Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

...TIL Maxi had two weapon demos in SC1.
I feel like I should've known that considering how much I played SC1, but I also never really played Maxi, so idk

Another nail in the "Li Long" coffin for SC1 is that aside from some art of him fighting cevantes it seems Maxi even took his spot in the numbering....

0x01 = Mitsurugi
0x02 = Seong Mi-na
0x03 = Taki
0x04 = Maxi
0x05 = Voldo
0x06 = Sophitia
0x07 = Siegfried
0x08 = Rock
0x09 = Hwang
0x0A = Arthur
0x0B = Ivy
0x0C = Kilik
0x0D = Xianghua
0x0E = Lizardman
0x0F = Yoshimitsu
0x10 = Edgemaster
0x11 = Nightmare
0x12 = Astaroth
0x13 = Inferno
0x14 = Cervantes

Maxi should not be that high in the list. The first 9 characters are those who were in SoulEdge except Maxi. Maxi literally stole Li Long's spot lololol Kappa

For consistency Maxi should have been by Kilik and Xianghua or the other SC1 additions. Cervantes only is last because he was a "new" character added to the dreamcast port.

@LisaK

I can see what you're doing, but I've got thicker skin than that.
I'm not triggered, yet.gif

So honestly I can't say I miss Li Long that much.

Many here think that I detest some specific characters due to various acid comments I make about them, but in fact I hate their fans, not the characters themselves, some I don't even remember exist in the game, but there are only two main characters in franchise (excluding guests, bonus, mimics and Necrid) that I can really say I don't like: Li Long and Astaroth.
Li Long is by far the most unbearable character to face in Soul Edge. I just hate it and his design doesn't appeal to me. Would I have a problem if it was DLC? honestly not, as I said he deserves a second chance, but I would be hypocritical if I said I like him.

It’s still weird to me that Hwang and Arthur didn’t reclaim their spots for SoulCalibur III. It makes sense, on one level, because they’re custom styles for creation avatars, but at the same time it doesn’t, because they already had spots.

I think one of the last numbers was for 0x99 for Dragon (generic cas that used hwang style)
No, they kept going all the way to EF, was the last one, for Ende, the level 99 guy from Chronicles of the Sword.

Chronicles of the Sword folks took up a lot of slots, even though they were condensed as best they possibly could be, there were 1p/2p/3p representing different characters, followed by 4p/5p/6p/7p/8p to represent the nation-specific generic soldiers.

@DanteSC3 its a good thing they separated the bonus characters because we'd be in the 100s or something crazy if we kept building off the bonus characters in SC3.
But yes, it's good that all those weren't put on reserve, not even the folks that picked up after Night Terror. Thinking about it a bit more, Charade was probably up inbetween Cassandra and Yun-seong (the other one being Necrid), so Charade didn't reuse his spot either, and Shadow Master could have been in Edge Master's spot, if you believe those two to be one in the same.

Edit: Typo fix.
