Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

What if Hwang and Aeon appeared but weren’t differentiated gameplay-wise from X and Sophie much besides more masculine movements? It’d suck they’d feel like clones but beggars can’t be choosers.

For a while I’ve thought that this would be a good idea for CaS styles - being able to slightly tweak the stances and certain moves so the frames look more/less feminine. A lot of the female styles (Xianghua, Sophitia, Ivy, etc) look strange for male characters, so it would be a nice touch. I have zero expectation of this ever happening (does anyone know how much work this would be for developers) but anyway...

Seems like an odd choice for those names to constantly pop up when Rock and Cassie are being ignored since they’ve evolved from those ladies’ styles. Men generally feel more gender neutral except for Astaroth. Mi-Na meanwhile is pretty good at avoiding girly stuff I guess even with some hiccups but her weapon is pretty different from Kilik’s.

Even Setsuka feels kind of gender neutral if it wasn’t for the umbrella.

Tira’s is hard to use for a CaS if you want to make one for each style. My plan’s a ninja woman with a big ass shuriken? IV had a recurring male NPC with her style...

Well some of the guest designs in IV used the poses of the other character with a similar weapon (Kami w/ Nightmare moves and Siegfried poses.)

Not sure if this was brought up yet, but I think that three additional stages are hinted at in the modes trailer:

2:06: Ling Sheng Su Temple?

2:10: Money Pit

2:35: One of the events on the world map is located in Japan and we didn't get a Japanese stage yet. However, I'm not exactly sure the other events correspond to the locations of the stages we know about so far. Can anybody back this up?

My hope are that additional stages will be unlockable (or more likely, DLC...)

I've been wanting to say this for a while and I apologize if this comes off as rude.

Please share your opinions about whether a style is girly/masculine/gender neutral (and how this affects your custom characters) in (1) the CAS thread, (2) a new thread, or (3) nowhere. I'm tired of reading about it in the general SC thread.

All we can do is wait for TGS for additional new info.

Thank you for saying this.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask about this but don't you think it's a bit weird that there are almost no good looking figures from this series? Most of them are either low quality or just weird looking to me, especially comparing with the current standards.

Also, someone mentioned before the discrepancies between the Cervantes artwork and model. The only reason I can think of for the changes is visibility. Or maybe the dev team is so dead tired that they didn't notice xD for me the game is so lovingly made, they must be exhausted lol

Most of the best figure companies are based in Japan and it follows that most of their audience is Japanese. Because SoulCalibur isn't very popular in Japan, we haven't gotten very many figures.

First4Figures (not based in Japan) has done an excellent Nightmare and Taki recently. They're rather expensive, sadly.
