At first she's was a bonus for buying the SP, now... I guess it's just she's simply non-canon and a "plus" for the game on release. It is indeed quite illogical...

No one is arguing that Rock is less popular than some others like Cassandra, but the person I was quoting (you) made it seem like Rock was at the complete bottom of the barrel of popularity of all SC characters, when there's many others who are much lower.

If Rock didn't make base, and they had multiple season passes of DLC, Rock could be S2 or S3 based on popularity.

Not only does the quantity of faces look to be the same, it's quite simply the same faces. If the development team had to choose between adding more characters or adding more CAS content, then I'm okay with them focusing on the former, but it's a shame to see very obvious examples of a low budget.

Maybe I should buy enough stocks (surely I can muster robbing a bank or two) of Bandai Namco Holdings Inc so I can shout at them in a shareholder meeting.

I dont think its a stretch to place him at the bottom of the barrel. That seems accurate. Only person lower than him might be Dampierre.

I think it only makes sense from a business perspective to place the most popular characters in DLC.

I assume with however they price the individual parts of the pass, she'll essentially be like a free throw in when totaled up.

There is absolutely no way in hell Rock will ever be DLC. Who would buy that? No, they'll either force him on the standard roster or not at all.

Wouldn't have much choice if they made him the 3rd season pass character. If you bought the season pass for the other two/three characters prior you'd be stuck with whoever they decided for the third/fourth.

Yeah, you guys are absolutely right. Rock is a memorable Bangoo with a very rich Bangoo and a deep Bangoo and was so fun to play in SC5 unlike Damp who didn't appear in that game... Wait...
