Soulcalibur VI General Roster Speculation Thread

SoulCalibur VI: which 3 characters do you most hope for?

  • A brand new character

  • Amy

  • Cassandra

  • Hilde

  • Hwang/Yunsung and/or Lizardman

  • Rock

  • Setsuka

  • Viola

  • Z.W.E.I.

  • Other: Abyss, Algol, Dampierre, Elysium, Leixia, Li Long, Patroklos, etc.

A good upcoming game that would fit then is Assassin's Creed Odyssey, maybe have both genders.

Another good upcoming game that could fit is Darksiders 3. Even though the world is a little off, the blade whip weapon is pretty cool, though it might distract from Ivy a little. She also has a keyblade and double flail flame weapons... the double flail flame weapons might be the most unique. Timing also works well since that's supposed to release in November.

Another good game is Ghost of Tsushima though I think that's a ps4 exclusive so that might not work. They can always pull from a current non-exclusive MOBA or MMO like Smite or For Honor as well.

I mentioned pop icon (which is a broad term for persons, objects, characters of cultural significance) not a pop star (specifically popular celebrities or pop musicians) lol. I swear if they make a pop star like Justin Bieber or Brittney Spears as a guest character then I will have a sudden urge to choke someone lol. Then again, it wouldn't be such a bad idea to use them as practice dummies.

I'm not sure if they want to get a guest from Assassin's Creed again but if they do go for Odyssey then I would say the female character works better just for gender parity and since Ezio was previously featured as a male Assassin. If they are willing to double dip on games though, Norse Kratos would be a pretty cool guest.
 
Since Lizardman is apparently back on the table, I'm revitalizing my expectation that Hwang is also included, that they'll be unlockable, and Cassandra and Setsuka are back in play for the season pass. It does seem as if both Geralt and Azwel will be getting 7 weapons, so perhaps Hwang and Lizardman, being unlockable, are going to be like Assassin and Lizardman from SoulCalibur II, and only have one weapon apiece. So that accounts for 142 of the 149 weapons, and with Hayate saying someone fought Tira in Arcade, it's possible that the last 7 belong to her.

Edge opposite to Azwell, Inferno in the center, Tira opposite to Talim (as Day One, she will be in the base slot I'm sure), Liz and Hwang as "alternate versions" to Soph and Xiang would take side-slots separated from main roster or'll be CaS-only styles.
 
I need Hwang, or at the very least Yun-Seong, to be in the base roster. It would be a shame to miss a unique fighting style out - from a character who was in SC/SCII - the very games that this reboot is based on.

I still think he (and maybe 1 or 2 other characters) has a chance of making it in given there's still a whole month until launch, and it would seem odd not to unveil anymore characters during this time.

Game went gold at the end of august. No big changes will be made.
Hwang and Lizardman (not even Aeon) seem to be either a bonus character or CaS only styles, as they seem to not have a full moveset of their own, instead just being a modified versions of Xiang and Soph.
 
I have a strong feeling that if Hwang is just an unlockable Xianghua variant, then we might actually get a more fleshed-out Yun-seong as part of the Season Pass. If the DLC is gonna be Waifu Wars, we're going to get at least one of the husbandos.

None of this is confirmed though is it?

Okay so the game went gold in August but there's no guarantee that we've seen the final build (unless I've missed something). I say this because the character select screen has the most ridiculous layout I've ever seen if the roster we have at the moment is final. I would imagine a newer build would change this.

They're unlockable characters. It's confirmed we have them with Inferno, and I believe the other three are Edge Master, Lizardman and Hwang. People forgot that unlockables are a tradition.
