I agree, but I think it's a shame; with SC6 being a reboot, it's a good chance for Project Soul to reinvent the unpopular/underpowered characters. I'd love to see Rock return with a focus on weapon attacks rather than grabs. Or a Yun-Seong whose defining characteristic isn't being dumber than a bag of rocks. But that's definitely season 2+ territory.

Yun Seong had potential. But his moves were always so sloppy looking. I know it's intentional to his personality but it's very unappealing compared to how clean Hwang's moves are.
Also SC4 made Yun Seong really fucking ugly. Like he went from a teenager to this meat head.

True, plus Asta has always outclassed him in every aspect of the game. This was even shown in both their biographies from the original timeline where Asta basically demolishes Rock.
Guess this means no #RockRox anytime soon.

I really hope there are more than four planned overall. I want this game to have a long life, not only should it fill out the roster with returnees, but I'd like to see more good newcomers and guests (particularly 2B). This game should be supported for as long as it's active, to make the most out of the playerbase to ensure a bright future, just like with the other fighters on the market.

Since we see generic Lizardmen in the game using the old Lizardman moves, I'm guessing that the first DLC we will get is Aeon using a more polished version of what we see. Hopefully he picks up some of the moves he had in SoulCalibur V mixed with what he had in SoulCalibur IV instead of being a Sophitia clone. I don't think anyone wants to pay for a clone unless it's a waifu like Cassandra lol.
Also hoping to see Hwang in the game. If he is added then I'm hoping he will get his own moveset and not the same one as Yun-Seong since I prefered the moveset Assassin had.
And maybe people have mixed reception to this but I'm hopeful that we won't see a guest character for the Season Pass and it will be a separate DLC outside of it and that we will get a returning character instead. Maybe Rock or Cassandra?
P.S.
Edge Master should also be a free update. If Bandai Namco gives away free stages for Dragon Ball FighterZ than I don't see why they can't give away a free character that randomly mimics another character every round. I'm sure it costs more to create a brand new stage than polishing up an existing model found in SoulCalibur V and slapping in animations that other characters are using. I don't think the Mysterious Old Man needs his own story mode to be honest.

I agree with most of what you said, but I don't see them making Rock a DLC character. He has practically no appeal.

If we get Hwang and Lizardman and no guest, I'd think Setsuka would be the most likely choice for the third character. Cassandra is popular enough to get Anna'd into carrying S2.

Okubo did say something about possible free dlc so you might be onto something. I have a feeling he was talking about 2p outfits or CaS parts but I'm willing to believe rock and edge master can be free.

Makes me sad to think Rock's been forgotten, but it's probably true.
Lore-wise he has so much potential. He's the only character with any connection to the Americas. He's fought against Fygul Cestemus, and could easily conflict with Maxi who seems like the type to mistake him for Astaroth and attack him, completely blind with rage. He's one of four parents at the time (the others being Sophitia, Raphael, and Algol, all with potential interactions over this fact). And having a respect and admiration for nature, he could easily make allies with Talim.
I guess the only thing I can't see is making another axe (or mace) user that's also a grappler and different enough from Astaroth to warrant a spot on the roster. The team's more then capable of making characters with the same weapons with different play-styles, maybe Rock needs to go back to the drawing board?

Character Creation parts are confirmed to be sold as part of the Season Pass so it's a little unlikely to see them give it out for free unless there is some promotional value to doing it. As for 2P outfits, I really am hoping that we would see them but I am very doubtful that they would give them out for free since there is usually a good amount of work put into it, even more so than polishing Edge Master in my perspective.

Okubo talked about possible free dlc after being asked about CaS which is why I mentioned it as a possibility. You can read his interview with Kayane if you want to see for yourself. I also think Japan has a preorder bonus with CaS parts that are unavailable in other countries so we will probably just get it free later

Ah, I knew I had heard that somewhere. I know it's easy to talk about the possibilities of free DLC, but I really hope they do that for CaS, given the breadth of what is missing from SCV's base game alone.

That would be amazing if they do. Maybe it could be a "Thank You" promotion if enough people purchase the game or a "One Year Anniversary" update.

Why are so many people so sure there's going to be a guest fighter on the first season pass? I feel like if they introduced another guest so soon it would kind of kill the hype for Geralt. Just doesn't make sense when we're missing fighters like Hwang/Yun, Cassandra, Setsuka, Amy, Hilde and so on.

Then there's Season 2, which hopefully will double the number because the base roster is so small and could use more, and four isn't a whole lot.

- Lucius - Brother of Sophitia/Cassandra, uses a revamped Patroklos style.
- Curtis - Aval Agent and Groh's friend, uses a revamped Z.W.E.I. style (no, I didn't make the name up)
- Hazel - A witch, uses a sword and grimoire (name is placeholder for lack of a better one).
- Toki - Taki's master, uses his demon form and cursed ninjutsu in tandem with his sword.

Because we don't know that there is going to be a second season pass, and yet we have been given reason to believe we may get a guest, so... if both of these things are true, then there must be a guest in the first and maybe only season pass we're getting. The only way the guest would be in the second season pass if they confirm that there will be a second season pass.
